Our hopes have been dashed for yet another year. I really thought that we had a chance this year. Oh well, I don't know whether to be disappointed that there isn't a Redbone in the Final Four or proud that a Redbone was 12th and 13th. Since we are the underdogs and everybody knows that Redbones can't compete with the walkers because they are just pleasure dogs anyway, I guess that I will just be proud that a Redbone was 12th and 13th out of more than 600 dogs, but I still can't congratulate them for losing. Now we need to focus on next year. Woody and Boone are both young dogs and should be even better next year. Who else has one that they think can compete? You have a whole year to get them ready. Should you start now or wait until next August?

Thanks for all the support.

The support for all 4 Redbones has been great. All the phone calls, txt and posts let us know we had a bunch of good Redbone people behind us. It has been a great time.
Recap of this week: We got to meet Brian Layton (Owner of UKC World Championship High Scoring Redbone female Classy Cali) up at John Delcamps place Wednesday night. John called and offered us a place to stay Wednesday. John knows how to take care of coonhunters. He fed us good and had a real nice place for us to stay and keep our dogs. We really enjoyed meeting Brian and Cali. Congrats to Brain and Cali. They drew a real good Walker female "Moth Bawls", that beat us Saturday of Zone 2. They had a close cast and Brian and Cali nearly won it. Cali must be tough as nails.
We got beat Thursday first round by the Lyla female. Lyla is a very good female that won it straight up. We had a good hunt.
We enjoyed visiting with Doug Moore, Danny Biggert, Jared and Keith Hutcheson .
I was very glad to see Woody and Boone get through Thursday and advance to Friday. These 2 males are really good dogs, I was sure our breed had a good chance of getting to the final 4. Congrats to both for placing 12th and 13th.
Going forward:
I hope to see people with good females breed to Woody or Boone. Flow and I have drawn out with both and have been beat by both. Both impressed me a lot. Both are balanced*, consistent, cast winning hounds. These type of dogs win a lot and are enjoyable to pleasure hunt. Both have great breeding and both have real good mouths on them. Both dogs are owned by "good guys". If we want more Redbones in the finals, then seriously consider going to Woody or Boone.

* Balanced: Strike, Track, Tree.

Thanks again for all the support. We had fun.
A special thanks to our Backup Handler Jeff Murphy for all his help and support.

Smile Final 4

The Walker female Lyla beat Flow out in the first round. Beat Woody out in the 3rd round. I see she is leading in the Final four tonight. She is a good one. Maybe she will win it all.

Update: Lyla won it all.
