another night of hunting don't seem like the coons are running early, he got treed a mile away in big hollow, took a while to get to him, when got there he was coming in and out on the tree, I thought he was losing his mind but soon fold out what was happening, we were in yellow jackets a lot of them, stung the hell out him and us. this the second time this year this has happen. unbelievable he won't leave that tree because it didn't take me long to get out of there.

Hi Spencer, Sounds like you had a bee problem too - Took Jewels to US Redbone Days, Doug showed her Friday and she won the ACHA Jr. Female class then she won the All Red Bench Show - Got Best of Show Champion Female - under 3 judges.
On the Sat Red bench show and the UKC bench show, I showed her. I took her in the pavilion before the class to let her look around and some bees got after her. And she does not like them...no way shape or form. Well.... that just ruined it for her, because she didn't want to have nothing to do with being in that pavilion, I had her on the bench and a bee got in between me and her while she was stacked and she blew up on me. Sooo the rest of the classes were done for her. She wouldn't stand still for nothing and wanted out of there. She gets her mind made up and that's the way it is for her.
Had some nice compliments on Jewels, she's still a pup and has her moments, she can beeeee to attentive with her surroundings and wants to see everything. But she'll grow up one of these days. Good Luck!! with your redbones. We met a lot of nice people and had a great time, food was great and the facility was very nice, seen a bunch of real nice redbones. And a lot of white squirrels to - so did the dogs.

sounds like she doing a good job for you, glad to hear that you had a good time, I wanted to be down there but my club has a hunt the same night so I had to stay and help the club. haven't got to hunt much scenes ARD because of work. thank for keeping me posted spencer

She is doing good, trying to save her back for the bigger shows, may have to finish her next year. She's in heat and she cut the pad of her foot pretty bad. She licks off everything that I put on it, so I guess she's going to take care of it herself. But I will give her some antibiotics. We have 3 females that came in at the same time, I wish the 4th one would have come in but she's a pup. The male dogs are going crazy...I guess you can't blame them.

won his cast last night at the R.Q.E in Columbus Illinois. extremely dry conditions here, hunting been very tough, real proud of dozer. don't know if I will get to go to the simi- finals because of work, I sure would like to give it a shoot.

Congratulations! Hopefully you will get to go. I was wanting to take Jewels to Columbus, but she is in heat right now, and her foot is healing but she is still ouchy on it.

sorry to hear about rowdy, he'll be missed!! dozer put on a show Saturday night got deep by himself with a coon, sow and kittens, had hard running track for the last, good night for the redbones roger prior lady female that me and him own got a second place on her,she just year old, nice little dog

Congrats Spencer - Just to update you on Jewels, she won the Champion Female class at the Bluetick Sec. at Flora. We went to the ACHA WORLD HUNT & BENCH SHOW. JEWELS won the Female redbone class at the ACHA World bench show. ((((Jewels *IS* ACHA World Champion Opposite Sex Redbone Female)))) Doug got 3rd in the Jr World hunt with Blade.

Jewels is the tight footed and straight. I think she gets it from Dozer, I knew the first time I seen him, I wanted a pup out of him. And I didn't even get to pick her out of the litter.

Jewels is bawl mouth on track (fast track dog) and a beautiful locate on a tree and rolls over to a chop. Real happy with her. Don't know if I want Doug to hunt her, but I'll decide that later.

sure glad she doing good for you! congrats on her wins, straight lets , tight feet, looks like a hound, dozer has the looks, dozer drive a track like he's going to catch the coon, he is one of the fastest around my part and most of the time a first tree dog. I hope she has a lot of his traits. I will be hunting couple of his pups this winter hopefully they have some of his traits. good hunting!! hope you all have a good hunting season

Looks like our hunting season is not going to be very good - deer and coon season. Doug is facing 2 back surgeries and is suppose to have a 3rd one later. We have 3 young dogs that really need to go to the woods now plus the older dogs. So I don't know what we will do for now with the young dogs.
