HELLO!
Merry Christmas to ALL!
We had a nice time at Mums for Christmas Eve and were there WAY too late! LOL.... Ate so much I could STILL burst! Bob's Homemade Mac and Cheese(for our vegetarian son, Richard and his Beautiful Pregnant wife, Elizabeth) was a total hit and...OOPS... more people ate IT that the ham... and we didn't have enought leftovers for ALL of us today.... LOL "we" will have to make that again! His Praline Yams as always another hit...even to those who will NOT touch a sweet tater any other time! LOL.. Likewise his Butternut squash was fantastic! ME????LOL... I was "the clean up crew" and Brandon and Dylan were supposed to help. I decided trying to get MY OWN kids to help was NOT going to work so I did it myself. AND...(Bob was a bit miffed by this) me sisters didn't NOTICE I was gone! LMBO!!! We are SO far apart in age that we aren't as close as they are to each other....lol... I let Bob know it was fine I love them tons and they LOVE me... we just don't LIKE each other all that much since we are so different... Hey, I've been in this family ALMOST 53 yrs now and I'm happy!
So... today I woke at 6 am on the sofa(dogs were AWFUL last night and kept having to go out...I think giving Web his meds last night was BAD...) So anyway... woke and tossed them out the door to aBEAUTIFUL chrystaline dusting of snow... and that was all we got here.... Went up to bed and didn't get up till WAY late! Luckily Richard and Eliz. were so tired THEY got here WAY late! We had a NICE time, ate yummy leftovers(JUST enoughmac and cheese for them) and we still have a stocking for Kenny and his Girlfriend to open when she gets here...and some cards etc...LOL... The kids have been down in the band room for quite a few hours recording music and having a blast and introducing our yet to be born grandDAUGHTER, Hannah to "noise" lol... Eliz. looks amazing pregnant and I forgot the cam. last night... I had to "talk" to Hannah over and over all night I was so excited.... I was so glad they had told everyone now it's a GIRL!
OH, and the highlight today was me giving Richard a copy of Uncle Remus from before 1899(the book was a gift given in 1899 to a girl..passed dwon to her son and somehow ended up i my childhood home(auction?) My aunt and uncle had an auction gallery way back when. Anyway... Richard is going to do his masters degree around that book and a few others.... Hard to explain... and he had never looked at the copy mum and fa had cause it was so fragile(and he is a book collector)... SO I told the kids I had a "New Tradition" and opened it up to Little Black Sambo and read it in Dialect! It was Great to watch Richard's face look puzzled...and then to have me peel of the book cover I had made from Newspaper and hand his this precious old book.
I HAVE TO SAY... I think L. Lyle woulda been Proud of my ability to get thru the wording.
So, my dear friends, I will continue to browse while I wait for the next present opening session and I will wish you all a fantastic night with family and or friends!
Merry Christmas an dGod Bless, Heather
