Just got home from the Iowa Winter Classic in Jefferson, IA. They had a good turnout for the bench show and the banquet was alot of fun.
Chief won Champion Male and Willow Won Champion Female and Queen of Show.

Got an update from Mike Lyons on his Ox pup, he says:

"Hey Aubrey, this is Michael Lyons. I bought a pup from you out of Ox and Goldie. He is doing really awesome and is looking more like his dad everyday. Growing like a weed, he's 6 months now and is doing really well in the woods. I don't hunt much but when i do he does awesome. He don't like to tree with other dogs very often, he likes to go off on his own. He has a bark like his Dad Ox, loud and constant and you can tell its him from the rest of the dogs. I just thought I would let you know how he's doing and I'll be sending you some pictures of him in the woods. Talk to you later and looking forward to seeing at hunts this spring. I'm gona try to get to some up in Wisconsin. Talk to you later"

The weather has been pretty good for Feb. in Wisconsin, and Aubrey has been getting a little stir crazy.......so he fired up Dice and Tater tonight to shake off the dust and start getting them in shape. They made a tree together, and each had a solo tree.

Got a nice update and picture from Stacey Welch on his Clyde X Chance pup, he says:

"Hello Butler family hope all is well. Our season is over now I couldn’t remember if I sent you this picture or not, if so My apology. It was taken before the season was over. It’s not as impressive as your hide pic but we were pleased none the less. We ended up with 25 hides for the season, Lit’l ann probably treed around 35-45 total we don’t harvest them all never more than 1 out of a tree usually 1 coon a night. We are still having a little trouble with Opossums she has treed around 12 and caught 2. We’ll eventually see eye to eye. I would say she is doing pretty well considering we started the season with a 12 month old puppy ,who would dig holes in the ground and chase field mice part of the night. We hunted her the first 5 nights with a pup trainer after that she has been solo. I have hunted her with 7 different dogs on 5 different nights she hasn’t backed one yet. We took her out on Feb 2nd with 3 extremely good competition Walkers. The Walkers treed a total of 3 dens and a hole in the ground, Ann did her own thing showed us the only coon of the night! She still has a lot of puppy in her but should make a coon dog. These guys want a rematch I told them I am never hunting with them again. Gotta go out on top!
Wanted to let you know we are pleased and my boy thinks he’s going to make her a night champ this summer. I think he has his expectations a little high, but time will tell. My kid’s have followed her about every night along with my wife. Hope to see you at some hunts"

We were out last night, the NH season is still open, and PR REDFEVER Sundown Bandito, "Paco" put a big coon up. Crazy weather this past week. We had 50 degrees yesterday. First time ever do I remember having patches of snow, seeing frogs hopping around and lots of open water.

50 degrees, snow and frogs.......that is pretty crazy! Glad to hear Paco is doing well. Love to see a picture sometime.

Carl and Aubrey went out last night and had a nice hunt. Cut Chief solo, he ran a nice track and locked it down every breath - had a big den. Cut Tater solo, he got on a old cold track, heated it up, and treed with the coon on the outside. Here is a few pics:

Hey Tom! Tater is taller than Rip, but about the same weight.

Thanks for the congrats Brandon & Jay! Aubrey had a lot of fun last night. Drew out with a good group of guys to hunt with, and had a lot of fun chatting with everyone at the clubhouse.....the Arthur guys always put on a good hunt. We also wanted to give a big Congrats to Nate Schultz on his 1st place open registered win with Georgia! Georgia is owned by Nate & Matt Schultz of IA, and is off of our NITECH GRCH Two Worlds Collide and Terry Goza's NITECH CH Sing Along Rose. Georgia is just a touch over 2 yrs old, and is really a nice little female. Congrats again Nate & Matt, keep up the good work with her!
