I have not thought of that Corky however like Shannon said you are the mentor to many so you are well accepted to any group.
Can't say that I have ever met such a great group of people as on this board.
One day I will take up apprenticeship with Linkous to become a professional handler like him.

Danny,
Welcome to the site jump in anytime we are just a bunch of fun loving people who like to tell stories and once in a while we might actually turn dogs loose.

Take care all.

Hey y'all. I'm an English guy. Right now I'm straddling because of a good deal an ole buddy gave me. I grew up huntin' English dogs in the late 70's and 80's. I had a real nice hound out of Bob Hardison's Columbo, named Mel. He could start and finish any track. One of the best English dogs around these parts for a while. He got into some antifreeze somewhere and had his life cut short. he was just about to make Nt Ch. Bob always said that the cross we made on my brother, Kevin's old Sarah Jane, blue with red legs, English dog, was about as good a cross that he'd seen on old Bo. I wish we had kept that line goin'. Somewhere between college and life, we go out of coonin' for a while. I miss huntin' with Bob and Gayle. Anyway, I have a pup coming from the Gun X Mouse cross Bud Hood made, in a couple of weeks. Back to straddling, I have a walker hound, Deep Woods Ranger, that Roger Fackler gave me. He is a Gr Nt out of Dohoney's Dizzy. Roger had a couple of females he was campaigning after he granded Ranger out and I ended up with him. Strong line if anybody's interested in breeding to him. I've been hunting him for almost a year now. He's gonna make a good pup trainer for my b/w English hound, Oak Hill Colonel. He is kinda marked up like Frank Owens' Buzzy dog, that won the Purina race back in the 80's. Looking forward to getting back in the Nite Hunts !

Good afternoon.

Today's high about 70, going down in the low 50's. If I wasn't so lazy I would go hunting tonight.

Shawn - good luck with the red dog. I hope he works out well for you. I have never owned a Red Bone.

Corky - I used to have some Walkers. Actually I had some pretty decent ones. I do think that last one I had broke me of ever having another one. LOL!

Welcome aboard Danny, it is nice to have another English guy on board.

Have a great evening everyone.

Howdy

Prayers to all in Need!
Welcome aboard Danny! I think I'm the furthest North Yankee on here? We don't have sweet tea but the kind MacDonalds has...and I don't hunt(unless we get to tag along with friends!)
And...CORKY, WE have a BnT! Granted he doesn't and couldn't hunt if is life depends on it...but he's a BnT for sure! LOL...And Bob would LOVE to get a hunting BnT in the future. Me? I sure hope I get to own a blue dawg again, I would take a NICE reddawg in a second too...and there is a chance we might have a piece of an Eng. dawg someday in the future... I like a NICE houndie Walker(Bob thinks they remind him WAY too much of the beagles he grew up with= 30 plus at a time in the kennel... ) We sometimes admire a Plott hound if it looks houndie enough...and I think i covered all the breeds? lol....
Nice day here, was supposed to rain all day and hard but we only had a lil bit of rain early on! YAY!
Well, I have to try to see wassup in all the breeds I follow!
Have a Great night, HappyHunting, Heather

71 and 11:20. Just got in. one drop one tree with one coon. Good night. Ok took ally my blue pup and rock the red dog. They hunted great together. Couldn't tell what one struck first I believe ally, he did tree first. But remember shes 6 months younger. (vabluegal I love her ) They most have ran right into it. They sounded like two teenage boys going threw puberty. Lol

John thanks buddy. I thank he'll fit in just fine here.
Rob cant wait tell you get that knee fixed up buddy. I no its killing ya. Talk to English Bob earlier today. He is heading back to the beach friday when he gets off to spend some quality time with the wife. I told him to make sure he posted this weekend.
Danny sounds like you got some gud ones.

Have a great wednesday gang.
Prayers for all.

What a nice hunt last night. Me and a budy turned loose, stuck right out the box run about 150 yards, treed a nice one on the creek. A buddies young do took up the hill and started trailing, cut the other two in on her and ran another 50 yards and treed. One of the biggest white pine trees I have ever seen could not see anything due to all the limbs. Cut one more time no sounds what so ever loaded up and came home.

Shawn,
I love when they hit one hard and it seems as though they do not know exactly what kind of bark to use.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Prayers for all.

Shawn there is a lot of bear being treed from most everyone I talk too so many in fact are there around here its get harder to coon hunt I have no ideal why a bear would be in poor mountain last night

A young reporter went to a retirement home to interview an aged but legendary explorer. The reporter asked the old man to tell him the most frightening experience he had ever had. The old explorer said, "Once I was hunting Bengal tigers in the jungles of India. I was on a narrow path and my faithful native gunbearer was behind me. Suddenly the largest tiger I have ever seen leaped onto the path in front of us. I turned to get my weapon only to find the native had fled. The tiger leapt toward me with a mighty ROARRRR! I soiled myself." The reporter said, "Under those circumstances anyone would have done the same." The old explorer said, "No, not then - just now when I went 'ROARRRR!

An old man and his wife have gone to bed.
After laying there a few minutes the old man farts and says, "Seven Points."

His wife rolls over and says, "What in the world was that?"
The old man replied, "It's fart football!"

A few minutes later the wife lets one go and says -
"Touchdown, tie score!"

After about five minutes the old man farts again and says -
"Touchdown, I'm ahead 14 to 7!"

Not to be out done the wife rips another one and says, -
"Touchdown, tie score!"
Five seconds go by and she lets out a squeaker and says -
"Fieldgoal, I lead 17 to 14!"

Now the pressures on and the old man refuses to get beat by a woman so he strains real hard but to no avail. Realizing a defeat is totally unacceptable he gives it everything he has but instead of farting he poops the bed.

The wife looks and says, "What the heck was that?"

The old man replied, "Half-time, Switch sides!"

WOMEN'S RIGHTS

The following took place at an international conference for women's rights.

The first speaker, a lady from England stood and said, "During last year's conference, we spoke about being more assertive with our
husbands. Well, after the conference, I went home and told my husband, Barrington, that I would no longer cook for him and that he would have to do it himself.
After the first day, I saw nothing. The second day, I saw nothing, but on the third day, I saw that he had cooked a wonderful roast lamb."

(The crowd cheered).

The second speaker from Russia, stood up and said, "After last year's conference, I went home and told my husband, Ivan, that I would no longer do his laundry and that he would have to do it himself. The first day, I saw nothing. After the second day, I saw nothing,
but on the third day, I saw that he had done not only his own washing, but mine as well.

(The crowd again cheered).

The third speaker, a Jamaican lady, stood up and said," After lass year's conference, I wen home and tole dat lazy husband of mines, Dingo Jack, dat I was froo pickin up his beer cans, cookin his tucker and washing his undaweah and dat he was goin to haf to do dem himself.
(The crowd went wild with cheering and clapping that lasted for five long minutes).

She continued...........................

"Afta da first day, I nevah see nuffing.

Afta da second day I nevah see nuffing,

A fellow finds himself in front of the Pearly Gates. St. Peter explains that it's not so easy to get in heaven. There are some criteria before entry is allowed.

St. Peter asked the man, "Were you religious in life? Did you Attend church services?"

"No."

St. Peter told him, "That's bad. Were you generous? Did you give money to the poor? To charities?"

"No."

"That too was bad. Did you do any good deeds? Helped your neighbor? Anything?"

"No."

St. Peter was becoming concerned.

Exasperated, St. Peter said, "Look, everybody does something nice sometimes. Work with me, I'm trying to help. Now think!"

The man said, "There was this old lady. I came out of a store and found her surrounded by a dozen Hell's Angels. They had taken her purse and were shoving her around, taunting and abusing her. I got so mad I threw my bags down, fought through the crowd, and got her purse back. I then helped her to her feet. I then went up to the biggest, baddest biker and told him how despicable, cowardly and mean he was and then spat in his face".

"Wow", said Peter, "That's impressive. When did this happen"?

"Oh, about 10 minutes ago", replied the man.

Two good old boys were walking down the street with two trout each under their arms.

Two vacationing Yankees, that have had no luck at all fishing, walking in the opposite direction see the two lucky fishermen and ask " how did you catch those ?"

Well its like this! Billy here holds my legs over the bridge, and I grab the trout as they swim up the river. We got four trout, A great days fishing!

So the fishless pair look at each other and agree to give it a try.

They get to the bridge and John calls to his friend "hold my legs now Ken".

Well he is hanging there upside down for thirty minutes when he suddenly cries.. "pull me up, pull me up!!"

Ken asks " do you have a fish John?"............

No replies John, "there's a dam train coming!!!!!!!!"

Two city slickers from Illinois were out deer hunting in the Georgia woods. They decided to separate to get a better chance of catching something. Albert says to the Sam, who is on his first deer hunting trip, "If you get lost, fire three shots into the air every hour. That way I can pinpoint you and find you." After about three hours Sam finds he is really lost. He decides to fire three shots into the air as Albert told him. He then waits an hour and does it again. He repeats this until he is out of ammo. The next morning Albert finds his friend Sam with the help of forest rangers. He asks Sam if he did what he told him to do. Sam answers, "Yes, I fired three shots into the air every hour on the hour until I ran out of arrows."
