Well is was more exciting around my life today than watching dragon flies catching skeeters off the neighbors pond. It started out with me going to the farm to get Gertie. No problems. I head out west to I-75 and north to meet Hayseed in Gaylord. I'm about 30 minutes from the meeting when I meet State Trooper Flick at my window after being clocked at 81 mph. He was a nice fella and let me off with a warning about my speed and that north of Roscommon I-75 was getting nasty due to snow. Man was he right! I made it to Jay's where Hayseed and Gus were waiting. Gertie decided that she had to empty her bowels into my dog crate, so that was a mess. Didn't have much time to talk with Hayseed or Gus, as they were itching to get off the main land and back to the island. I stopped for a quick bite and headed south. I hit bad roads and snow south of Grayling on I-75. I had a couple close calls, but was making it fair going down the road. That is until I hit mile marker 205. I was in the left lane getting horrible back wash from the car ahead of me that was making it hard to see. I check my mirror and had room to go back into the right lane. I hit my turn signal and as I turn the wheel, I caught a pile of slush in the middle of the road which spun me backwards into the center median where I flipped my car a nice 360, breaking of the back bumper and breaking the rear axle. It's surreal to be going backwards at over 60 mph, and more so to realize your flipping over and stuff in your car is hitting your body from all angles. I ended right side up. My hands, feet and body were in the same position they were when this adventure began. Luckily some folks stopped to help and called 911. Less than five minutes later, 2 nice sheriff deputies rolled into the scene and they treated me well. The wrecker came and it was a local legend out of Sterling, Michigan who turned out to be a godsend for sure. His name is Mr. Harry Eccot owner of Sunrise Side Towing in Sterling, Michigan. Wonderful man. It turned out the nice sheriff deputies I met and who made sure I was taken care of were no less than Arenac County Sheriff James Mosciski and Undersheriff Donald McIntyre. I lucked out and got the best available, that's for sure. As Mr. Harry and I headed into the shop, we counted 8 more wrecks in the 12 miles we drove to the Sterling exit. They all happened within a 10 minute window off time when mine occurred. While waiting at the shop with Mr. Harry for the next 3.5 hours as I awaited my brother-in-law to come and get me, I had a nice time talking with Mr. Harry and his crew. I am indebted to Mr. Harry for his help as I called my insurance agent, as well as to my brother-in-law who braved nasty driving himself to come from Port Huron to get me. Thanks Brother Joe! To Sheriff Mosciski and Undersheriff McIntyre... I owe you both a big thank you too! The trip home with Joe was uneventful and it was nice to spend some time with my brother-in-law, who always has treated me too well. The wrath of my wife when I got home is another matter.
By the way, I had a colonoscopy yesterday and it was found I have colitis, with ulcerations... Not been a good week.
I also got home to find only 5 puppies in the whelping crate. After a quick search, I found Pat Quintance's pup in a dog box in the backyard. Momma Crow must have decided to start moving a few today, but only got one moved. Pups are so bid know I don't know how she even got that big dark male that far... What a day!
All this trouble that I somehow survived today got me to thinking about all these calls, e-mails and post from folks wanting to know this or that, or have me post pictures or pedigree... I just want to say no more tire kickers... please.!
If this cross on Rocky and Gertie holds and is made, it will be a cross due only to the grace of our Lord above and a Hayseed from Drummond Island, that's a fact.
If you want a pup... let's talk. If you want to kick tires... there are plenty of other pup sellers on here to do it with... I have 2 male pups out of Slew x Crow, 3 weeks old today. $250.00. Nice pups. Plenty of information in this thread to read up on the parents and their histories.
If Rocky and Gertie knot, Pups will be $250.00 with $50.00 deposit before whelping. After whelping any unbooked pups will be $300.00 each.
After all, this poppa needs a new car! Or truck...
Thank you if you took time out of your day to read this!
