Tonight was the last night of kill season. I was kinda wore out so just took Smoke out for just one dump. Got one started pretty quick and treed about 500 yards later with the coon. Got him shot out and went home.

Paul and I went down for a hunt with Mike Moppin last night. We took Ranger and Sally, Mike took Joker and Ring. Lots of den trees in their part of the country but we finally treed one on the outside. Dogs looked good and we had a good hunt with two Turk pups, one Joker pup and a grand pup of Wacker.

Timmy and I hunted with Tim and Paul last night. Made 4 split trees 2 more with the dogs together. Ranger and Smoke split from each other on the second drop and treed 50 or 75 yards apart and they both held a ton of pressure and by the way Tim I still say I saw a coon look out of the hole in Smokes tree.haha
Paul hunted a pup out of Big Boy and she is going to be a nice one.
Ranger got in deep on the first drop, man can he cover some ground.
I thought that all the Mad Dogs looked good, worked some good tracks and seen some awsome tree power.
We enjoyed some super good friendship alot of BS and had a super hunt...........Roy and Timmy

By the way Tim, Timmy went back to the last tree Smoke made tuesday night and found the Garmin!!!!!

Timmy hunted at Lebanon but didn't get a win. First drop Three split trees, Smoke had his coon and a walker had his coon the other two walkers had a slick. Smoke 175, walker dog 200. Second drop Smoke had 2nd strike 1st tree on a den with the one walker dog backin Smoke. Third drop Smoke got 2nd strike and 1st tree all the dogs backed him but there was some adjustment for tree position and Smoke let them have it. That one was a den also, but the minus killed him.
Timmy said that Smoke looked good but just couldn't handle the fang pressure.

The dog that ate Rowdy up (at the State Hunt) was a Walker dog from Lebanon that has done a lot of winning in PKC. I can see why they hunt them in PKC or select UKC hunts close to home where their owners are made judges and they never get scratched.........Tim

That's kind of the same tactic I am familiar with down here too. I don't understand why the mean dogs I have come across have all been Pkc dogs. (not saying all PKC dogs are mean). I'm still trying to figure out what the deal with that is. The sad thing is that some people are breeding those dogs.

Hunted Robin by herself again last night. Hit on a cold track made a couple of losses but got it warmed up and pushed him hard. Treed in a big hedge tree. She did a good job and treed her heart out. Had the meat. I got a few pics and will post one later.
Started to turn loose again but the rain started comming in so I headed for the truck. Man did it rain, this ought to settle the mud. Might make for easier walking.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I had a real nice thank you typed up last night and when I hit submit UKC crashed, suppose something to do with the message about site being down on the 20th. I wanted to go out tonight and see what I have but very leary with the wind we have and will be a week or so before I get my garmin. I just wanted to say thank you for all your help now and also thank both you and Paul for all the work you've done over the years to allow me to grace my kennel with this fantastic blood I have here now. With what you 2 have done for the Bluetick breed you could pretty easily talk down to most of us on here, but you don't, you simply treated me and my son like lifelong friends and answered any questions I asked. You are truely great people as well as truely great hunters and breeders. I really enjoyed meeting you both in person and look forward to many more good times in the future, thanks again, Jay.

There is an article in the last BBOA Bluebook on the Mad-Dogs. I will have to say that my brother Paul was the biggest influence in me becoming a dedicated Blueticker. It was his coat tails that I rode on for quite a while, now we walk side by side.........Tim
