She is nice. Deal and Perculator are almost exact same style of hounds. When we breed them we know what we will get. No wondering if one trait will make up for another. They both will only open on a runable coon, medium to a hot track and will only open now and then and then slam a tree and hold pressure. They will get it done in a hurry and both have no reverse. Should be a fun kill season.

Kill season opened in Kansas tonight. It fell on my birthday this year. Dad and I have hunted together on my birthday since I was 4yrs old and I turned 30 today, always following a mad dog. I've hunted with the last 7 generations of Deals pedigree. We had a good time tonight hunting Deal, Ralph, and Perculator. We treed 5 singles, hunted the dogs solo except for one dump. I've never had a dog cover the ground a get treed accurately like Deal does. He can get it done fast. I snapped a picture of Perculator on the tree tonight she had the meat by herself on this one.

Paul talked to Dale Imhoff and his Wi-fi dog is making a nice coondog. He is really liking him he is off of john II x and I can't remember the females name. He also has a pup off of whacker x blueberrie II that has been treeing since 4 months old and is going to be a good one. I would say keep your eye on these 2 dogs in the future!

Kevin from Nebraska called dad and his smoke x Wendy male is becoming the top dog in his string. Said he's the best coon dog he has owned. Kevin is a pleasure hunter and will probably keep him in the country.

The Macintosh's from Louisiana called and their Deal x Robin pup is coon crazy and coming along nicely showing a lot of promise for 6 months.

Here's a pic of our newest project, Wendell (smoke x Wendy). 7 months old treeing wild coons. Lots of natural ability. this is him on his third trip to the woods. No coon hide hanging up there. Pretty excited about him, big mouth, lots of natural treeing instincts, and decent to look at. Time will tell but I'm hoping for another young gun pup contender come May.

Here is a pic of Wendell's sister ( Smoke X Wendy ) that Joe Barbosa is hunting. Seven months old and super loud hard treeing little female. Her and Wendell are looking great for being so young. Last night was a little cold but still doing great even though hunting is a lot tuffer this time of year.

Smoke has sired some good young dogs but we can't take nothing away from Wendy either. She is a fantastic reproducer. She has crossed really well with Jet V and Mackie's Jet dog and crossed on Smoke there are a few in the country that people are proud of. These two young dogs are giving us that fun boost to hunting this time of the year.

Had a good short hunt last night. I'm really excited about my Wendell pup. We sent Ralph and him first dump, Ralph struck at 250 Wendell struck in shortly after. Ralph got it lined out and slammed a tree @ 450. Wendell backed him pretty quick and treed every breath till I arrived prob a good 10-15 min. I shot the coon out and he likes the fur in his mouth. I asked dad this morning to look up his birthdate and he was born June 8th, so they won't turn 8 months till Feburary. This was his 5 th trip to the woods.

Joes been huntin his 7 month old Wilma pup (smoke x Wendy). He's really enjoying watching her progress. He sent me this pic last night. Said they treed 2 trees w coons. I guess one tree was next to a pond dam and when they shot the coon out it jumped out and went in a hole in the dam. She went in the hole and drug it out fighting. Joe said she sure ain't scared of getting bit. Lol

Hunting sure is going through the tuff stage right now. Dogs have to go a long ways to get struck and last night Ralph and Wilma just made two den trees. Wilma is getting independent and really trying. She will be nice.

Went to the first local competition hunt of the new year to Paola ks. I took Deal, I hadn't put him in any hunts since early summer. Ended up winning 1st place open reg. 350+ no -. Got part of one coon and 1st and 1st on the second coon. It was a cold cold night and the first tree was. 900yds and the second tree was 1.6 miles from the truck. Did a lot of walking. I think he needs 5 points to make nt ch.

Tim finished Deal to Nite Ch last night at Nevada,Mo. with another first place win. He said they had a really good hunt and again Deal got one by his self and part of another with the other dogs.

Now to start working on making Ralph a NiteCh. Ralph has a first already so it wont take long.

Still hunting Wendell and hope to have him ready for the puppy division of the Young Guns at Bluetick Days in Batesville.

Joe said he would like to take Wilma ( Wendell's sister ) to Batesville also. She is doing great. Super loud squall mouth and a hard tree dog.

We bred Dual Grand Wendy to Dual Grand Smoke again but had bad luck with the pups and only saved two males. They are blocky headed good lookin little fellers. This has proven a super cross in the past.
