Morn'n

Great Pics Bond, dang I need some water therapy and some salt air too.

Well Tropical Storm Debbie is suppose to be headed our way. Sat. night theyhad her going to Texas, they changed it yesterday and have he coming right though here. Got 1/2 inch so far and that has been just an all day and night drizzle. Probably gona have some yard work if not yard damage down at the coast the way it is pushing water up in Appalachee Bay.

WELL.. I"m from MA not ME... BUT... we have our share of lobsters here for sure...and a lobsterman in the family(kind of that is... my sister has not married her long time BF but Sam IS a lobsterman...and after WAY too many free ones over the years I VERY rarely have the desire to eat one!
I'm thinking that not too many are served to any prisoners these days! lol...

Hurricane... you all in the path take care! THose who need rain, hope you all get it! We just had some rain... quick down pour... some thunder a distance from us so I'm still on line... looks like more coming in a while. Figured I'd get on here now while I had some time.
Yesterday... didn't do a thing I can think of worth talking about but I did get lazy and not get on here....Last night however our goofy showbred AKC BnT made us proud! Bob took them out at 10PM...and on the nights he does it they get to go for a walk around out back by the cams... so I'll tell the tale...BUT it starts out in the riding ring where we turn the dogs out to do their business in the early am, 3 pm and 10 pm... there is a "tent" shelter with dog beds and dog crate out there... and I guess lil Miss Daisy ran right to the crate... where and ancient, yucky and mildly injured feral cat-who is not yet ready for euthanasia- was resting! Big Oops BUT... Bob got there in time and rescued it from impending death... He leashed up the mutts and started out the back path when Webster suddenly got excited winding something...and in the manner my deceased, beloved bludawg Wyatt taught him... He gave REAL VOICE! IT was not his Tarzan howl but a REAL coondawg voice! I HEARD IT FROM THE HOUSE and KNEW something cool was up... As Bob told the tale upon re entry to the house... with a crazed drooling dawg and a lil excited cur dawg.... lol... Webster had pointed out to Bob that THERE WAS A COON at the feeders! BOb was dragged along the path to the tree... We'll see if the cam caught any PROOF later on!
I finally had to get the dawgs UPSTAIRS to bed... cause Web kept going out the dog door to tell the neighbors he was still excited, that the coons in the barn were still smelly too etc.... LOL... I have to say it's a good thing Wyatt was no longer with us(as much as I really wish he was) cause his ear shattering LOW amazing voice was WAY louder and I'da had to imprison them earlier if he went out to announce!
I love coondawgs! It is so cool to me that instinct alone... and a few lessons from old blue would bring out such excitement from the RIGHT prey in a dog with genetics alone....and no training...
Someday We'll get out to the woods again with some coondawg.... and some friends... I know it!
HappyHunting and happyday, everyone!

Heather

OH... nice pix Bond! Where is that?? We had property in ROckport, MA with a HUGE granite quarry (now part of the National SeaShore) with a rather infamous diving spot. I"m a wimp so I never went off myself but saw alot of spectacular dives! YOur ROCK is a reminder! COOL!

THINGS I LEARNED LIVING IN THE SOUTH

A possum is a flat animal that sleeps in the middle of the road.

There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 of them live in the South.

There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 of them live in the South, plus a couple no one's seen before.

If it grows, it'll stick ya: If it crawls, it'll bite ya.

Onced and Twiced are words.

It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy!

Jawl-P? means, Did you all go to the bathroom?

People actually grow, eat and like okra.

Fixinto is one word. It means I'm going to do that.

There is no such thing as lunch. There is only dinner and then there's supper.

Iced tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're two. We do like a little tea with our sugar. It is referred to as the Wine of the South.

Backwards and forwards means I know everything about you.

The word jeet is actually a question meaning, 'Did you eat?'

You don't have to wear a watch, because it doesn't matter what time it is, you work until you're done or it's too dark to see.

You don't PUSH buttons, you MASH em.

Y'all is singular. All y'all is plural.

All the festivals across the states are named after a fruit, vegetable, grain, insect, or animal.

You carry jumper cables in your car - for your OWN car.

You only own five spices: salt, pepper, mustard, Tabasco and ketchup.

The local papers cover national and international news on one page, but require 6 pages for local high school sports, the motor sports, and gossip.

Everyone you meet is a Honey, Sugar, Miss(first name) or Mr.(first name)

You think that the first day of deer season is a national holiday.

You know what a hissy fit is.

Fried catfish is the other white meat.

We don't need no dang Driver's Ed. If our mama says we can drive, we can drive!!!

You understand these jokes and forward them to your Southern friends and those who just wish they were from the SOUTH.

Heather...WB picture's are from a local man made lake here in southwest VA...name is Claytor Lake State Park...and i plead the fifth on the cliff jumping

Speaking of Bears...

... there has been a young male black bear causing a rukas all over MA. He was pretty famous down with all the vacationers in CapeCod...and he was moved to Western MA. THen the last couple days there have been sightings in some towns in the Boston suburbs. Now today it was caught in Brookline where my Mum lives(but on the other side of town)... they've brought him back to western MA...LOL. He was tagged so they know it's the same bear. AND there was a young moose not too far away as well! WOW... all over the place...CRITTERS!
Rained some today...of course WHILE I was doing my chores. Nice and cool too...
NOthing much going on here. Got our middle son home sick now for a few days... He is 21 and WAS working with Bob....and it is "hell Week" at Bob's work... where they RUSH to get everything done before they close down for 2 weeks vacation... NOW there is EXTRA work for Bob! lol... Brandon is doing OK. FIrst night he was at the ER then had to go to his own dr the next day. He's running a temp hovering above and below 102 but has a SPLITTING headache and neck pain so they had to rule out menengitis. So far bloodwork just tells us he has some sort of infection... and the docs think it's just a virus... but the kid is MISERABLE! and kinda grumpy too.... AND of course I AM ALWAYS the one who catches whatever anyone else has and then... I get WAY sicker! lol... With my primary Dr having just died...I am WILLING away this virus! I WILL NOT GET SICK! So far so good! WooHoo!
SO... Have a Great Night! HappyHunting Heather

Well guys I can personally vouch for cabelas snake boots they work !!!! even when bitten twice by two different snakes. I sure could have used Linkous and his snake charming abilities almost in the same spot within 50 to 75 yards were I saw one last week boom I got busted by one on stepping back to re access the situation boom I got bit from behind. Sure was not expecting that both were nice ones and real round and fat I wonder if they were pregnant females really fat towards there back end it is quite rocky there I have herd of birthing dens were all the females come to raise there young and wonder if thats why they were there of course after that I had to crawl threw a laurel thicket to get to dogs I got to admit I did not feel too comfortable crawling around on my hands and knees dad blamed things oh well thats the summer time hunting for you. One time when I was a boy some where in the Pinicales of Dan me and my Dad got in a den of rattle snakes that was the most I have ever seen all together it had been a warm october day and they were laying on the rocks for the warmth I guess

Heather pray you stay well and your son gets better fast

Sooner, rather than later, should be added.

Figure this one for me. You go to a fellow's house to enquire about a dog. Little fellow in the yard so you ask to speak to the man of the house , to which you get a response, "He gone". Which leaves you to wonder , so you ask a probing question to which he replies , "He be gone". Which is quite a relief because it means he is gone temporarily and possibly hiding in the corn crib for you might be from the Government or an insurance agent collector. The worst answer would be "He bin gone". Which means the little fellow knows he's gone but 'e been gone so long it's doubtfull he ever coming back.
He gone, he be gone , he been gone, and he bin(emphasis added) gone. So what does he been gone mean?
