We got 3/4 inch of rain last night that came with a storm and knocked over a pecan tree in the front yard and knocked out the lights from midnight to 5AM. Thank goodness for all these coonhunting lights. I couldn't find any candles. Last weekend a flock of deer got in my pea patch and also ate the silks of my current crop of sweetcorn. No matter though, it had already pollenated. Any way, I tied out a pup out there Sunday night to do guard duty. Last night was Wednesday night and during the storm that pup had done got lazy and let the flock back in , in the middle of that storn. I could tell by the tracks . If it was before the rain the tracks would have got washed out, if it was after the rain they would have looked brandfresh, but they had rain marks in them. Those deer a sharp though, I got to give them credit, they have done conviced the Florida Trophy Buck hunters that come up here if a deer can hear are dog bark, anywhere, it will interupt the deers normal cycle. Maybe it is the Biologist that sucker these Troghy Buckers to come here for their "wilderness " experience to shoot our Tame Deer that are yet smarter. Whatever , It makes the Flordah boys look DUMB.
