Mr. Newlin,
My name is Terry Fiscus and replied to your thread earlier this year to get a valued opinion from you conserning how a female directly out of Cube would cross with my male. As I submitted in my previous thread about my males breeding, I recearched Duke's pedigree in more detail and realized that he is also a QUADRUPLE LINE BRED TOP AND BOTTOM HARDWOOD BOZO DOG. He is Hardwood Bozo and Threadwell's Hardwood Logan on the top and Hardwood Bozo and Stylish Clover on the bottom.
I am wanting to make and outcross and my question is do you think a female out of Cube would be the right choice to make an outcross on my male?
Not sure that it is an outcross. Logan's Wild Clover was a litter mate to Treadwell's Hardwood Logan, and both were out of Bozo. Now, having said that, that is a lot of generations ago.
Honestly, I can't answer your questsion, as I've never hunted with your dog. I truly believe that you get best results when you line up similar traits. I don't have a crystal ball, so I can't say how the cross would work. I know that Cube is reproducing pups like him, but that is because I'm breeding to females that share similar traits...so why would I expect anything different.
