Please tell me what "somewhat sweetened" means?

Is that like "half baked" or "almost done" ?

Cleo, DRAMA? Hehe!!

Hey, I hope you have a wonderful lunch with your son. I love those moments with my baby. I'll pay any day just to see his handsome face sitting across from me. It's even a bonus with Aimee Jo there

I know it girl!

I can wait on the grand's right now, but I love every second that I get to spend with him! He took me all the way to OH for Red Bone Days last month cuz he didn't want me to drive alone. He is a blessing!

Hug that baby! They grow so fast!!!!

Yeah, well, I wasn't asked what I thought about a grand until after the fact!! LOL..But, it all changed the moment I heard her take her first breath...Although, I have requested NO MORE for a while!! I am having Aimee withdrawals now. I hate that she is old enough for school. I wished she could stay little forever!!

Wow! He was a real sweet heart to travel with you on that haul!! I hope ya'll had a great time.

I just got back from a trip to western PA with my girlfriend to visit her family. They made "sun tea". It was good and they had sugar in it. At resturants ( Bar and Grills) mostly, if you ordered tea, there was a 50/50 it would be sweet. Down here now near Hilton Head there are alot of transplanted Yankees that have opened resturaunts and they don't serve sweet tea. Go Figure! Anyway, those Yankees must be from further up north. LOL. I liked the western part of PA and we went to the middle part in the mountains. Those mountains didn't seem as high as western North Carolina and therefore less spooky to drive in for this flatlander. They even had grits, yuck. I was hoping to get away from gritz.

Yea! My family would rather have plain rice buttered up, even for breakfast. LOL Must be a lowcountry thing. Not only that, hold the sawmill gravey and put the peas or butterbeans on the rice.

Nothing wrong with buttered rice and all. Heck I eat beef steak for breakfast sometimes. No , I'm not totally a grits man. Lots of folks here that don't like grits too.

That's not uncommon around here ~ Aiken area. (the rice thing) Call it Geech (not sure 'bout the spelling) or something.

You just won't see it in Waffle House or places like that.....My boys are big rice eaters.....

then again, so are my hounds.....

I love butter beans, tomatoes and rice all mixed up. No need for meat at all unless ya got some fried squirrel.

My daddy was from the upstate. He didn't care for grits either. He told me when he was a kid eating breakfast one morning, one of his brothers commented on the lumpy grits. His daddy looked at his older brother and asked if he had remembered to turn the rooster around? My dad knew the rooster roosted on the lip of a barrel on the dog run. It took two years before he was tall enough to look in that barrel and see their was no grits in it but by then he was ruint on the thought of grits. He said that was his families sense of humor.

I saw the now famous Paula Deen cooking and explaining all the different ways to cook grits on her cooking show one time. There's a lot of ways to do them and I like nearly all of them. I like a wide variety of foods other than the traditional southern dishes though I do like most of it. Im not a picky eater. I do not eat oysters on the half shell. Like them prepared other ways though. Most sea foods I do like.
