Thanks guys,
Toby was the dog to beat both nights. He sure looked good. He is gonna be a very competitive hound. Last tree he had 1st and 1st with the meat hanging bringing him to 412.5 I believe, but then he backed two dogs on an opossum. Came home again as a loser.
He is young at 18 months. He needs some schooling. Few things to be straightened up with him that has been neglected.

Way to go with Toby this weekend Bill! It was great seeing you & visiting for a little bit. I talked with Tim Parry, the guy hunting the walker gyp (Girl) in your cast Satrday night, & he said if not for the bad break you guys had he wouldn't have done any good. For as young as Toby is & being able to compete at that level makes me think he has a very bright future ahead of him! Keep up the good work with your hounds Bill!

Yes it was a tough break for this young hound along with other things that I did not like about this cast. He shows me that he has a great future if nothing happens to him like it did to his mate.
I always enjoy seeing you and Harry at the events and looks like snow done alright Sat Nite. Wish you could have advanced on.

Yes, he is gonna be some kind of tree dog. Hope he turns out to be a good balanced hound. Time will tell. When one at that age stays treed for the time it takes you to walk 400 yds. to him then I would say he will be a tree dog. I could tell he was getting tired. Sure glad you found the young hound of yours. Could have been bad where he was. Magic will be proud of those pups of yours. Enjoyed our hunt as always. Decided to stay in tonight. Talked to Nick and he says he is liking the action of the pup we gave him.
Gonna go north tomorrow night and take my young Dozer female to a friend to hunt for me. Just got too many here.

Thanks James for the kind words. I am liking the two of them. Toby shows me that he should be a good competitor. Very nice young hound with a nice mouth.
I will be breeding him, (Toby) to some nice females later on and will give you a puppy if you want. Sorry some bad person stole yours.

Took Sambo out again last night, 6th time in the woods 6 months old and he opened on track, has a great big locate and split from Mattie and held pressure. Starting to hunt out now. Wont be long till he will be hunted alone.

Hi Bill. One of the last ukc hunts for the year in ontario was last nite. Ken hauled Duke to it and finished him to nite champion. Now time for a good hard hide season and a little growin up so we can compete with the big boys next spring!

Did Rose end up catching. Hope so cause seems like a great cross.

No pics as of now but will get one here before long.
There were 6 puppies from this cross. (Grand pups of Utchmans Hawk and Pounder).
From the ones that I have heard about, the owners are satisfied with them. One here in Ohio I hunted with at 5 months of age would tree its own and is now a tough little female.
The female here is dong fine and hopefully after this season she will be as tough as I anticipate. Good mouth.
The one Luke spoke of is out of Sam and Rosie.
Sambo, the 7 1/2 month male is off of Sam and Dan Rosiers female, Zee. Neither is off of Dozer.
Sambo split treed from my Nt.ch. Mattie last night. Then he was hunted alone and struck and ran track treed with the coon.

Luke, Sure glad you guys made Duke Nite Ch., CONGRATULATIONS.
Yes, Rosie caught. She is big. I am hoping she can raise them ok.
I like that cross also.

Good hearing from you. Hope you and your son have a great season. You are blessed to have a son to hunt with. Hopefully one of the young hounds excite you.
Sam has been reproducing some very nice pups. Some that I feel are exceptional but now, he is having some problem with his reproduction system.
Wouldn't you know it, but I am confident that the specialist that is taking care of the problem will correct it along with the help from the man above. Most of the test that we have ran has been in Sam's favor. He is on medication now and will be retesting him in 4 to 5 months from now. The expenditures for the services have already exceeded 1500.00. He is the best I have owned or handled so I will do all I can for him.
