Our luck has changed.
Welch kid's red fever lit'l Ann (clyde/chance) got a first place win last night.
It was pouring down rain and she looked good scored 500+,100-,175 circ. All she needs is a 4th or better for Night champion.
She has a 1st and 2nd I was hoping to make night champion before she turns 2 on 10/31, but I don't think there is any more close hunts.

Congrats to Terry Goza and his CH PR Goza Sing Along Rock N Roll (Rip x Rose) on their 1st place win Friday night in Decorah with 650+, 400 circle, no minus!! That was Rock's second hunt. Rock is also just under 2 years old and is doing a great job as well. Great job Terry & boys!

(On a side note, I believe that makes 5 Rip pups with a 1st place win!!!)

Dale, Scarlett is looking awesome. She looks so much like Dice! You're doing a great job with her!

How many of the pups out of Clyde x Chance have placed in hunts, i see that Lil Ann has a 1st and 2nd, and Mercedes has a 1st (she has been in 2 hunts and would of won the 2nd one but the handler(ME) didnt call her right and lost the cast by 25points), Just wanted to no how the other litter mates are doing

Dusty, to my knowledge yours and Stacey's are the only 2 that have been in any hunts so far. Carl has a male and his friend Jason has a female. 3 males are dead. The female we had kept back was doing very well and was sold to a competition hunter, who had some health issues and he sold her to someone else. There was also a male in Georgia. We've gotten good reports back on all the ones still living. All run and tree coon, I don't think there is any lack of tree power, and I think more will see the hunts at some point, they're not even 2 years old yet so they've got some time. You and Stacey are doing a great job with your females. We love hearing about their progress and accomplishments....they are doing awesome for their age, and should only get tougher with age and experience! Keep up the good work with your girl.

Aubrey finally made a little time for the hounds, about time I suppose, season is almost here! Made 5 trees and seen 5 coon with Ox & Rattle. Diva went along too, it was her first time out to the woods, and she got in on a couple of the tracks & trees. She's a natural tree dog, and he's looking forward to getting her out more.

Garmins

Thank goodness for Garmins. Chief and Chance and Reggie ran a coon in a pile of old cement and with the rebar sticking out Chief got his collar hooked on one and when we got there he was almost choked off had to remove his coller to get him out. Sure got lucky

i always keep my collars very, very loose, my hounds can slip there collar and time they need, its saved there lifes more then a few times. collars font have to be tight to be effective. glad you were able to save the dog, it could have been a very bad night for you!

Opening Weekend

Busy weekend for us, however, Aubrey did get some hunting in each night. Friday night/Saturday morning was probably the biggest thrill. He took Ox, Tater, and Snake. Snake just turned 10 months and is off our Ox x Dice. It was his first night to the woods, and he ran the first track they came to with the other dogs and locked-down treed! He did a really nice job for his first night out, Aubrey couldn't be happier. The dogs had 5 singles, a den, and a snag.

Saturday night he took the old man and Sunni. First drop he did a typical "Clyde" move and caught one on the ground. Ended up with 7 coon and a couple dens. Sunday night he took the kids, Ox, and Cherry for a drop. Treed 1, and the kids were thrilled.

Looks like some nice coon there, Carl!

Dale, Aubrey sure does enjoy taking the kids along....and they LOVE to go. They picked up a few ticks carting that coon hide around though, so they've decided they'll just leave the carrying to Dad. It has been real decent weather, so its easier to take them and they don't get cold!

**Wanted to Congratulate Tim Chase and his CH PR Crazy Mtn Big Hunk Joe (Rip x Rose) on their 2nd place win last weekend. That gives Joe a 1st and a 2nd and I don't think those pups are quite 2 yrs old yet. Great job Tim & Joe!***

Aubrey took the kids out for another short run Monday night and Tater put a couple up.

Next was from last Tuesday (10/30/12). Josh Wilson came over and brought his 10 month old Rip x Joy pup, Digger, along. Digger did a nice job, he is definitely a treedog!!!

From tonight's hunt. Been a while since Moon has been in the woods.... She hasn't forgotten how its done!!!

Heres an update on Copper. He is really turning it on now and doing a great job. Other then the cut on his leg and the cow crap he rolled in on his neck he as turned into a treeing machine with Rose. Gonna start to single him out soon. Did take him out by himself after him and rose treed a few and cut him in a cornfield and he smoke the track and treed it but coon was in a den. Could see coon in crack but couldnt shoot it out. Would of been a good one for him. Hope things are going good for you guys.
