MY WIFE AND I HAD TWO BLACK N TANS ONCE. THE FEMALE WAS OUT OF BILL MACKS SLEDGE HAMMER FROM NEBRASKA. SHE WAS A GOOD DOG, MY WIFE KEPT HER FOR A HOUSE DOG. I FINISHED HER TO GRAND ON BENCH. SHE WOULD HAVE MADE A GOOD HOUND. THE LITTLE MALE WE HAD WAS OUT OF SHAWNEE HILLS ROLLING THUNDER, HE WAS MEANER THAN A SNAKE. THE LAST DAY HE WAS HERE HE GROWLED AT MY DAUGHTER. LETS JUST SAY HE LEFT.

HAVE YOU HEARD WHAT THE NEXT EPISODE OF TAILGATE ADVENTURES IS ABOUT?

Im sorry! I misunderstood! The last B&T I had was a great coon dog. Only thing about her was..you couldn't get her out of the woods. Had to leash her at the tree if you intended to go to the truck. She was a stay put tree dog and would stay treed all night but she wanted to hunt so bad she would stay out of your reach if she knew you were going to take her home. Couldnt call her off a tree or track. She wouln't even come in if she was not running or treed. She was about two years old when I bought her and I think she was trained that way. She seemed to be afraid to come back to you when you turned her loose. I got some of that out her but she was always hard to handle. I always said I thought she would have been different had I raised and trained her from a pup but I'm not sure about that. She was a fireball when she was young. I would never have tried to take the hunt out of her but I think I could have gotten her to handle better.

I just decided I wanted a nice Bluetick. I had hunted with some that I liked. I just stuck with them after that. My Hammer blues were actually faster track dogs and treed just as hard and were all night tree dogs too not to take anything away from the Black dog and the Red one that I had before getting into the blues. I saw to it that I could handle my dogs after having the catch-at-the tree type dogs the Red and Black were. In their own way the Black dog and the Red were just as good as my Blueticks. I just decided I would stay blue after 1993. I had been coon hunting way before then and had had some decent dogs along the way.

Johnny...

... YOUR memory will be better than mine... cause I forget! LOL... I have such a spotty memory... Assuming from the brain injury. Age will be adding to that now that I"m fifty
No donkey hunt this morning but we did track something? I have an awful lot of fun with the dumb BnT who is actually darned smart. Just UNeducated We sat on our favorite sittin'Rock and watched a beautiful red tailed hawk... and it is a GLORIOUS day here! Started at 48 and should be close to 70 later on. PERFECT! The leaves are turning and the critters are active, preparing for winter.... Makes the world seem such a GIFT!
We don't get the channels to allow us to watch any of the hound stuff....
AND>.. You don't need to welcome me here! I know you always welcome me

Thanks again, Heather

COrky, Homer is so cute... Love the fact that there are so many types of dawgs... and critters in general, to appeal to all of our tastes. I meet people who think our Bnt is UGLY, others beautiful. I had TONS of people think our greyhounds were skinny and ugly... and some not. My Bluedawg was "big and scary" lol... to no hound people.
That littel Homer... I think a majority would think he is CUTE!
Variety is the Spice of Life for sure! Have a GREAT day!
Heather

Well then I'll just tell you that it was the illustrous "Coonhound Calendar" You didn't know how to take me at the time!

The world really is a gift with all that mother natures gives us to enjoy. Your weather sounds so good and the leaves turning and all. Maybe one day I will get to see New England in the fall.

You have a great one too!

I THOUGHT SO! I wondered cause I thought of Raven right away! I just rememeber your beautiful bluedawg pix and that you loved to share them!
Fall in the mountains is the best of course, north of us. Worth seeing at least once in a lifetime if possible! I also love the rocky seashore in the fall and winter... VERY NICE and attracts many a camera....
Someday I'll have a good one again... camera that is! Not sure I'll be able to learn to use a Real on again though. The point and shoot digital has ruined me...

I LIKE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ALSO. ALOT OF GOOD GAMES AROUND HERE TONIGHT. MY KIDS SCHOOL PLAYS TOMOROW. RIGHT NOW THEY ARE 5-0. #1 IN OUR AREA. #1 1-A SCHOOL IN STATE OF MARYLAND. THEY PLAY IN WASHINGTON DC TOMOROW AGAINST RIVERDALE BAPTIST. SHOULD BE A GOOD ONE. THEY HAVE TWO REAL GOOD TEAMS COMING UP. BOTH ARE BIG RIVALS.

Hey Corky,

Drs Backs Meds... yuck! Hoping you get thaqt back straightened out! Spines... gotta have one BUT sure do hate em... I fractured mine in a couple places in 1975... on a trail ride with Bob actually... at horse camp. Been a problem since BUT... I kept riding and teaching etc... since horses was my career... As long as I kept it REAL strong and didn't do a few certain moves I was cool...till 1997 when my truck crunched up against another bigger one....and kinda bumped my head and neck and a few other body parts. FOr a while I kept working hard and my spine below the neck was decent...but my brain was a bit.... confused... as they(the "evil drs" lol) made me do less and less... the spine got worse and worse. Since I have energy issues I am limited in what I can do BUT... thanks to the last ortho Dr and some AMAZING Physical therapists... I have an exer. program I do at home FAITHFULLY now... and unless I get a chest cold and have a little setback I find that as long as I keep my "core" strong I can live with my spine! I can't do STUPID stuff... lol Like dance to music while Bob is driving... singing and making the kids shrink in the back seat...(last weekend for example).... I can't do dirtbikes.... can't go on the highway or bumpy roads as a passenger on my Fatboy with Bob driving it etc... But I CAN do LOTS of things! I can sit up MOST of the day now.... and be on this laptop yacking at my buddies!
SO... in a very wordy way... I'm telling you to KEEP your spirits up most of all and think about those Nights in the woods.. walking behind those mutts... waiting to hear them bark TREED!......
Bob and I will send HEALING thoughts and prayers your way!
Heather

Just a family tradition...I see. With that line of thought I'd just be a johnny-come-lately with Blueticks. I sure can't make a claim like that.

DOSE NOT MATTER HOW, JUST THAT YOU HAVE BLUETICKS. I WISH SOME OF THE BLOOD WE HAVE NOW WOULD GO BACK TO MY FATHERS. KINDA LET IT GET AWAY. WE HAD SMOKEY RIVER, BOOMER, HUSSLER. I NOW HAVE UCTCHMAN, VAUGHN, AND ONE LITTLE FIREBALL OUTA CAMERON. BUT THE MOST THING IS NO MATTER WHAT BREED IS THAT YOU LIKE THEM.

CORKY, HOPE THAT BACK GETS BETTER. AND THANKS FOR HOPING THE TEAMS WIN. OUR HIGH SCHOOL TEAM PLAYS LATER TODAY. AND MY DAUGHTER PLAYS SOCCER A LITTLE LATER. AND THIS IS STILL SLOW THIS MORN. BOY THAT GETS OLD QUICK.

54 DEGREES AND SUNNY HERE NOW. I HAVE ALOT OF CRAP TO DO TODAY. AND I WANT TO HUNT TONIGHT.

I have 7 generation pedigrees on some of mine. Without dragging them out and reading I recall from memory that one of them shows old Mountain Musics Blue Blaze in it. There's Smokey River, Vaughn, Sebastian...even some Uchtman scattered around in them. Some I've forgotten I'm sure.
