you sure got that right. they want you gone because it cramps their style. they talk god, but when it comes time to hunt, the real devil appears. they tell lies, threaten and start all kinds of crap trying to get you gone, gang up with their buddies. i'm just gonna automaticly assume when i see them coming my way from now on. filing a complaint like ukc said won't work when buddies won't file it on them when they see it with their own eyes. but they'll file one quick against you if you defend yourself from these crooks. i was told its your responsibility to file a complaint not moh or HD. if so how is it they file complaint against someone defending themselves from these haters. thats why #'s are down at hunts, and them crooks want it that way.

DARWIN, did'nt mean to discourage you. there is alotta good in hunts too. its like everything else in this world, what really matters is why you're there. nothing else. its really fun, and real amusing at times.

enjoy yourself, and watch and learn. the real truth don't hide.
good hunt'n and god bless.

very well put Sir. I have only been in this sport a few years and am only 31, But was raised with old school southern values. If I win its cuz me and my dog earned it. If not its cuz we got beat.I look for every coon that gets treed and point everyone out that I find NO matter what. When I get home I can sleep, win or lose

I also look for every coon that is treed no matter what dog or the person it is. I look at it as the dog earns it not the handler. If the dog beats mine then thats ok Im perfectly fine with that. The coon event is suposed to be for the best dog that night to win. I think hunters has forgot the purpose and ethics of sportsmanship. I learnt from my father and what he instilled in me. I hope we can look back and remember where the sport came from and what its suposed to be.

That happened a long time ago for some. I drew a dog that was being handled by a guy that hunted some for another fellow. Well, long story short, my dog treed. When we got in there, Sam sat down on a log. After the tree was closed for shining, he said" Come here, I want to show you something." Yep, he had spotted the coon when we first walked up there. Guess I should be happy he got beat too. treed in for 2nd about 3 minutes behind mine on the next tree(s) and nearly 4 behind his on the one(s)..it was a split tree and beat both of us.

I cheat. I bend the rules. I cheat.

I just pleasure hunt...

and really enjoy it. I have thought at times about comp hunting. The reason being is to see some really good dogs...being as I mostly pleasure hunt alone. My drive would be to see some great coon dogs at the hunts. So that being said, I would shine for anyone, simply because I like to see coons in the tree lol! I am a competitive person and always will be, but I would never lower myself to bending rules or not shining just so I could win. In another thread someone said they thought that these "crooked" handlers were mostly fine people before and after the hunt. I can't abide by that. When someone changes their personal honor code depending on the situation they have no moral backbone.

Maybe I will get to meet some of you folks some day. I really enjoy reading the posts from you guys...and you can be sure, I will always be shining the tree...regardless if my dog is there or not.

All the best,

Tim

you said that right sir, and them are the ones that tell you how honest and fair they try to treat everbody. should be barred for doing that crap. sad part is they keep claiming ''truth'' and do it every chance they get when it helps them win.
i like to light that sucker up then and show'em, that aint no coon. thats when they play dumb and smart at same time, interpetating in that grey area. taking advantage, cheating.
then you're muttered a trouble maker behind their wall of ethics, and disliked.
