He was linebred back to Combs and Smith's Smokey I got him at 5 weeks old from Jim Bagget I called him Blackpaw cause he was the only one in the litter that had black feet.I took him with us the first time at 5 mths old and he was on the tree when we got there.I told Jimbo if he's going to do that he might start early so I started hunting him and it wasn't no time he was striking and treeing in front of my NT CH Sady to cut it short he made GR NT CH at 17 mths old in the early 90's when there was 20 dogs at every hunt.I would love to have a clone of this old friend today. timberlake ace by gold creek mundo i owned 3 pups by him allwas running and treeing before 8 months oldone got ran over at 11 months made me sick, got another hewas doing great so got another,got divorced got rid of them the youngest one had just started she tuned out well her name was 100 proof brandy love to have a pup that goes back to her.

II Chance...I have too agree ...that pic of ole' Chief always made my mouth water...What a beautiful and proud hound. The stories Joe told about him only made it better. Back in 70's Pride Gann had a very solid hound named Nt Ch"Troop" that I had a pup off of and named him "Wallace"... this dog was one of the loudest tree dogs I have ever been in the woods with...130+ barks a min... never put a chain on him before or after the tree... he hunted on command... could cold trail, strike, and run to catch and lay up @ stay treed under any pressure... and the great part he passed it on to his offspring... i didn't competition hunt back then (hunted with Pride a few times) but I'm sure if I had the walker breed would know of him. I hunted about 8 pups out of him myself... you didn't train these, you just hunted them, they trained themselves... breeding / Troop on top was Banjo II -Sailors Ace bottom... I put in Finley River / Vickers Lill River Tom ... = one in a life-time crosses... couldn't resist sharing... be blessed guys good hunting...

I will take one any day as you just descrbed. Stan's Sailor Boy also comes to mind that i liked alot.
