Ok .. I just know sometimes it's some one that inspires us to hunt ..it was my great uncle .. When I was 10 .. Just wish I had the chance to hunt with him ..I only sat in the swing and listen to his stories .. ... And only could see and hear his hounds .... They were coon hounds not a pet I could touch and play with ..only he could ... I do remember my dad telling me the story of a man offering my great uncle 5,000 dollars for one of his coon dogs .. It was a lot of money way back then ... but he had the very best ..i remember the nights I spent the night with them .. ( he had 13 children) .. No heat and air .. Just home made quilts ... No bathroom .. Out house ... I could see the chickens running around under their house because the wood floors where not closely together ... And my cousin singing old songs about daddy coming home drinking moonshine and leaves momma ... Lol ... ; ) but as I laid in the bed still as can be .. I'd wait .... And wait ... To see if I could hear the sound of thst old hound ... And when I did .. It brought tears to my eyes ... Corky ... Those were the best days of my life !!! What great menories !!! If only my children could experience those kind of days ... Ridding the tractor , plowing , picking tobacco and cotton.. Peas , corn .. Fish with cane poles , swimming in old ponds .. Playing base ball with a big thick stick and a ball made of tape all woded up .. Heck we already had the team .. My great uncle had 13 kids !! Lol
They all were we'll mannered .. And weren't scared of very hard work !!!! And oooooo the picnic table in the kitchen ... Full of homemade pies and ham and biscuits ... With a sheet that laid on top !!! Omg .. I miss those days !!!
I'm very close to the children of my great uncle , they are some of the kindest people I've ever known !!!
Sorry I got carried away ... Just love those moments !! They make me smile !!
