Folks I have hunted with Gus several times, this is a first rate Hound and Mike is a straight shooter to deal with! But his shooting does need work!

Thanks for the kind words about ole Gus ,Steve always has a fine walker hound at the end of his lead.We need to get together soon and cuttem loose. The ankle is starting to mend pretty good, still a little slow about getting through the woods but I will get there. Wayne Crabtree and I have been out a couple times and had some really good hunts,Ole Gus looked pretty good for being laid up sense feb 6. He`s a little too fat but so am I!!!!!

If I was hunting Blueticks I would Absolutely be hunting a pup out of Ole Gus , He’s not only a top dog but this strain has the looks to go with it. There are 2 females in Marion, Ohio that my cousin and a very good friend of mine has out of Jerry Gullets Brush Creek female that are Beautiful tree dogs and they both look good!!

I sure like the looks of Gus. The good ones get old a way to fast. I see where the reason bluedogs can't win is because they dont go fast enough or deep enough. I dont know about Gus but his mother went fast & deep. The critics thought she opened a little quick but she beat a pile of the critics best hounds. Dont over look this hound if your looking for that extra desire.

Gus at one year old with the meat. Gus was a good hound at a young age. I even think high of his owner. Dave

I had the pleasure of hunting with Gus"s mother Smokey River Hemi when my good friend Wayne Crabtree owned her Big motor~ quick strike dog~moved a track very well~ stay put treedog. Gus posses these same traits. but my favorite thing about this dog is his desire to be first and first. He 's a very competitive dog even at the age of 7. Theres not a mean hair on this dog ANYWHERE.I"ve had alot of good times hauling this ole hound here and there!

Thanks fellers for all the good comments . Ole Gus usually shows pretty good but he's just a dog some of us expect them to be perfect every night I'm still looking for that one. The weather finally broke around here and I just might get a little hunting in .-4 night before last its gonna be close to 50 tomorrow. Those coon are still ruttin so they should be moving good, maybe we'll get lucky and get one on the wood.

I had a blast treeing those Big Minnesota coon with ole Gus and Woody. Gus is one of the best tempered male dogs I’ve ever hunted with. He doesn’t have a mean hair on him nowhere. I’ve hunted a bunch with Gus he is a top hound.
