I went with Guffey lastnight for a while Gracie treed one & the Tank treed one by himself this was the first coon he had treed on this own he Spilt treed on top of that, no to bad for a couple of ol has beens.

Both, we treed another one but left it.

Guffey was stepping high I didnt even have a dog that was good for that young dog I got some real good pictures but wont let me post them, maybe I'll try tomorrow.

U go hunting lastnight which was Friday ? coons are not moving here or something is wrong I think there fat & dont want to get down & run around they can move late in the night or about daylight, worst I've ever seen here talk to lots of others same story just one here & there.

Same story here.

We did hunt Friday night with no results. Went north of the house and spent about an hour. Nothing. Moved west and another hour went by with no results. This is not new for our area here. Seems our coons always lay up bad in December. Getting ready for the rut in January I guess. We have not knocked any coons out this past summer and the signs indicate that there is a plentiful number of game. When the rut starts, we will have fun.

Had a good talk with Bill Toops Saturday. We sure feel for Russ, what with all that's on his plate right now.

yea, as a rule coons keep on moving here year round just have never seen them act like this, yes I know there should have been easy coons killed (BUT) no one is hunting ((THAT MUCH)) around here.There are ((VERY FEW HUNTING)) so we should have lots of coons.

If we could strike some more tracks we might have a chance to tree a few, but the tracks are not out there to run, Ive had several guys tell me the same thing ((NO TRACKS)) why is this ? there are several NICE DOGS from around here there always has been maybe this snow & cold weather will make them move a little more after beening layed up, maybe they will get hungry.

Maybe I need to ask Santa to bring me a Coondog for Christmas while ol Light'in is out of town. Whata ya think.

Eddie,

we didn't go last night, it was snowing and I just didn't want to get out in it. Maybe in the next night or so.

Our Granddaughter gets home today from Iraq, we're sure glad to get her back home. Also have a great grandson home from Iraq. He is under going treatment from wounds received while there. Schrapnel in his chest, stomach and legs. He will have to walk with the aid of crutches the rest of his life. God bless all our troops that are serving our country, where ever they are.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

Im sure there glad to be home, hope he heals soon.I know it would be tuff to be over seas during this time of year.

May God watch over them all & bring them home safe.

Looks like there will be no hunting here for a while maybe this snow will help us out & the coons will start moving.

Just got in the house.

Rosemary and I took Ol' Billy for a dump this evening. Went west back to the 45 and was at the south end along the corn field when Ol' Billy opened in the box. We stopped and cut him, he took the track west down into the big holler and treed hard. He had a nice coon. I think they moved here tonight. Had to get home so Rosemary wouldn't miss too much sleep. She gets up at 2:00 AM to go to work. We enjoyed the hunt tonight. Good to hear Ol' Billy pound that wood.

Just got a phone call, Granddaughter, Shannan just got off the plane in Indy from Iraq. We will get to see her tomorrow. She sure was glad to get home.

This is one of Light'ins oldest pups. I got a call from Robbie he was telling me Twiggy will be ready for the hunts this spring I want to wish him the very best with her.
