For me, I cant get out of the Pennsylvania trip, but they say Ive gotta go. The Wife has said it would be good for me to have the experience. Ive been told it is the country part [near the Amish country], so it might not be so bad. But the last time my kin went to Pennsylvania,[with GEN. JEB STUART CSA], it didnt turn out so good [remember GETTYSBURG!!] Anyway, I hope I dont starve to death or die of thrist[ no sweet tea, no biscuits & gravy, no grits, no turnip greens, no banana puddin, no nothing]. I hope they have KFC fried chicken at least!! The thing that I forgot to tell yall is Im gonna get to do some coon huntin while Im up there,[ I hear they have got the coons]. Im just dreadin the drive up there though[ thats the one thing that still hurts my back after my accident, RIDING IN A CAR FOR THAT LONG [8 TO 9 HOURS]!! Pray for me my Southern Brothers, Im 44 and its my first trip UP NORTH, GIVE ME COURAGE LORD JESUS, LET ME STAND LIKE A STONEWALL[JACKSON OF COURSE] AND GOD BLESS YALL ALL.
I just got back from a trip to western PA with my girlfriend to visit her family. They made "sun tea". It was good and they had sugar in it. At resturants ( Bar and Grills) mostly, if you ordered tea, there was a 50/50 it would be sweet. Down here now near Hilton Head there are alot of transplanted Yankees that have opened resturaunts and they don't serve sweet tea. Go Figure! Anyway, those Yankees must be from further up north. LOL. I liked the western part of PA and we went to the middle part in the mountains. Those mountains didn't seem as high as western North Carolina and therefore less spooky to drive in for this flatlander. They even had grits, yuck. I was hoping to get away from gritz.
