Tim, Gettin ready to head to Girard gonna take Robin. Brownie is huntin his black female. Was gonna show Smoke but Brownie was hauling a barn home they took down up in the city and his truck broke down, so were only gonna make the hunt. I'll let ya know how it goes.

Won 2nd at Girard tonight with 17 month old 'PR' Mad Dog Tree Rockin Robin (Turk X Lou). Had 500+, 150 circle, and 125-(handler error got trigger happy). First dump had 1st strike and she got treed 1/4 mile deep other 3 dogs went in 3/4 mile they treed them while i was shinnin. Robin had her coon by herself and they had a coon. Next dump had 3rd strike and the track sounded pretty hot the other 3 dogs kept goin and she treed behind them again, walker dog pulled back to her. Had the coon. Turned into the 2 dogs still runnin she struck back in first for 25 and i took 2nd tree. Had a coon. Next dump it was just me and the walker dog other 2 withdrew. Got 2nd strike and they ran a old track a long ways. She checked a tree but it wasn't quite right i treed her. She must have checked herself barked to the left once about 50 yrds took the minus then the walker dog came into it and i treed her back in for 2nd. Circled the tree. Last dump had very little time left walker opened, she never did, and he checked back in took the minus. Time ran out. They had 10 dogs in the Open Reg. 1st had 425 2nd 375 and 3rd 225. A spectator on my cast told me that was the hardest treein blue dog he'd ever heard. I was pretty proud of the little girl tonight. Paid no attention to the other dogs and held a lot of pressure.

You boys won't have time to pull away from the hunts for a pleasure hunt since your on a roll with Robin. Planted bermuda all weekend but did manage to hunt with Bob Haney tonight. Bob told me he won third at Girard with Gambler.

A quality that I like to see in any young dog is the ability to hold pressure when treed. Ole Turk is putting a lot of tree, heart, desire, independence and locating ability in his pups. Not just one pup here and there but some in every litter that he has sired (that are old enough to hunt). What I have been seeing and hearing is that when a Turk pup gets treed you don't have to run to them..............Tim

These Turk pups are comming on strong. Of 5 that I know of, they all carry the same traits of independant track driving dogs lookin to put a tree on the end of it. Plus you KNOW when they tree. The spectator from Okla. on Timmys cast the other night said Robin was the hardest tree dog he has ever heard. She settles in on a tree with a long locate and then will double chop non stop.
Ole Smoke trees pretty hard as does Ranger. Dannys Turk pup is a radical belly up on the wood tree dog too. Haven't seen any of them pay a whole lot of attention to what the other dogs are doing unless it's the track they are on and if the other dogs tree and these pups don't like it they will go on and put it up some where that they know the coon is there. Not many blanks with them.
Got a couple of walker boys that are hunting Turk pups now and they like em!

Had a call last night from Bill Caneal in WI, he sure is proud of his Max pup. Max is from Hill Billy Millie X Turk and is really doing a fine job. Bill is going to Eldon to pick up another Turk pup but does not plan to hunt he wants to give Max some alone time...............Tim
