I believe whoever stole your dog knows you and you know them. maybe some young kid wanting to buy a dog didn't have any money, maybe someone looking to make a few bucks, think back, who in your area knows were you hunt, knows were you live, and has called you looking for a dog that was in your local area. Ace might have just wonder out in the road and this person seen him stoped and picked him up. oppurtunity is all it takes.

.................could be...I'm thinkin somebody that hunts near them heard the dogs trailin' and went in and grabbed Ace, maybe couldn't catch Hercules off a track...........I just hope they get their dog back......Q and Christy are good friends of mine.........

OK. WHEN THEY HEADED ACROSS THE MOUNTAIN IT STARTED LIGHTNING AND STORMING REALLY BAD. IT CAME A MONSOON, I MEAN POURED THE RAIN. AFTER THAT WE COULD TRACK, BUT THEY WERENT RUNNING TRACK ANYMORE. WE FIGURED IT WASHED THE TRACK OUT. RIGHT BEFORE THE STORM RIGHT BEFORE THEY WENT ACROSS AND TOPPED OUT ABOUT 9:45PM WAS THE LAST WE HEARD THEM BARKING THAT NIGHT.

I DONT KNOW HOW THEY GOT HIM. LAST 3 TIMES HE'S BEEN OUT HE WOULD RUN FROM US. THE ONE TIME, THE ONLY WAY WE CAUGHT HIM WAS CAUSE HE WENT BACK AND TREED ON A TREE THAT HIM AND JR HAD BEEN TREED A COON IN EARLIER.

AND HE'D BEEN TRYING TO TREE SOME ON HIS OWN.

I DONT THINK YOU COULD CALL HERC OFF A TRACK. HE'S STUBBORN.

THAT'S WHY HE HADNT BEEN HUNTED AS MUCH CAUSE WE WERE WORKING ON GETTING HIM TO COME BACK.

SOMETIMES IF HE GOT LOST, HE'S STOP AND JUST HOWL. YOU KNOW HOW SOME YOUNG DOGS DO UNTIL THEY FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIND THEIR WAY BACK. ACE HAS CAME BACK TO THE TRUCK SEVERAL TIMES, BUT AFTER THE BIG RAIN, I DONT THINK HE COULD FOLLOW HIS SCENT BACK.

THE DOGS WERENT BARKING AND HADNT BEEN BARKING FOR CLOSE 2 A COUPLE HOURS.

WE TRACKED HERCULES ALL THE WAY BACK, LIKE HE JUST FINALLY WENT BACK WHERE HE GOT TURNED LOOSE.

You need to find out who lives at the end of that gravel road. you need to know if they coon hunt or let others hunt on their property or know of anyone who hangs around or looked out of place. Have you talked to them and how'd they act about it.

I DONT KNOW HOW THEY GOT HIM. LAST 3 TIMES HE'S BEEN OUT HE WOULD RUN FROM US. THE ONE TIME, THE ONLY WAY WE CAUGHT HIM WAS CAUSE HE WENT BACK AND TREED ON A TREE THAT HIM AND JR HAD BEEN TREED A COON IN EARLIER.

AND HE'D BEEN TRYING TO TREE SOME ON HIS OWN.

I DONT THINK YOU COULD CALL HERC OFF A TRACK. HE'S STUBBORN.

THAT'S WHY HE HADNT BEEN HUNTED AS MUCH CAUSE WE WERE WORKING ON GETTING HIM TO COME BACK.

SOMETIMES IF HE GOT LOST, HE'S STOP AND JUST HOWL. YOU KNOW HOW SOME YOUNG DOGS DO UNTIL THEY FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIND THEIR WAY BACK. ACE HAS CAME BACK TO THE TRUCK SEVERAL TIMES, BUT AFTER THE BIG RAIN, I DONT THINK HE COULD FOLLOW HIS SCENT BACK.

THE DOGS WERENT BARKING AND HADNT BEEN BARKING FOR CLOSE 2 A COUPLE HOURS.

WE TRACKED HERCULES ALL THE WAY BACK, LIKE HE JUST FINALLY WENT BACK WHERE HE GOT TURNED LOOSE.

You need to drive and visit everyone who lives in a 2 mile vincinity of last location heard or seen. I'm thinking when the rains came Ace looked for shelter, he went into someones property, dogs probably started barking and guy comes out sees ace and his tracking collar, take tracker off throws ace in the kennel drives to the river throws tracker in. I would say he is sitting in a kennel in the same area you hunted him.

WELL UP UNTIL THE OTHER DAY WE WERE TOLD NOT TO GO DOOR TO DOOR. THAT IF WE WENT TO WHOEVER HAD HIM, IT MIGHT CAUSE THEM TO PANIC AND REALLY GET RID OF HIM.

If you went door to door you could at least see the reaction on the peoples' faces, how they acted, ect. Should give you a pretty good idea if they know anything about him...

I'm just afraid everyday she waits is a day further Ace will be. Maybe the one whos got him is waiting for a guy to come in and pick him up and if she waits before going door to door he could be loaded on the truck and gone. Dang Christy you and Quincy need to go door to door. what was the address of last seen. I want to topo it on google earth and see how the land lays and the residental area beside it.

OKAY. WHEN YOU GOOGLE EARTH. LOOK FOR THOMAS VALLEY ROAD. LOOK CLOSE TO THE LOOP ON THE 4LANE. YOU WILL SEE A BIG FIELD, AND YOU WILL SEE A LITTLE WHITE HOUSE RIGHT NEXT TO THE ROAD. RIGHT BEHIND THAT HOUSE IS WHERE WE TURNED THEM LOOSE. THEY WENT STRAIGHT UP TOWARDS THAT BIG PINE PATCH AND CROSSED OUT.

UP LEWIS COVE ROAD ON THE LEFT SIDE ON THAT RIDGE IS THE LAST PLACE WE TRACKED HIM.

OKAY, NOW BACK OUT AND DO A SEARCH FOR WILMOT NC. IT SHOULD TAKE YOU TO THE 4LANE AND A BRIDGE. THAT IS THE BRIDGE THAT THE COLLAR WAS THROWN OFF OF. IF YOU LOOK ON THE BRIDE YOU WILL SEE THE RAIL ROAD CROSSING MARKS, THE WHITE MARK FARTHEST FROM THE 4LANE THE COLLAR WAS IN THE WATER, DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THAT MARK.

NOW, WHEN WE RETRIEVED THE COLLAR, IT HAD DRIFTED DOWN, AND QUINCY GOT IT OUT OF THE WATER RIGHT IN FRONT OF THOSE LITTLE RAPIDS YOU SEE THE LEFT.

1397 IS THOMAS VALLEY ROAD, IT WILL LEAD TO LEWIS COVE ROAD. NOW YOU CAN SEE HOW WHOEVER IT WAS HAD TO HAVE BEEN ON LEWIS COVE IN ORDER TO HAVE GOTTEN ACE AND GOT OUT BEFORE WE SAW THEM.

BUT, WHEN THEY CAME OUT TO TAKE THE COLLAR TO THE RIVER, THEY HAD TO HAVE CAME OUT ON LEWIS COVE BELOW WHERE WE WERE IN THE ROAD THE LAST TIME. CAUSE WE NEVER SAW ANY VEHICLES ALL NIGHT LONG.

If you're worried about going door to door. Then just go in the area and start hollerin' his name. I know mine go nuts when I call 'em and they can't get to me.

I see the area on lewis cove rd. did they head down the mountain or across the top of the mountain. from thomas valley rd to lewis cove rd. is .3 tenths of a mile, he could have came off the moutain to the valley below. I would drive sleepy hollow dr and quinn holcombe rd. I see some mountain rds between lewis cove rd and sleepy hollow rd that leads to houses, I would check them out.

WE HAVE BEEN UP ALL OF THOSE ROADS LOOKING, AND HAVENT SEEN HIM TIED UP AT ANY HOUSES. WE HAVE WENT TO HOUSES, JUST NOT SPOKEN TO ALL THE PEOPLE. WE HAVE TALKED TO A FEW, BUT NOT ALL OF THEM. IF WE DROVE BY AND SAW SOMEONE OUTSIDE WE WOULD STOP AND TALK TO THEM. WE JUST HAVENT BEING GOING UP AND KNOCKING YET. BUT I GUESS NOW WE WILL START THAT.

stolen dog

A co-worker of mine wound up with a stray dog at her home on Monday night. She talked about putting up signs and calling shelters when she went home that night. The following morning she told me that she saw her mail carrier and asked him if he had ever seen the dog before. He immediately gave her the address where the dog lived and she was able to return her immediately to her owners.

Do you have a local mail carrier in that area? I live in a rural part of West Virginia and my mail carrier's route is many miles long and wide. Perhaps you could ask the mail carrier if they have seen a new coonhound at someone's home?

thats a good idea even better give the mail man a picture of the dog to keep a eye out for him hope you get him back he is a hansom dog
