I know everybody has a bigger plan and a better way and this may bring out some ugly in some people because of how and methods used to train but not why I am posting this.... but this is what I use and if it will help ya then good luck with that.
Cheap and easy and fast to build and use.
I can carry a couple of these and bait a long way off the beaten trail of most and some woods are plowed and planted all the way around and no driving access...cross a creek no problem..take dogs and bait with me..no problem.
These are my feeders before they get painted and hung....1st of all I use some corn but mostly popped corn in em...and a peanut butter jar near by...both are put in saplings and not big trees cause I dont want them to climb the tree the bait is in..I want em to run off and leave a track and then tree,,,dont want the dog just treeing right up the tree its on.These help to get pups a good track to strike.
It is a 8ft sewer pipe that runs about 8 bucks..cut it in half for 2 or at 32 inces for 3---you end up at about 5 bucks per feeder.
a cap for each end-top cap has 2 screws but leave enough to wrap wire for handle-bottom of tube and cap I cut a slot and heat so it dont break to bend ,,,,2 screws and these are not put in all the way to wrap wire around tree and connect to tube
then I wrap a wire around top of tube just to keep it from tilting....then fill...popped corn is cheap...I seldom use corn or dog food.
