Turned a coon loose for the Chip pup tonight. He right around 7 months old. Out of the TideXBluLabelLucy cross. Coon run a couple hundred yards thru some nasty stuff. Chip Trailed him fast and made him climb up a tiny little dead snag in the middle of a nasty prickly ash, sumac, juniper thicket that were famous for around here. Got some awsome footage over the dogs shoulders of him treein hard with the coon in the background. Video footage will be featured on the "Canadian Hide Season" DVD to be released next spring!

Until then heres a couple still shots.

I guess you & Fred called him right ? "Chip off the Ol' block" .He's looking good . He's got a littermate sister in W.Va. running and treeing with the dogs ,but she hasn't did anything by herself yet , and 2 more down there runnin turn out coon. We've taken Ice , 3 times ,he's working his own track and throwed a few vocals on the tree .He leads,listens,loads and rides good.We've not pushed him hardly at all . Season comes in this weekend and we'll see what falls then .Going to see Fred in the a.m. ( we are now in process of writing a new chapter in the Tide book) Anyway you must be eatin a lot of wheaties to be draggin and hoistin that OlBear around ! .......Dave

Hey Fred, How are you ? Didn't know you were trying to catch up w/ me . Dual Ch.Choctaw Blue Kate looks like shes bred . I've had her on vitamins since I brought her home and throwin the feed to her. Will be movin her into the bottom of the barn around Christmas where I'll have electric/heat for her.Then time will tell.Glad Ruby is doing good .I haven't had an open track on the ground since Thanksgiving . Just getting treed, anywhere from 300-1000 yds away. Most of the coon have been curled up snoozin.I've not been takin "Ice", kinda waitin for coon to get down and stir around some .I think they're runnin late in the afternoon and then layin up till after3-4 am ,and stirrin while I'm gettin those last few winks in before work LOL! Call me anytime .......Dave

Going good just not getting out as much as I would like I'm almost to 90 down works got me over a barrel and I think I broke my ankle at oaks and it giving me fits lately if been hunting buckeye and bobs Brutus male from NY and trying to get kat going better!

10-4 on the movie. Been snowed in here the last little while and not much huntin, but a January thaw is movin in for the rest of the week and hope to get a bit more action on tape. Definatly need to include your footage from october.

Did a turn loose for Big Chip the other day. Hes drives a track hard wide open. Hes been a little loose at the tree but gets better each time. Stayed good here. Overall for 9 1/2 months and very little time out he seems natural and shows great potential. Gona be a busy spring!
