Well Snake has seen 3 or 4 coons and he is aggressive on them and no back up. I think he will do well. I have to get use to the shorter ears and his high pitch mouth. Time will tell if I keep him or not. I like long eared houndy dogs with big bawl mouths.

Rose has seen three so for she is 11 months old today. Nothing yet. She gets on the tree but not barking. She hasn't decided whether to get in on the action or not. Time will tell. She is a fine looking female.
She is my first Bocephus dog so not sure how they start or when. I'm patient so time will tell on her.

Dragon is doing well and its been hot so he hasn't seen a competition hunt for a while. I hope this weather changes and Justin gets him finished in UKC as well as PKC. Time will tell.

Finished his HTX Title last night 7/24/18 in Sweet Springs Mo.

Jeff I want to walk so bad with these dogs it's killing me. I love starting young dogs. Once I get that look in their eye I know they are ready. Snake has it. Rose doesn't yet but I bet I will get it out of her real soon.

Went out for a bit last night. Snake is starting to get the idea. His mouth is changing thank goodness. I don't think it will be long now if I can get to the woods enough.
Time will tell. Rose really wants to go but I can't have her playing with a dog trying to be serious about wanting to be a coondog. She will get her turn as I rotate them. I need her to run loose for about a month and that will help take some of the puppy out of her.
Jazz II is going to be a coon getter that Charlie has. She sure does have a good mouth and looks to get treed.

Uneventful night other than Snake and Rose don't let grass grow under their feet. First turn 850 yards looking. Next turn .9 mile looking I had to drive then call them in. Snake checks lots of trees so it won't be long. I need to get him with a old dog that opens on the ground. Maybe he will start to open.
Rose turns 1 year today and Snake turned 1 year yesterday. Now it's my turn to push them and see what I got.

Snake and Rose went looking .6 away. Snake got treed on a Walnut tree going into a big tree but I didn't find anything. He is starting to look up so that is encouragement. The ones Corey Mailes has are running and treeing. There is something to say when you can let a pup run loose at a early age.
Rose wants to play so as soon as she grows up in her mind she will be ready. One thing for sure if you don't take them they can't learn in a pen.
I need to run Snake with old dogs so I hope he will bark on the ground. Time will tell.

Thinking about selling out till my health gets better. I can't walk to a dog so it is very hard to train one. So I don't know for sure. I hate just sitting in a truck and can't get to a tree to work with my young dogs. I don't like relying on people to help me do that.
Took Rose after I got back from Autumn Oaks for a run. It was hot.
She is off Bocephus x Misfire. She just turned a year old. Still likes to start out playing with other dogs then she will go. That doesn't make me happy at all. I'm not a female male but I know they are important in the breeding program.
Snake my Rattler x Maggie male is more serious about hunting and finding something he is only one day older than Rose.
Dragon didn't so any good last night in the jamboree. He sure can put the coons on the right limb for sure.
Not sure what I'm going to do but there might be a dog or two for sale.

This is a very nice dog. I hope he does good in the stud pen. He is 4 but I hope he can make a difference if given a chance. Time will tell. He is a very good coon treeing hound that is very accurate and quick to get wooded. He also can work the cold tracks and lay up coons

Still working with my young dogs. I'm not sure where my patients went. I hope this Bocephus x Misfire female turns out. She has got a mouth you can hear a long way.
I might be looking for someone to work with her that can walk and get her in the right direction.
Snake is my buddy so he and I will have a good winter if all goes well.
I may in October offer to breed a few females to Dragon for free so he is able to get some pups on the ground while he is performance sire this year.

Kandy looking good for 16 months old
She sure can get struck and real fast on track. Great locate and very nice tree dog.
We hunted Kandy, Doc and Snake the other night. Kandy got First and first on the coon seen. Super nice young dog. When this kill season is over. She is going to be a dog next competition season. She can win now but still needs just a little fine tuning.
Snake wanted to be a stud dog this night so he looked like crap

He may not have all the fancy titles yet. I can tell you this. He is a coondog from strike to tree. He is young at 4 so I hope he gets a chance to breed a few females. I figure with all the RC x Jenny breeding plus Uchtman and Rambo who knows. He was a early starter and that is what I promote and always have. Treeing his own live wild coons at 6 months old. I have video of it and not just one. I hope he can throw his likeness or even better. He can fill the score card up the right way. He doesn't babble. If he opens he is struck period. Great locate and good solid chop on the tree.
What I would change is he does jack or bounce at the tree.
No chewing. When he settles on the wood totally different just solid chop with coon seen. His litter mates are almost identical with good mouths as well.
I won't invest in a dog I don't believe in period.
Justin and I will show him anytime. He is my handler and has been hunting Dragon for me since I can't simply walk in the woods. Someday I will be back and I will show you what he is capable of doing. He has not been bred yet.

I cut them loose about 7:45 PM. They went .85 one direction and I did hear Julia open and maybe even tree for a bit. They finally came into me. I pointed them in another direction and at 11:30 showed them treed 1.7 mile in the middle of know where in the conservation. Of course I can't walk so it was the waiting game. I finally honked my horn and called many many times and they came in. These two year old dogs have go. This was Julia's first time in the woods at dark. Looks like I can't go by myself because this sucks not getting to young dogs.
Oh well life goes on. I won't let this disability stand in my way. I will have to find different places to turn loose not big sections so I can hear what is going on.
I can personally say I have hunted with 10 of the 14 dogs in Julia's 3 generation pedigree. She should be the right kind that wins in all conditions.

Thank you Justin for the work and time you have put in. Maybe his bad luck streak has ended. He drew a four dog cast and got to himself twice. Deep and lonely.
I'm a happy owner. He has a lot of Spring Hill blood in him and they have been proven winners and reproducers.
