Here's a video clip of my young dog out of (Mo Blue Smoke X Planes Blue Candy ). This was Saturday night, he's been coming along well and has learned it all by himself. I really enjoy working with X watching him progress each time out.

I love the raspy tone and volume in Mr. Cam Smith's video of his fed x pup. Some of that must of come from ol smoke. Is ur littermate Crash that loud.

One of the things I am seeing that I have never seen this much before is the bird dog like winding ability. My pup hasn't master it yet but if she does look out competition. Is that something that smoke is good at or some of these other pups out of different females?

Smoke is a winding track and tree type dog. We are seeing this ability show up in all his crosses. Wayne Poff has a female that he says is an artist at it. She is just turning a year old and has been doing it for a quite awhile. The Donk dog Timmy has in the hunts runs with his head up and might just tree without any track at all.
Got a 8 month old pup that has been started totaly by his self that is allready the same way. Theze pups that I have hunted with seem to all be super fast on track and tree hard with ease. Good air in them. They seem to tree with out any efort wearing them out.

I think my Crash pup trees and. sounds just like his aunt. He puts his feet as high as he can and lays his head on the tree between his feet and lets it rip non stop.

I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had time to get on here. Norm you were talking about head up trying to wind and I've seen a lot of that from smoke and his pups. I took Donk up to Nebraska bboa hunt and looked really good two dumps he had his head up and when we cut him he went where he was winding the other 3 horseraced other direction. He split three times over the weekend. One time half mile away for thirty min and last dump 20 yds away. He looked really good. I got two videos i can't get uploaded one of Donk and one of Dustin bloxhams female. His female is doing good won her cast in a buddy hunt. Said he could haul her to the hunts now, just wants to finish her a little more.

That was one trait I liked when we were looking around at different hounds in 2008. The overall tools these hounds had was what caught my eye. Winding ability has been strong in several I have had. Grandnitech Mad Dog Blue Spice II was the first one I had that would wind and get treed. She really picked a tree quickly. Her accuracy was very good. I see that ability in Toby too. Roy and Tim can certainly explain better than me but somewhere many of these hounds pick up that ability and I for one really like it and personally that's one of my favorite things to look for.

No good at the hunt fri night we hunted public hunting and the coon seemed to be scarce. Donk didn't perform like I wanted. Didn't go back sat.

Came to Kansas to pick up thier Guage and Robin female.
We went hunting and had a fair night. They had RipTide and I took Robin and Timmy's new pup he calls Deal. Robin and Deal treed slick on the first turn out and Tide was not impressed.. Turned loose again and they all got struck and treed a big ole den tree. Moved out of that hole and went to another spot and turned out Tide and Robin. They got struck and treed about 150 yrds in with the meat. I think Corey has some pics he will post. Turned loose again and they hit in about 350 and ran it to a pond where they had it in a hole right a the edge of the water. I tried to look in but all I could see was steam comming out of the hole and couldnt get a good look without drowning. We called it a night about midnight and they left out of here at 6:30 this morning. We had fun. Nothing to write home about but didnt get skunked either.
Glad you guys made over but next time stay longer and we will get in some better hunting.

Roy, my father and I had a good time hunting with you last night. We appreciated the hospitality and have high hopes for the little female. Next time we will have to try to stay out there longer and hunt a few nights. We sure hope this little female turns out to be half the dog Robin is she will be a good one. Corey, Brian Jennewein, and Mark Brown I just got off the phone with UKC and the litter is nominated for 2014 in the Performance Program. Sandy said that if you sent in your transfer to add a note and pay the $30.00 to perminately nominate them.
The $KC litter registration and SS will be taken care of this week. Kevin said he would send all of that in.

Emmily and Wes Shine brought over a young female that is heavey Smokey River bred to breed to Smoke. When I get a copy of her papers I will post it on the board. These should be some bang up coonners.

Roy we sent the pup papers in and took care of the performance paper work as well. U.K.C. Said once they get her papers they will take care of both. Thanks! She doing fine and not a shy bone in her body! She has however tried her vocals out - LOL! I think she is missing the other pups and gets bored. Never makes a sound at night, just wants attention when your out there and something to eat, the feeder isn't enough!
