Hunted Panic tonite.

He was gettin it on tonite!! 3 trees within the first 36 minutes= 1 tree that went into a bunch of thick grapevines that went everywhere,no coon found,1 solid den and 1 tree with coon seen. I got him out of a clearcut cutover mess the last drop. Looked pretty nice for his second time out sence the snow came off. He still continues to not open on track! Why,I have no clue. Been thinking about taking him to baby stakes April 11th. It's on a Saturday nite of the spring SS. Sure wish this pup would start to put more mouth on the track. If he ever does,he'll be a good one I'm real sure about that at this point. That's the only hole I can find in him at this age. Gonna continue to hunt him and see how it goes in the future with him. Real nice locate and nice straight up chop mouth tree dog, just doesn't open enough on track to suite me,YET!! Hopefully it will show up soon! It's got me baffled!! Later,Danny G.

Swimmer's coming to the kennel

Going to meet up with Nick Mares today and bring Swim back to the kennel and hunt him some. Then eventually turn Panic and swim in the timber together and compare the two and see how it goes. Both have been treeing thier own coon since 6 months of age. Neither has been hunted but a couple times with other dogs so it will be interesting to see what happens. Sure wish the weather would warm up a bit more. Seems like as it gets dark, ground freezes and frost up right of the bat, not what I prefer to hunt a pup on!! Later,Danny G.

Swimmer has grown!

It's been a few months since I have seen him and he got tall and rangey and grew alot. He's pail faced on the same side of his head as Jet 8 is and if it wasn't for the 2 black patches, one on both sides, you would think he was 8's clone dang near. Gonna get him in the timber soon. I know this pup opens on the ground like 8 and Gauge did when I hunted them. Swimmer is the same way. He has a problem of getting a slick here and there so some things to do there as he gets older and before the leaves come on. Plans are to hunt him alone for a few nites, then cut him and Panic together and see how it goes. Swim is well put up also and has a good mouth and hard treedog. Should be fun hunting these 2 for a spell. Here's a pic of him! Later,Danny G.
Swimmer!
