HERE IS A BROTHER TO SHELLY AND SAGE THAT IS LIKE THEY ARE/WERE. A COONDOG AND REPRODUCER. THIS IS NTCH. MITCHELL'S TRAPPER OWNED BY CHARLIE MITCHELL THAT OWNED VAL. CHARLIE WANTED A PUP OUT OF TRAPPER SO HE SHOPPED AROUND SOME, FOUND A DESCENT COON TREEING FEMALE AND BRED HER TO TRAPPER. EVERY PUP FROM THAT LITTER IS MAKING A NICE YOUNG HOUND. THE OPPY VAL CROSS WAS OUTSTANDING.

I AGREE TOTALLY. I FIND MYSELF THINKING OF THOSE DOGS A LOT. TOP HOUNDS IN ANYBODY'S BOOK. WE CAN ONLY HOPE TO SNAP A LEASH ON ANOTHER OF THEIR CALIBER A TIME OR 2 IN THIS LIFETIME. <v>

Have had a few nice ones in the day but never one that was as close to the total package as Lexi was. I can only hope I get the chance to fallow another of her ability in my life time. I had always liked this line of dog but after Lexi I can promise there will always be a bluedog laying on the couch with OPPY blood flowing in the viens.

I HAVE LIVED ALL BUT 5 YEARS OF MY LIFE RIGHT HERE IN JODAVIESS CO. I REMEMBER WHEN BRANIGER COMPANY'S CAME TO THE AREA AND STARTED TRYING TO BUY FARMS TO CREATE WHAT IS NOW GALENA TERRITORY. A BIG RUCUS AMONG FOLKS THAT WANTED TO KEEP THEM OUT V.S. THE ONES THAT WOULD SELL THEIR FARMS TO ALLOW IT WAS THE MAIN TALK FOR A YEAR OR SO UNTIL A COUPLE FARMERS SOLD, AND MAN, IT WAS ON. AFTER THEY GOT THE MIDDLE OF THE VALLEY BOUGHT, THEY ANNOUNCED THAT A LAKE WAS GOING TO BE BUILT, THEY WERE OFFERING A FAIR PRICE AND EITHER SELL OR GET USED TO IT BEING MUCH DAMPER THAN THEY HAD BEEN USED TO IN PAST. LONG STORY SHORT, THEY GOT IT BOUGHT. AN I'M NOT EXACTLY SURE HOW MANY THOUSAND ACRE LAKE, 5000 AND SOME ODD HOMES, TOWN HOUSES, MOTELS, GENERAL STORY AND 4 GOLF COURSES LATER IN 2013. I TOOK THIS PHOTO THIS AM OF A BARN ON THE 18 HOLE NORTH COURSE OF THE TERRITORY THAT I BELIEVE COSTS $150.00 A ROUND TO PLAY, THAT A PAST GENERATION OF A FAMILY THAT I KNOW NOW MILKED COWS IN THAT BARN. I JUST WONDER HOW MUCH MILK IT TOOK TO MAKE $150.00 BACK THEN??? <v>

Sad to see those old barns go. With the crazy boom in row crop a lot of them have been torn down in this part of the country. They don't want to take time to farm around them so they doze them out.

Just my sentimental side coming out.

MY MOM HAS MADE A HOBBY OF PHOTOGRAPHING OLD BARNS ABOUT ANY PLACE THE HER AND DAD HAVE TRAVELED AND ALOT OF LOCAL ONES ALSO. MANY OF THEM I REMEMBER, HAVE RAN COON INTO ETC, AND THEY ARE NO LONGER THERE, SO HER PHOTO COLLECTION TAKES ON A WHOLE NEW LIGHT. SHE HAS A COUPLE FROM THEIR ALASKA TRIP THAT ARE UNREAL. THE OLD BARN THAT USED TO STAND ON ABOUT EVERY FARM THERE WAS, WILL SOON BE A THING OF THE PAST. <v>

My oldest daughter is 19 and she has been into photography almost all of her life. She also has a lot of barn photos. Photos of the good life. May have been a tough life, but a good one.
