This is the old female I am really wanting to breed to him. She's been my best dog for a very long time. She's had 3 small litters. As luck would have it I have no pups off her currently and she turns 8 this fall. I will say my biggest problem with her pups is most of them are big. She is average sized, and her parents were average, but they produced huge dogs... I am wanting to keep the cold nose, loud mouth, accuracy, speed, and bring down the size. She has wonderful conformation.

Had a call today asking if I would take a man hunting with Cube....as luck would have it, he was in the dog box and I was on my way to hunt him.....

Old man will still get gone and get hooked....

He will even try to get "up close and personal" with them....

I seen Cube tree coon so fast I didn't have time to shut the tailgate or put in a fresh wad of tobacco. Only to recast him and see him get hooked 900 yards deeper with a coon before I could finish taking a piss.
I don't know how anyone could not like the Cube dog. Did he frustrate me a few nights, you're darn right. He's a smart little critter that at times liked to out smart me! He was a blast to hunt and I can't help but smile when I watch reruns of Tailgate Adventures with episodes of Cube. When that little bugger comes on the wood, you can't help but grin, but the camera doesn't do him justice like cutting him loose in your own country and watching him work.
Coonhound magazines and this website are full of male coonhounds being offered at stud. There are a lot to choose from, but I can't think of a single one more deserving to be bred than Oak Ridge Clover Cubed. He is bred up tight making him the perfect candidate for linebreeding or outcrossing.

I toke my female up to breed to Cube 2 weeks ago she wasn't quite ready so left her with Jo and he brought her to Oaks to me. Wouldn't take any thing for keeping her. Not very many would do that. Thanks Jo enjoyed talking and Hunting with you.

Congrats to Jason Taggart on his litter of Cube pups. I've seen pictures of these pups and they certainly have "that look" about em. Cube is a dominant reproducer, and stamps his pups hard with Clover traits....starting with color!!!!

I did something yesterday that I normally don't do, I put a female in with Cube for fall/winter pups.

This female is a daughter of a litter mate to Hillbilly Delux, making her a grand daughter to White Trash (littermate to Cube's sire, the Joker) and a direct daughter of Skuna River Bear.

I am very impressed with my Bear X Clover pups, and these pups should be just as impressive....

Please don't expect me to book these pups, she is just now ready to breed, and I don't count my chickens until they are weaned! Just giving you some food for thought.

Here is the pedigree of the cross I'm in the process of making. Not booking pups yet, but giving you something to think about. My cross on Bear has been an excellent choice, and the opportunity to line breed back on Joker and Trash, and throw in the Homer's Gomer and Skuna River Lipper was more temptation than I could resist.....

CANYON CREEK DUKE

Mr. Newlin,
My name is Terry Fiscus and replied to your thread earlier this year to get a valued opinion from you conserning how a female directly out of Cube would cross with my male. As I submitted in my previous thread about my males breeding, I recearched Duke's pedigree in more detail and realized that he is also a QUADRUPLE LINE BRED TOP AND BOTTOM HARDWOOD BOZO DOG. He is Hardwood Bozo and Threadwell's Hardwood Logan on the top and Hardwood Bozo and Logans Wild Clover on the bottom.
I am wanting to make and outcross and my question is do you think a female out of Cube would be the right choice to make an outcross on my male?

Not sure that it is an outcross. Logan's Wild Clover was a litter mate to Treadwell's Hardwood Logan, and both were out of Bozo. Now, having said that, that is a lot of generations ago.

Honestly, I can't answer your questsion, as I've never hunted with your dog. I truly believe that you get best results when you line up similar traits. I don't have a crystal ball, so I can't say how the cross would work. I know that Cube is reproducing pups like him, but that is because I'm breeding to females that share similar traits...so why would I expect anything different.

CANYON CREEK DUKE

Sir thank you for your response.
Dukes traits are as follows:
Give a 110% every time you cut him loose. (Drive & Desire)
Excellant tracking ability. (Drifts cold tracks very well)
Brains to go with his tracking ability.
Exceptional cold nose that compliments his brains tracking ability and drive.
I like the Bozo stain and would like to make a cross with a female that would enhance his qualitys.
Thank you sir and please have a nice day.

Mr. Newlin,
I would like to apoligize, I told your wrong regarding the bottom side of Dukes's pedigree. He is Hardwood Bozo and Logan's Wild Clover.
Sorry about the mix-up and please have a nice day sir.
