Well all basketball is done. Now I hope I will get myself in gear and hunt these hounds. We shall see.

MAGGIE IS IN HEAT
I have decided not to bred her this round. I'd rather try to finish her to Grand this spring so I will wait.
She is driving my males crazy right now and last night if someone was to call to by a dog they probably could have bought one. Living in town suck but I can't stand a dog barking period.

I had a nice hunt last night with Dragon and my buddies young Walker male. Jeff Wyatt has a male that is as loud as any I have heard and isn't afraid to get on the bush. He and Dragon sounded so good and put the meat on the limb. Of course next drop they beat the coon to the tree and Dragon went on but still come up with zero. I will be back at it again tonight.

Maggie will be ready to bred on Wed -- Saturday but at this point I'd rather try to finish her to Dual Grand this Spring and breed her this Oct if all works out.
I still have time to change my mind.

Charlie Wyatt and I had a good hunt last night with Dragon and his female named Charlie. We got a nice boar treed and and legit den. We and good tracks to run and they did well. On the way home we saw a possum on the road so we did a little possum 101. I think they would have rather stayed in the dog box because they where trying very hard to get back in it. :-) Alway a training and always trying to get the best out of my dog. No mean No when it comes to possum.

Thanks Terry for the compliment on Dragon. He is doing nice so time will tell.

He went 435 yard and got treed on a double. I loaded him up and made another drop he got in the about 200 yards worked quick track and slammed treed with the meat again. I called it a night.

He and I ventured to the Grand National reunion. We gave it our best shot but came up short. My legs gave out so I came home a day early.
Dragon go treed to himself and treed well with others. Last night we go beat on a tiebreaker 350+ I made a bad call and he covered my mistake but just my luck. He did well for a 12 month old young dog. If he continues he will bring in the yellow slips in no time. I really enjoy hunting this young hound.

I just need to take him to the hunts and actually hunt him during the week.
I have been focused on this Dragon pup and Lumber had to sit and watch.
Earl did a good job calling him and the final break came his way at the end of the hunt.
Must take the wins as you can get them.

Congrats on getting a NTCH win. Finish him out before you get too serious about putting Dragon in the hunts. Been my experience that you can ruin a young dog with a bad cast when putting them in hunts too soon. Take care, Ron.

Steve Stader my buddy has passed away yesterday. I'm not sure yet what will happen to Lumber and his other blue dogs yet? Kelly said she will talk with me about them if the family members are not going to hunt them then she will have to sell some dogs.

I can tell you Lumber is a real good hound from pen to tree and is accurate. Hell he may end up back here. I hope the family will hunt them but I don't think any of them competition hunt so I really don't know yet what is going to happen. I will let everyone know when I found out what is going to happen to them.
He has two female pups that are granddaughters to GrNite Hindeman's Broadax Max which is Alberts sire Lots of old blood in these 11 month old females.

As far as I know he is still in Indiana. Steve Stader son has him and some other hounds. I believe all of them are old Uchtman breeding. Broad Ax Max blood on the young females.
They also have Dual Grand Uchtman Timber Seman in storage which I would have to sign the breeding papers on if you where to buy any. I'm not sure if they will sell some or not. There is 5 straws left I believe.
So if you believe in the old blood it doesn't get much better than Lumber and Timber.

May also have some Uchtman Timber seaman for sale. Not sure on that yet. Lumber is a nice well balanced hound that deserves a chance in the stud pen. You won't find a better bred old Uchtman bred hound top and bottom.
