I was surprised to read in this thread where a self proclaimed breeder trashed another mans dog as a cull trade dog while reccomending his dog as a breeding sire and the dogs are full brothers.

Makes you wonder what it would take for some folks to cull a dog ... but , anyone who has hunted with many BLuetickers knows that most of them call a dog a pup til' after they have had a litter of pups or two .

i could not agree more!!!!!!!!!!

it blows my mind how we beat each other up. imo there has not been but a few post on this thread that actually understood what mr. roger was asking for, that is obvious by all the comments like " i dont want something to get a mile deep before blah blah blah.........................."

he wants to put more drive and hunt into his dogs......... that is not that hard to understand. it really is that simple.

this was not intended to turn into this mess. i dont blame him a bit for not responding to this junk.

Along with a good hound that does more than his share of winning comes the trash talk on the dog.

Sounds like this man has a dog that people should be interested in breeding to! What is his pedigree? and what part of the country do you live in?

Justin, I dont know about you but I usually cull a dog between the ages of 6 to 10 months old. You can ask anyone I hunt with that I dont waste any time on a dog. I can usually tell in about 3 or 4 hunts if I am going to like him or not. I have also sold some that made good dogs, but I have absolutely NEVER hung on to one that just didnt turn out.

I also now for a fact that a.j. had one thing on his mind when he was cut loose.................tree a coon. seen him miss twice in probally 40 drops or so. I think you should re-read the post Kelly and then determine if I was comparing your dog to anybodies.

You guys are not seeing things the way I am. Read your post! You just said you reccommended breeding to Rock. You then said right after that, you have hunted with 8- 12 hounds off A.J. and that should be enough to get a feel for what he is throwing. I see that you liked A.J. and he looked good in front of you, but you still made the recommendation on what you saw out of AJ. Thats when I said what I did ( I admit it was a little Harsh). I know AJ was probably better when Rock wasnt around. When he was hunted with Rock he was content to just follow Rock around most of the time. So we would drop them seperately so AJ would have to work harder and he began to tree coons by himself. Ricky then put about 6 months hard hunting by himself and he got much better and was ready for the hunts. But anytime you turned him loose with Rock it was the same old thing.

Frosty Blue BOBO

Heres my pup out of bobo and a female littermate a buddy of mine hunts. Both these dogs have been treeing there own coon since 6-8 months old, will get split and stay till the sun comes up. As far as i know bobo is throwing some super hard hunting pups that are getting it done at young ages..
