well it;s over, i;m sad and glad at the same time, we ended up killing 6 bear, no dogs hurt bad and no one hurt so we had a great season. i hope 2014 is better than 13 has been but the lord has let us live to see another and we are thankful for that. Well.. I'm GRUMPY! WOke up stuffier again Grrr... I'm so sick of not being able to do it all! End of complaining!
Cold here but not atypical. Around 35 and tonight ice and rain. Monday...50 for a high then TWELVE for a low! lol... the extremes! 14 for a high tues...then kinda normal again. I haven't been outside in so long and i"M bored silly...but that is complaining! lol... I can't go out cause when I'm at all sick my body temp. regulation goes out of whack and my body temp goes way too low. Bob just came in and said there are deer and bunny tracks all over the place. I miss going out there to look...lol.. Soon enough I'll be fine and get BUSY again! GREAT news is mum still has not gotten sick at all! YAY!
Nice Pix Shannon! PS...with your anemia does your body temp go out of whack too? My anemia is all gone but the body temp thing stayed.... You stay WARM!
OK... off to see wassup and I'll talk at ya later, have a great one and PRAYERS to ALL!

miss heather, I sure do know what you are talking about !! I get so cold , my body does go out of wack ! when I was driving to the grand my heater in the jeep wasn't working, it was 30' . it was all I could do to make it to the grand! it takes 2 hours from my house to get there.. I did have to stop at mc'ds to get warm for a min.. I couldn't move my fingers, and I couldn't think straight..(that's nothing new lol) I stayed as long as I could, and made it home to hurry and make me a fire in the fire place . I sat there for hours before I could get my self together..im feeling better today ! ITS funny because when im hunting in this cold weather I don't seem to get this bad.. I guess its because I was sitting still driving.. my legs were shaking driving down the road..thank God I made it !
I had a good time.. I hate it I didn't get a picture of me and chloe.. she was way to busy .. but enjoyed her dearly..

corky... I saw some very NICE black and tans !!! very beautiful.. there were so many people there I couldn't get good pictures.. I think this year there were more people at the grand than ive ever seen !!

ever one stay warm !! and keep those hounds inside !!!

Thank God some one agrees with me !!! The wind here is up to 45 mph .. And the low will be 9 !! I'm majorly .... Majorly... worried about The outside dogs !!! I have packed the houses and moved roo's barrel up toward the front of the door , bc the is a storage box there that will block the barrel from the wind ..any more suggestions .. Any one ... Howdy y'all! Temps dropn fast an the wind is brutal pose b -27 tonight an tomorrow with wind chill!

Shannon jus make sure they have plenty of bedding they b alrite an I put a heatn pad in our older dogs box this morning she gets really stiff an slow n the winter I also hung a blanket over the front of her box an 1 of the other older dogs box! I'll post a pix for ya!

Vablue.... Thank you so very very much !!! That's what Ray does ... I do have the barrels plenty of hay .. But my concern is .... When I touch the barrel its cold .... I'm thinking of laying something over the top of it to hold the heat and .. Yes I'm gonna do the front just as you said ... thanks for the picture !!!! Love the heating pad !!!!!! I'm So glad we think a like !!!!!

ALL of you Southerners BE careful in this cold! You AND your critters are not aclimated to it..so do ALL you CAN. IF you lose one...try not to fret over it...because you can only do what you can do. Not everyone can bring them in etc... so just do your best and REAL important be SURE they have frequent thawed water, extra water on food etc... We are PRAYING for all of you and anyone in need!
HEY WB, that luck may be reaching me... I stayed in bed just about all day and got up feeling a bit better, even DID a few things. Walked around looking at deer tracks since it was WARM! (knowing the cold is coming)... Felt good to move around. Then I came in and did a couple chores and proceeded to SLEEP for a few more hours! LOL...
Corky, know how you feel. YOu stay well and be GOOD!
