Good work Buck Shot

Well if anyone would like to get the collar companies involved, since the HSUS video says that the use of collars makes us lazy hunters.

E-mail the following, I will have more later.

Tracker Tracking Systems at info@sportdog.net[/email]<info@sportdog.net>

Dogtra at
admin@contactmickey.com <admin@contactmickey.com>

LL Electronics at
zoe.cullen@fauna-flora.org

ATS Trackers
[email]contact@ATStrack.com

So e-mail these companies and tell them about HSUS ask them to get involved.

I will be doing my part and e-mailing them

ANOTHER THING

Talk to school principals/superintendents about talking to the children. Bring a couple dogs, your equiptment, and facts about what we do. INVITE THE PARENTS or other extended family. Get our names out there. Get the children talking, invite other people hunting, do seminars.

We are going to beat this sooner or later.

HI MEGAN, hope you took a real good read on my email...look at how similar we both are :]

Good day to you

Yellow Tail wine donation to HSUS

Yellow Tail Wine Gives Money to HSUS
Sportsmen Urged to Voice Protest

The Australian maker of Yellow Tail Wine has pledged $100,000 to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest anti-hunting organization. This partnership offers further proof of HSUS’ work to spin its animal rights message in a way as to seem mainstream.

As HSUS states on its website:

“… the HSUS has paired with [yellow tail] for the "tails for tails" program. Through the end of March, you'll see special [yellow tail] displays bearing The HSUS name and logo in stores across the country.

Through "tails for tails," [yellow tail] is donating $100,000 to support us and our programs to help animals, including our Spay Day Online Pet Photo Contest.”

Alerted to this relationship, the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) immediately contacted the American distributor of the wine, W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd., and urged them to ask Yellow Tail to sever its relationship with HSUS.

A copy of the letter the USSA sent to management can be found by clicking here. Thus far, the USSA has not heard from W.J. Deutsch regarding our request.

“This wine maker has fallen into the same trap as other companies who donate money to HSUS,” said Bud Pidgeon, president of the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance. “They believe they are helping animals in shelters when in fact they are funding an agenda from an animal rights group that is largely divergent from the vast majority of Americans.”

Take Action! Sportsmen should contact W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd. and inform them that they disapprove of Yellow Tail Wine’s relationship with the HSUS. It is important that W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd understand that each dollar given to HSUS is another dollar that can be used to attack hunting, fishing and trapping rights. Further, tell them that sportsmen will be forced to select alternative brands if the relationship with HSUS is not severed.

W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd. can be contacted at:

White Plains, NY 10604
Tel: 914-251-9463
Email: info@wjdeutsch.com[/email]

Ask to speak to Bill Deutsch, W.J. Deutsch’s chairman or Peter Deutsch, the company’s chief executive officer.

HSUS/PETA Same Hidden agenda

From PetPAC
Last year in Washington D.C. the ‘Congressional Animal Protection Caucus’, formerly known as the ‘Friends of Animals Caucus’, and strongly supported by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) announced their intent to impact federal pet legislation.

Last week in California there was an announcement of the formation of the 'Legislative Animal Protection Caucus’. The Chairman of the California Animal Protection Caucus is Senator Dean Florez, the author of SB 250 which called for mandatory sterilization of pets. The caucus is being pushed by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) who supported AB 1634, the mandatory sterilization bill which was defeated in 2008.
PetPAC believes the solution to problem animal shelters is a “no-kill” policy. HSUS and PETA have refused to support a “no-kill” policy. Apparently they believe it’s better to euthanize dogs and cats than to develop legislative policies which will help place sheltered animals in loving homes.

Let Yellow Tail Wine know HSUS LIES!

Dear Sky,
Thank you very much for your email. We recognize that many consumers have commented on our donation to the Humane Society.

We’ve listened to your recent feedback and it was very helpful to us – in fact it prompted us to specifically choose the areas where we’d most like to celebrate animals. Here’s what we’ve decided: We’ll still honor our monetary commitment to the HSUS, but now we are specifically directing our $100,000 donation to HSUS’ Animal Rescue Team, which launch on-the-ground missions to rescue animals in peril. The HSUS Animal Rescue Team is a leading disaster response agency for animals, contributing millions of dollars to rebuild animal shelters destroyed in natural disasters, responding to floods, fires, and other disasters.

We may not always agree with 100 percent of what an organization represents, but rescuing animals displaced from natural disasters is a cause we support.

It is our policy to continually assess the impact of all of our charitable gifts and consumer feedback is extremely important to us. We hope that you will understand that this allocation of money is a direct result of hearing your concerns. We are listening, and we thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.

Sincerely,

[yellow tail] Wines

HSUS has NEVER been able to prove and show how they used millions of $ collected for Katrina animal victims.
This email is in response to my email entitled "SHAME on Yellow Tail Wine for funding HSUS."

yellow tail wine & HSUS

Yes I recieved the same e-mail letter back from yellow tail wine. They only give money to the HSUS animal relief fund, what a crock. HSUS was at the Katrina disaster. I read somewhere that they pulled out of katrina and just dumped the animals on local shelters without anyhelp at all. If anyone can find this e-mail it to those at yellow tail. In the HSUS video of Megan Sewells did it not say the animal shelters were over run and then they pull out and do not help them.

Here's a letter I just sent to the HSUS,

We the people, the majority of the United States, are calling on all
HSUS and PETA members and supporters to undergo medical sterilization.
I hope you understand, since Ignorance breeds, we have to put a stop
to this immediately, we are hoping for one generation and out.
thank you......John S Blom

Just got her reply, I guess she wasn't against my idea, cause she didn't mention it:
The HSUS has more than 11 million members and constituents, making it a
fairly mainstream organization. You may believe that we are out of step
with the beliefs of the rest of the country, but judging from the amount
of support we receive, the public is very supportive of stronger laws
protecting animals.

So I mailed her back:
Hound hunters do not make up the majority in any state, Hound hunting
is very specialized, it takes a lot of patience to train a successful
hound. My hound is four years old, she's a Bench show champ, and Grand
water champ, she'll never be a Nite hunt champ, but she's a fun
pleasure hunter. Thats four years I've put in to training her. The
equipment is very specialized also, on an average night, a coon hunter
may be carrying a thousand dollars of equipment, dog box, training
collar, tracking collar, receiver, headlamp, etc. Hound hunting is
also very strenuous, it takes a lot of walking around the woods and
swamps at night, if the dogs get out of hearing, you need the tracking
system to find out where they are, if they're over the mountain,
you're going over the mountain to get them back! The new GPS collars
are great, you can see where the dogs are heading, and if they are
treeing or not, if they are heading towards a road, you can head them
off. Sometimes, there's no scent (no raccoons are moving), so if the
dogs aren't barking, you can't know which way they're heading,
tracking collars enable you to find your dogs. Any way this brings me
to economic impact, dog related activities in West Virginia (figures
prepared by a state legislator) generate approx. $191,918,000.00.
Thats 1/4 the total economic impact of all hunting and fishing in the
state, total is approx. $800,000,000.00. Times that by 50, plus or
minus, and you get quite a large amount of money brought in by hunting
and fishing in the U.S. How do you figure to replace that? Your donors
are tricked into supporting your cause, our donors give willingly. You
have to lie and generate false sympathy to attract supporters, our
supporters are born into, and live it for their entire lives. Our
supporters pay for all wildlife management and conservation. Do you
contribute to this at all? How do you think state Fish and Game
departments operate? They are funded 100% by our license dollars! P.A.
fish and game gets nothing from the state, without our contributions
through license sales, there would be no public land or wildlife to
manage. When I read your "fact sheets" or view your website, I get
embarrassed for you and your supporters ignorance and misguided views.
It's really a shame you have to hide behind a noble cause to try and
pass your radical agenda

Here Here. That was a good one. Keep it up. I everyone would continue to send her e-mails and ask questions that would be good. Let her know we are not going away. Just remmeber to be polite.

I asked her what she has done for one animal this morning in the storm, probably nothing. I then proceeded to tell her what I did. How I waded snow to feed, water and check on my dogs.

But I seriously doubt that she will respond. Actually I do not expect her to, but I will keep e-mailing her.

She has not e-mailed me back the last several time I have mailed her.

Remember she reads these tell her Hello.

Just get my reply! she's Delusional!

According to the US Fish and Wildlife Service, wildlife watchers
contribute far more to the economy than hunters.

Our mission to protect animals from cruelty is supported by 11 million
Americans - that's hardly a "radical" agenda.

Come on guys, keep e-mailing facts!

Donors are NOT MEMBERS of HSUS

HSUS does not have a "membership."That's another bit of misleading info HSUS puts out. HSUS claims DONORS as members, but the donors don't contribute anything but money to HSUS operations. If you send money to HSUS they will count you as a "member."
Also - you can't change someone's religion with a few emails. These people believe in their radical cause the way others believe in their church's teachings. These people do not want us to own ANY domestic animals. And if you say you waded the snow to care for some of your animals they'll twist THAT around to suit THEIR cause. Remember - they don't believe animals should be "owned" because they want to make us guardians instead so that they can swoop in & seize them, then euthanize them so they won't bear the expense of maintaining them.
Also - HSUS President Wayne Pacelle has stated his goal of removing all meat, fish, poultry and dairy from American menus. HSUS has also stated a goal of ELIMINATING ALL HOUNDS. HSUS doesn't care about the economy - the goal is to shut down all breeders of animals as well as hunting and fishing. Actually, HSUS is probably thinking that by responding they'll win some of us over to THEIR "religion."

I sent her figures from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service which were definitely in favor of hunters and their contributions to conservation, I guess this pissed her off:

Actually, according to the US Fish and Wildlife Service, while hunters
contribute $21,976,621,000 to the national economy through their related
expenditures, wildlife watchers contribute $40,561,910,000 to the
economy through their related expenditures, which means that wildlife
watchers contribute nearly twice as much to the economy as hunters.

"State conservation efforts" typically benefit hunters, certainly not
all wildlife, and many of the actions funded benefit the general public
in no way. Pittman-Robertson funding, from excise taxes on all guns,
ammunition (from all gun owners, not just hunters), boating equipment
(the majority of boaters are not hunters) fund state wildlife agencies.

Still, none of these statistics justify the abuse and abandonment of
hunting dogs. The majority of the public opposes this abuse. It is not
the HSUS that is in the minority in thinking that this abuse should not
be tolerated, it is the hunters who justify and deny this abuse.

You were rude from the very beginning and will not receive further
responses.

She tried to one up me from the start, now she claims wildlife observers contribute 40 billion dollars to wildlife, I have a call in to the USFWS to see if she speaks the truth, I highly doubt it.
Someone else can have their turn now.....john

Did the Humane Society (HSUS) Fail to Account for Political/Lobbying Activity of Personnel on IRS Tax Filings?

WSB-TV Investigates HSUS Fundraising Practises: Is There More?
Published on 16 May 2009 by ESaunders AR-HR.com in Animal Rights, Human Responsibility, Legislation
Thursday May 14, 2009, the first day a mainstream media organization dared to publish an investigation into the fundraising practises of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)._ WSB-TV, the Atlanta GA affiliate for ABC published an article and video segment titled “Where Humane Society Donations Really Go“.__
The WSB-TV article addressed a number of important points that are commonly mis-understood about the Humane Society of the United States:
The Humane Society of the United States has little to no affiliation to local shelters and local Humane Societies, despite having_a name that leads_to the convenient_ but mistaken identification of the HSUS as the parent organization.
Only a small percentage of donations made to the Humane Society of the United States are granted to local shelters and Humane Societies._ In 2007, less than 6 million dollars were handed out as US grants out of_ over 152_million* taken in (less than 4%*)._ Of the almost 4%, a large percentage of the grants were handed out to organizations that did not provide direct care to animals in need.__
After Hurricane Katrina, Humane Society of the United States fundraising efforts raised 34 million dollars._ By 2 years after Hurricane Katrina, only 52% (18 million)_ could be accounted for as spent on Katrina-related activites._ The connection between reconnecting animals with their owners, the premise for the Hurricane Katrina fundraising, was tenuous at best for a number of the projects indicated as supported by Hurricane Katrina funds. _As of the 2 year mark, funds related to the Gulf Coast began to make a shift to HSUS legislative goals again.
Channel 2 attendance at a local HSUS meeting found the 2 hour discussion to be dominated by activist planning and lobbying efforts.__This impression was confirmed as accurate by Cheryl McAuliffe, Georgia Director for the HSUS._ Ms McAuliffe also confirmed that all budgeting was directed from the Humane Society of the United States Washington headquarters
By Friday morning, there was a response from HSUS CEO Wayne Pacelle claiming WSB-TV had used discredited_source information from the Center_for Consumer Freedom (CCF).__It is difficult to understand how Mr. Pacelle can take the position that the CCF information has been discredited when it is able to be verified independently using HSUS IRS documents and HSUS press releases._ Mr. Pacelle also indicated that all funds raised for the Hurricane Katrina crisis have been spent helping Katrina families and pets, yet this is also established as dubious, based on HSUS press releases. (unless introducing items such as cock-fighting bills_are counted in this position) By Friday evening, all links to this ground-breaking and courageous article had disappeared from the WSB-TV website.
Yet, the most interesting result of the investigation is a point not (yet) pursued by WSB-TV._ Is the HSUS in compliance with requirements to maintain its 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt status?_ According to Cheryl McAuliffe, Georgia Director for the HSUS, activist and lobbying efforts form the bulk of her activities._ Yet, according to IRS 501 (c) 3 regulations:
“In general, no organization may qualify for section 501(c)(3) status if a substantial part of its activities is attempting to influence legislation (commonly known as lobbying)._ A 501(c)(3) organization may engage in some lobbying, but too much lobbying activity risks loss of tax-exempt status.
Legislation includes action by Congress, any state legislature, any local council, or similar governing body, with respect to acts, bills, resolutions, or similar items (such as legislative confirmation of appointive office), or by the public in referendum, ballot initiative, constitutional amendment, or similar procedure._ It does not include actions by executive, judicial, or administrative bodies.
An organization will be regarded as attempting to influence legislation if it contacts, or urges the public to contact, members or employees of a legislative body for the purpose of proposing, supporting, or opposing legislation, or if the organization advocates the adoption or rejection of legislation.”
_Yet the_Humane Society of the Unites States dedicates_a significant amount of resources to its efforts to introduce and influence legislation as demonstrated by the portion of its website tracking HSUS legislative efforts at the state and federal levels as well as through ballot initiatives._
This raises an important question. With an income of_over 152_million annually, is the IRS being cheated out of substanial revenue if the Humane Society of the United States is not in compliance with the 501 (c) 3 charitable organization requirements?__ The HSUS claimed involvement in 140_ legislative bills_at the state level in 2008 alone, has claimed credit for a great deal of legislation in 2009 and publicly acknowledges_’urging’ assorted_legislators on a variety of bills._

Sports Illustrated

I got an "out of office" response from the National Sales Director at SI saying he's not with the company anymore. There was an email address for a lady in charge of SI Kids that you could send a message to. Not what I would call a high ranking exec but I sent her one anyway, no response.

here's her email

eileen_masio@timeinc.com

maybe if we fill up her inbox she'll forward it to someone in public relations.

I'll get more email addresses on here.

Fighting the animal rights groups is like the war on terror. Stay the course and don't quit. The troop surge worked in Iraq so lets have a houndman surge on the AR groups!

email to megan

Megan,

How do you like this hornets nest you have stirred up? Nice isn't it? Notice I didn't address you as Ms/Mrs or Ma'am? Well that's because where I was raised we use those terms to show respect and since you painted us "hound hunters" with a broad brush and showed us no respect,I don't see any reason we should show you any respect in return. I may be a little dog in this fight but I promise I will do my part on educating anyone that will listen on the hsus propaganda campaign. I myself have emailed and called all my state reps, congressman, and even our crooked governor of the state of Alabama. I have contacted several companies that support your bogus company. I have contacted all the companies/vendors that sell or manufacture the hunting supplies that helps fund wildlife conservation that you have aimed your sights on shutting down. I have talked to several local vets that feel the same way us "hound hunters" do about Hsus and their BS campaign. They have agreed to help spread word here locally with us. You know the more I dig and read, us hunters are not the only ones helping spread the word. Seems Hsus is being investigated for lots of issues by lots of organizations. They along with us "small dogs" will one day put YOU out if a job and put YOU out of your way of life, and make YOU loose something that you have a passion for! I truly look forward to this day. Hound hunting has been around for many many generations and will be here many many more generations. Just like all you tree hugging hippies trying to get the 2nd amendment taken away, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! Just remember all us "backwoods, redneck, hillbilly, county boys/girls" are nipping at your heels and we have a voice that will be heard.

Good Luck,

Barry Green
