Morning everyone,
Bad start to the hunt last night but finished it out on the plus with coon up the tree. 3 nights hunted about two hours each night and seen 5 coons. Shot one out. Hopefully get some up the tree over the weekend too.

Shannon,
Sent my entry forms off, yes will have the blue dog out there. Plan on driving down Thursday evening. I am excited about going and seeing everything.

Once again this year, I’ve had requests for my VODKA Christmas Cake recipe so here goes. Please keep in your files as I am beginning to get tired of typing this up every year! (Made mine this morning!!!!)

1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp. salt , 1 cup brown sugar, Lemon juice, 4 large eggs, Nuts, 1......bottle Vodka, 2 cups dried fruit.

Sample a cup of Vodka to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Vodka again to be sure it is of the highest quality then Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the Vodka is still OK. Try another cup just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver Sample the Vodka to test for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Check the Vodka. Now **** shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the Vodka and wipe the counter with the cat

James, isn't competition hunting a pleasure also? And Shannon he is right about the pigeons. When I was much younger I would shoot the pigeons at my granddaddy's barn with my BB gun and my grandmother would fry them or make pigeon and dumpling stew and we would eat them. Maybe we can do some pigeon hunting when we come down there. Will you cook them for us? BB, I know that you have hunted everything but have you ever gone pigeon hunting?

The only problem with a competition hunt is you can't choose who you want to hunt with. They should pick the guides/judges and then line everyone else up and let them pick their cast like we used to do it on the playground.

James and Richard .. I bet they do taste alike !! Dad use to raise doves too when he was little .. They are good !! Never had a pigeon tho.. King Richard ... Oh Lord just don't shoot none of dads racing ones.. Some are worth 3-4 thousand dollars .. Lol .. Dad would kill me .. Lol... A couple of them have won some major races .. Just a couple of weeks ago dad won 3,600 dollars for coming in 3rd place .. There were birds from over seas that entered the race .. I think over a 1,000 birds... It is such an amazing sport ..
Richard .. Are you gonna grace me with your presents at the grand?
James are you coming !!

Why yes I have. Some times when I am dove hunting flocks of pigeons happen to get within shotgun range. One time me and a friend shot 3 times each and killed 12 pigeons.

Good afternoon everyone. It was a beautiful day here. In the middle 50"s and lots of sunshine.

Dang that week of vacation went by pretty quick. I guess it is back to work tomorrow.

We used to shoot and eat the barnyard pigeons. Haven't done it for a long time but it was fun and they tasted pretty good.

WB - Nice pics.

Shannon - I am glad Molly wasn't hurt bad.
