I guess it really dont matter where it is I hope to attend. I just wouldn't want folks to drive a long way and not be put in coon and have to hunt unsafe places.

If you want to win you'll HAVE to travel

I can say from actual experience running the "show" race of another KC - if you're SERIOUS, you'll put on lots of miles going to other states. The owner of the dogs I handled this year "running the race" has spent more than $15,000. He actually breeds HUNTING dogs & got caught up in show competition when I started winning on the bench with a couple of his hounds. Unfortunately I'm just too slow in the woods to participate in nite hunts too or it would have been more cost effective for him..
It takes DEDICATION to win these races! While I was in Kentucky I met a family that hunted every night in 2009 except for 31 days. Their hounds HUNT and WIN because they're dedicated.

I feel bad , for any body that lives and has to hunt in west virginia. There is no reason to have a state hunt in august. Its to hot, funky snakes and straight the heck up.Take a 50 year old man and a hard tree dog , it will kill them. I say everybody evacuate( leave).Dont even add any state hunts with mountains to the purina race.

MAN YOU REALLY ARE FREAKIN MOUTH PIECE ARNT YOU.

IF YOU BACK AND LOOK AT MY FIRST POST ALL I SAID WAS I LIKE BEING ABLE TO GO TO THE STATE HUNT AND DRAW THE DOGS THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO BE SOME OF THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY.

I WORK FOR A LIVIN AND HUNT WHAT I BREED. I CANT GO ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND RUN THE PURINA RACE. I AM TICKLED TO DEATH FOR THOSE THAT ARE ABLE TO DRIVE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO BE ABLE TO DRAW THEM.

AS FOR ME PUTING MY MONEY WHERE MY MOUTH IS. I HAVE WON PLENTY IN last 10 years. INCLUDING BUT NO LIMITED TO WV STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, 2 times OPP SEX STATE CHAMPION, 4 TIME 1st PLACE NITECH AT STATE HUNT, and 1st GRNTIECH WINNER! I have won at other big purina hunts that I am not going to list. THE PUPS I HAVE BRED HAVE WON MORE THAN I CARE TO TRY AND LIST!!!

This is at a state hunt that draws from 80 to 100 dogs every year.

AT MY JOB I WORK FOR THE OWNER OF THE LAST THREE PURINA HOUNDS (CLAIR CHENOWETH). HE IS A GOOD MAN AND HECK OF COMPETITIOR. I HAVE HUNTED WITH ALL THREE OF THOSE HOUNDS AND I PROMISE MY HOUNDS CAN COMPETE.

With statements like this, you show how much you are willing to do to promote the sport of coonhunting!
