I've got a great ideal you should mention to SETWD COMMITTE THIS Year. On Thursday night of setwd they should start the first stud dog hunt ever. I think it would be great for the sport and actually let folks see who's the real deal in the woods and the breeding pen. I know that don't or want help them reproduce but man I think it would be so much fun. They could give a big trophy out and do a right up on the high scoring dog. You know it would be big time competive lol. They could donate the money to a good cause or keep it for the youth hunt. Either way it needs to be mention.

Great Idea. Would be fun I guarantee!!! STUD that won Thursday Night could display TROPHY Friday an Saturday.

Tim, that is a great idea. This may fire some people up and get those studs out of retirement. You are right this has nothing to do with reproducing capabilities. But would be cool to see what it would be like. I'm sure it would bring a lot of interest. I just think it would be neat to see all these dogs that people read on a day to day basis on a scorecard!

I didn't do any good, hunted a 15 month old out of Money, kinda like a trial run to see how he operated with strange dogs, I made a quick tree call on a feeder that I didn't know was there an he moved about 30 yards, he operated good, He is a low end strike dog, can't even get a babble LOL but good lord he is loud, they had 2 NtCh cast I think but I didn't go back to the club so I have no idea who won, for what it's worth you guys need to put together a hunt format such as entry fee, nite hunt rules, dates, what qualifies as a stud, advertising, you need to show SETWA how they can profit on a Stud dog hunt an they will listen and maybe consider it, count me in and i will be glad to work with you any way I can.

Great idea. I had ask last year to have hand out done with the stud dogs in them in it. That the public could have something to look back at. Because UKC could put the numbers in it on pups and titled pups. But someone in the barn had around 700 pups with less than 30 titled, did not want anyone to see that. Maybe I can ask this year to see if we can get it.

As far as a hunt History would be the hardest hunted stud dog and hard to beat. Thank god that would not be bad for me, he is grandson of WARRIORS daddy, RAT.

Plus you got OL blood Tracer who won last year in there who would be strong on his home truf.

LOVE to see Trackman or Sweat It go in North Carolina.

Better yet lets see them on the plywood.

You know we could have big cast because everyone states there dog will not back, we could just go 8 different trees

Hope it happens..

Be nice if it all works out, get UKC on board. $100 entry, being a current, "paid up" performance sire qualifies you to hunt in the "stud hunt" , winner get 1year free 1page, color stud add in the coonhound bloodlines and free nomination of performance sire for the following year.

Jeremy the performance sire idea would definitely be a qualifier for the hunt. I think that is really the only thing that you could state that "qualifies" a stud.

High x GRNTCH hardwood x press

One quick coon treeing machine. Made three drops tonight with two singles and one beach den. I bout forgot what it was like to see it done in style. But ole jr will do it in style. Hunter I'm looking into trying out a all grand two year old female that's supposed to be a bad out fit. If she is I'll finish her out and high x will have him a date after I see how far she goes in the hunts. But that's a big if I get her.

Eric called and told me that he put another win on Helen. Hopefully she will be finished by the time she comes in. She is one of the smartest hounds I've ever been to the woods with. Has a very unique mouth, but most importantly she is very very good about having a coon! I cannot wait until she is bred to X!

I'd like to have another off X in the near future, he ain't getin no younger. An older guy I hunt with has a young female about a yr old or so off X and Wild Fire Fancy, that pup is a natural and has started herself. You won't see very many at all the has the hunt that she does. This man has owned some big time dogs like Hardwood Henry, Stylish Reno, Tombstone Kate and plenty more has been in world finals of different registrys, he been around. And he says he likes what he sees from his X pup.

This female is making a good one. Three out of four trees had the meat in them. I'll get u some videos of her. Plus I know where another male is off x that looks just like x. He's going to be a good one. Trust me both will be ntch and on there way to grntch when I'm done. Got that bug again where I'm chopping at the bits again to hunt. Also bought another nice female that will be bred to x

Tim, that is great news I'm sure you will have her finished very soon. Have had several good pup reports the last couple of weeks. There's a handful of them just need a cw to be nitech and several money winners.
