Sure has changed over the years wouldn't have ever heard any of the old timers say I won't hunt there because of this or that or you don't let me hunt where I want to I'll take my toys and go home. And then try and convince sombody you got a coondog and try and get them to breed to ole fluffy with his pink collar and matching leash lol.

So you're scared of bacon, and your dog is scared of possum in a shell?

No wonder northerners get a bad rap lol

Hunt around hog and armadillas all the time. Have to have a broke dog. Never had any problem with the hogs being aggressive. But I can sure see how a dog that had not been exposed to them would be very tempted. LOL.

Maybe some kind of purse might help?? I've already got a box, light, jacket, dog food, etc. With the amount of income being brought in, giving a little back might entice more entries.

I pulled dollar off of a 300 pound boar down at the lone star one might. He held him alone for 45 minutes. Bennie Boles was on the cast, and the guide wanted to go get a gun a mile back at the truck to shoot the hog, said it was one of the biggest hogs he'd ever laid eyes on, and wanted to know of my gold ch could hold out till he got back..... um......no....... Sucker had some teeth too.

But compared to my wife, that hog was about as scary as a newborn kitten.

Dogs were running hogs all around us a couple years ago down there and ol Tmack was hiding behind me cuz the trees weren't big enough to climb. Lol. How some people go out in the dark un accompanied by an adult is beyond me.

Cows and pigs.....good lord

You got lucky, there has been more than one dog killed by a lot smaller one then that. I lived 50 miles from the lone star for several years. I seen several get caught. I also see some dogs get killed. We had a cow kill a women a few towns over last month crushed her against the gate she was trying to get out. I work with them daily, you can push them around most of the time but if they decide to hurt you then your going to be hurt.

Pigs !!! Me and my father in law were walking to the dogs one night we were still a long ways from them and we went to walk accross a pond dam and about 30 hogs came after us we got to the nearest ceder tree he went up first then me but it wasent tall enough and my headlight was right in his rump and if those pigs were anouther 3" taller they would have got me and they was trying when they finally left we got down and laughed our hind ends off two grown men in a little ceder tree lol. But if your dogs don't bother the hog the hog won't bother the dog the serious hunters use to go somewhere and break their dogs before a major hunt.

cows

I am a dairy farmer. I can guarantee you if cattle get you in a bad situation they can hurt or kill you so ya better give them your full respect. bulls well just stay away from them altogether.

Dollar spent half of his career with Mike Williams, he'd been around hogs a lot and rarely bothered them. That particular boar he couldn't let alone though. As far as cattle, I've been around em a lot, and chased by them a lot. Use your head, know the cows, and go on.
