Hey Russ,

Been a while. I kinda' got side tracked, if ya know what I mean.
I still have a young one out of Ol' Bud but the pickin's are gettin' slim. Time goes by fast and to keep up ya really gotta' stay on top of things or get left behind, especially in our sport. You are doin' a great job of keeping up and keeping the blood a little thick instead of too thin.

I like your way of Thinkin'. You are 100% correct, "Quality not Quantity". It's really easy to get caught up in all the hype and good fortune that comes with a quality breeding program but I see you are staying focused. Good luck...........Ron

Thanks Ron & good hearin from ya!! Life can take us in many directions & there are more important things in life than dawgs. Can always get another hound,it's that other stuff its hard'ta duplicate.

Doin our best to stay focused & pretty happy with the results so far. Lota luck I imagine but as they say "Rather be lucky than good" !

Take care of yourself!

Gettin sickening! Dogs holdin up real good though. Covered the kennels for shade & their water still cool from mornin till 5:00. Keepin the crete from direct sun a huge asset. Can't stand on it barefoot myself to long in the uncovered stuff.

It can chill out any time! Can't wait'ta see snow!!!!!

More 100 degree weather here! Last night at 11:00 it was still 89 degrees. Step outside & my glasses instantly fogged up & had'ta chew my air. For ever more dry. Rain comes, splits & goes around us every time. Headed towards two months of nothin other than two tenths of heavy sprinkles a month ago. Awful tough goin out there.....

It's crazy weather, we need a good weeks worth of rain. It wont help the crops, but make for better tracking conditions!

I was talking with a insurance agent the other day and he said 70% of the corn in Dodge County wont amount to anything. I noticed today it's starting to turn brown.

Lota deceased corn around here unfortunately. Beans are ankle high or so & their turnin brown now as well. Pastures don't look this dead when the snow melts off during mid-winter. Really a sad situation for sure. Potentially gona cause a bunch to turn belly up for lack of feed & the $$$ to buy it.

Guy told me that they are payin $8 a small square for horse hay. Also heard it is jumpin $50 a ton from one week to another at the local auction. Thats without the sky rocketing prices of corn, beans & the likes. Not gona be good!!!

Only good I see out of it is we won't hav'ta worry bout seein over the corn & thats not even a good thing really. Critters gona have a tough row to hoe this winter if we have much of a winter at all. Acorns fallin now & they ain't no bigger than a frogs ear. Basically a tiny cap sealed over on the bottom where the acorn supose'ta be.

Stage is set for a mother nature meltdown...... Hope like the dikins it don't happen!

ON A BETTER NOTE....

Talked to a certain someone today who owns a certain dog out of Patch x Sas. He keeps "BJ" in the porch area at night when he's sleeping. Well apparently at 2 AM he woke up to BJ poundin away and he was fixin to deliver a butt whoopin... Well upon further inspection he found that BJ actually went thru the window making a BJ sized hole thru the screen. Butt whoopin was now gonna get amplified. He went outside and found BJ treein his brains out on a coon out in the yard. Suddenly the butt whoopin urges died down, and he couldn't help but pat him on the head, even though his alarm was set for 4am.

Sounds like Colton is enjoying his new bachelor pad. He's out in the country and is thinking that his bedroom can also double as a ground blind.

I read an article about this just a few days ago and I hope the author is wrong. The article in a nut shell said that with the very mild winter we had the wildlife had a high rate of survival. His take was that mother nature always finds a way to correct itself. His belief was that with the drought we are having and all the crops that wildlife depend on dying, there will be little food for winter and this winter will be normal to severe. Its just one mans opinion but I hope he is wrong.

I'm with ya on that! My thoughts & studies pretty much in a nut shell as well. Really concerned the critters are gona pay big time "IF" we get even an average winter. Severe one & all we're gona need is a large supply of body bags. Scavengers will flourish & all we need is for the coyotes to increase more!

I have declared war on their scurvy behinds & prepin for it already.
