Each Church has its set of by-laws ,which are to be followed by all its members. I feel terrible that you feel this way. If it is causing problems in your family life I would definitely take the 6 week course, to make them feel better. You with your strong faith ,may be the Rock that makes your families faith stronger. i'll pray the Lord gives you a answer

BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST,

FIRST OF ALL, I THANK EACH OF YOU FOR THINKING ENOUGH ABOUT MY SITUATION AT HAND TO RESPOND IN SUCH A CARING MANNER. I POSTED THIS TIME OF TRIAL ONLY BECAUSE I KNEW I TRUSTED YOUR OPINIONS ENOUGH TO HELP ME REACT TO THIS SITUATION THE WAY JESUS WOULD WANT ME TO REACT.

SO FOR THAT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

NOW......... AFTER MUCH THOUGHT AND PRAYER, I CONTACTED THE PASTOR AT THE CHURCH WHICH I ATTENDED AND HAVE JUST RETURNED HOME FROM A VERY LENGTHY VISIT AT THE CHURCH.

OUR DISCUSSION WAS CONDUCTED IN A VERY CHRISTLIKE MANNER WITH DUAL RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER AT ALL TIMES. MY CONCERNS WERE MADE KNOWN AND THE CONGREGATIONS BELIEFS AND CUSTOMS AS WELL. I RESPECT THEIR CUSTOMS AND BELIEFS BUT I ALSO ASKED THEM TO RESPECT MINE AS AN ATTENDING WORSHIPPER. COMMON GROUND SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN FOUND BY BOTH PARTIES INVOLVED.

IT WAS ONCE AGAIN MADE CLEAR THAT I COULD NOT RECEIVE COMMUNION WITHOUT 6 WEEKS OF INSTRUCTION FROM THE PASTOR. I THEN WENT ON TO PLEA MY CASE..............

" SIR, IF A CHRISTIAN, LUTHERAN, AND PRESBYTERIAN WERE STANDING AT THE BACK OF THE WORSHIP HALL, ALL OF THEM BELIEVING IN THE ONE GOD ALMIGHTY, AND THERE STOOD JESUS CHRIST............... AT THE ALTER AT THE FRONT OF THE CHURCH, BREAKING THE BREAD AND BLESSING THE CUP AS HE DID AT THE LAST SUPPER. WOULD HE TURN TO THE THREE AND ONLY INVITE ONE OF THEM TO COME FORWARD AND RECEIVE THE SACRAMENT?......................................................................................................................................I WAS NOT GIVEN AN ANSWER, ONLY A BLANK STARE.

I THEN FINISHED BY SAYING " SIR, I AM POSITIVE HE WOULD INSTRUCT ALL OF THEM TO COME FORWARD TO RECIEVE THE SACRAMENT BECAUSE HE LOVED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM EQUALLY, BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD."

WE CONTINUED OUR DISCUSSION AND EVEN AGREED ON SEVERAL TOPICS. WE THEN DISMISSED OUR CONVERSATION WITH A VERY SINCERE WORD OF PRAYER AND SHOOK HANDS WHILE AGAIN REMAINING CHRISTLIKE AT ALL TIMES. I AM ONLY HUMAN, BUT I DO INDEED KNOW THAT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE LIGHT, THE TRUTH, AND THE ONLY WAY FOR ME !

I ASK THAT JESUS CHRIST CONTINUE TO SHOW ME WHATEVER PATH THAT YIELDS THE MOST GLORY TO HIM! HE IS THE POTTER AND WE ARE THE MERE CLAY !

Hey Brad was just catching up with everyone's post's on here and ran across your's about communion. I know what you are saying about the classes. I grew up with a very strict denominaton and unfortunately they as well as the one you attend have their own set of guidelines that they follow. In all due respect to them that is what the founder's and elder's of these denomination's put in place. I don't particuarly agree with them but I also understand that if they are a Bible preaching church and the pastor preaches directly from God's truth then God can bless that church and it's member's as well. I now attend a church that has no denominational ties and anyone that has personally accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour can participate when we have communion. As you have already stated you have a Christ-like attitude about this and you have been praying about it reguaraly so my advice is remain in truth and steadfastness with God's will and he will work this situation out with you and your family. If you are happy with the church and the pastor and God is fulfilling your needs in this church I trust that you can maybe find a way to do what it is that God want's you to do in this situation. My opinion is prayer. If God wants you there he will keep you there. If God wants you elsewhere he will put you there. Hope this helps and I will pray for you. Sincerely Clayton Nisly.

Mr Ron I aint got a lot to say except I love the LORD with all my heart. It is great to to serve such an awesome GOD . I feel everyone needs to get there heart right with him and he will bless you more than anyone can imagine .
