in Alabama....first nite with the old dog ran and treed like a trained hound. He is tickled pink. 8 months old. Only hunted a handful of times by herself.

If I put one up for sale it is a deal. Flash is down in Miss on trial to Matt Bell. Likes what he sees so far. Good looking, hard hunter with a nice tenor bawl mouth on track. I think she is going to throw great pups and I think that is what Matt has on his mind for her.

Dual ch. Hortons Bullet...lock Box's littermate down in Shannon Ms. bout 20 min from Tupelo. He is the real deal stud dog. Throws real smart pups that start early. A couple of 18 mo littermates out of Bullet are winning in the hunts right now.

win with Bodacious (Bo) that gives Tyler 4 Nt. ch wins. Weego owned by Keith Medley just got his 4th awhile back.
So thats two of the males that will be Grand Nite real soon.
Every dog from the cross that has been competitioned hunted has won. There's one sister with about $300 won in PKC another sister has two 1st place wins and a club hunt first place as well.
Another brother has around 300 won in PKC. Another brother has a 2nd place.
They just turned 3.
This is a world class cross. These young dogs were all singled out by themselves by 8 months old.

They all have mouths like lions. even the females. And non of them will pull. No matter how close or how far the next dog treed is.

You guys need to hit Tyler up and breed to Bo asap. I have a female that should come in next month that I plan on breeding to him if she comes in. If you have a female that comes in and you are looking for a dog to breed to then come go hunt with Tyler. He will take you with Bo under any conditions.
Bo could have been Gr. Nt. way before 3 years old but he got eaten up on the tree by a pit bull that came from a house and laid him up for several months. Punctured a lung and broke some ribs. Even that didnt run him off the tree and he is a 50 lb dog.
His mouth is as loud as any mans dog. period.
He is indpendent and will be found on his own tree somewhere every hunt. He has never failed to win a cast without shutting the cast out on at least one coon.
Blood red head and complete blanket back. He is a beautiful dog. also a show champion. So he will end up a dual grand when all is said and done.

Tyler will be running full page stud ads on Bo in the near future and on here as well. There are several local hunts in the next three weeks within driving distance so with just a little break he will be a grand nite.
Right now there is not a major advertised stud off of Lock Box.
Both Keith (the owner of Lock Box) and tyler will be advertising their dogs real soon.
Tyler is a first rate kid who just graduated high school. He got Bo as a pup from me as a 9th grader going into the 10 grade and made Bo everything he is.
Bo has treed 1 possum in 3 years and ran one armadillo and other than that. He is dead broke. You can hunt him through a herd of deer and he will come out the other side treed.

If you want to come hunt with Bo or breed to him, PM me and Ill give you Tylers number. He will be going off to College in August so he will be very busy. Bo won the nite ch cast saturday nite aith 325 plus and there were 6 nite ch.s that nite and it was 110 degrees here with the heat index. Still 90 plus when the sun went down.
Bo is the real deal. Get in while the getting is good.

as you can tell...lots of skuna River.....dam is double Bark bred up close. product of Grand daughter back to her grand daddy. Bark being the line bred grand daddy. Thats how I like to line breed them. One of my favorite line breeding crosses is Grandfather back to granddaughter if the Granddaddy is the real deal. Bark was the real deal

One of hunting friends Grant Vinson in Batesville, Ark and I are partners on this super nice young hound. Cat wasnt hunted but a handful of times by the time he was a year old when Grant and I got him. He is now 18 months old in just a few days. Grant text me this morning and said he treed almost 3/4 of a mile from him in waist deep water to CAT and he had the meat. All by his lonesome. Very good loud mouth bawl mouth track dog and 120 to 130 barks per min on the tree in 100 degree weather last nite.

When I first got my hands on him he was dead independent and didnt care what anything else did period. Grant has hunted him with another dog and whether they tree or not makes him no difference. He wants his own thing.

If he progresses like he appears to be, we will be offering him at stud in the near future.
He is a tan headed solid blanket backed small tight built dog about 45 lbs and muscled up from the floor up. Has a mouth much much bigger than a dog his size.

Bullet his dad is a littermate to Lock Box and throws the exact same kind of dogs that Box does. High energy, natural and easy to train dogs that are extremely smart.
When we get him ready for stud service, we have a couple nice gyps we will breed to him.

Ill update yall with some pics and videos in the near future.
Just wanted you to keep him in mind when you start wanting to look for something to breed to next spring.
Check this pedigree out real good. Not many bred like this.

Just got our room confirmation. I will try and be at or around my good friend Bob Osbarns set up Timber Creek Hunting supplies.

I am going with my two hunting partners Ed Walker and his son John Walker. John is hunting his Nt. ch son of Bone collector Southern Farms Jeb.

Jeb will make you check you oil, so if you are hunting in the Nt. ch. cast Sat. nt. you better be locked and loaded. haha

Weego is out of the Box/Boots cross I made three years ago. He will Keiths replacement for Lock Box. He is already reproducing and they just turned three back in the spring.
keith has some pups off of him that are five months old that are flat getting after a caged coon and will swim a good sized pond without fear.

Tyler Hawkins down here in Batesville, Ms has a littermate bro that needs one more win being grand. So you can breed to him if you are down here in the midsouth. He is a nice young dog. Loud, loud, loud. It is hard to hear yourself think if he barks and you're standing next to him. Beautiful red headed and full blanket backed.

If you have a nice female I can hook you up with tyler and his phone number and he will take you with him under any conditions. Hot, wet or dry. he will tree you a coon if there is one on the ground.
completely straight and smart as a cur dog.

Grant Vinson has a sister to these two who has two first place wins. three more have money one and another one has a second place in UKC.
This blood line will reproduce if you give them a chance.

this was an awesome cross. The one I kept was singled out at 6 months old and was splitting treeing with the coon by 8 months old. I killed several coons with her between the ages of 6 and 8 months by herself.
Eddie Muse one of the best dog trainers took Bark in at less than a year old and spent one month with him and was treeing coons in style with him every nite by himself before the 30 days was up.
A mouth second to non and a tree dog second to non.

I am working on trying to get him up to North Miss for breeding purposes for you guys that like lots of skuna River with a shot of Rat in it.

Dont waste his time. If you want to breed and you see blood on your female, then call him and book it. He doesnt play around on the phone. He works for himself so he is a very busy man during the day.

Weego has a big big mouth for a 50 lb dog. That whole litter was stone independent. Boots would not cover a dog at all unless you struck out of the truck. Thats how independent she was.

You guys who are like me always looking for a small tight made female well I have her. At some time we will breed her but that is several months down the road. She just went out of heat. We want to put a hunt title on her as quick as we can and Ill put a bench title on her right after the winter classic. I hope to show her in the show portion and will hit as many state hunts and shows as I can get to.

She is without a doubt one of the smartest, most muscled up little dogs I have ever owned. I lost one like her years ago and have never stopped looking for her replacement. My good friend Doug from Noth Carolina allowed me to own this little diamond. Thanks Doug. We plan on breeding her to the best bred coondog we can find down the road. Doug and I expect to be hunting her sons and daughters in the next few years. Right now I enjoy her as much as any dog I have owned in a great long while.

Won Best of Show with competition.
Our plan right now is to show her at the Winter Classic. This will be just her second show, so we have our work cut out for us. It is hard to show a coondog against world class show hounds, but we cant win if we dont enter right?
If I didnt think I had a chance, I would save myself the embarassment.
She is starting nice in the woods now as well. She got a late start but she is catching up. this is a dual purpose dream rite here.
We will finish the year out with her getting her trained out and granded out on the bench and then we will look to breeding her next spring. Got a Dual Grand in Mind.
Ill keep you guys posted on her progress and when we get closer to breeding time.
She is what a lot of us look for. Small, Tight made. athletic, and most of all intelligent. She learned to Heel and sit in about 30 minutes. thats pretty smart even for a cur dog. 39 lbs soaking wet. If you like the small ones like I do...here she is. I am proud to own her.

We will be on the floor Fri morning at about 8:30 Look us up and introduce yourself.

Thanks for the support. I got a lot of compliments and had two guys call me up the next day wanting to know more about her. She impressed everyone that saw her. She's a knock out and will produce Knock outs next spring.

Keith Medley has a Weego female for sale off of an American Express female. Someone needs to jump on that pup. Said she is small and super loud. Weego has an ubelievable horn on him for a small dog. Nice head for a box dog as well.

Also a brother to Weego made Nt. champion Sat. nt. Thats two nt. ch. one Gr. Nt. ch and a sister with two firsts. The other sister and one other male have several hundred dollars won in the other KC. These dogs were bred and built to compete.
All three Males that are titled are at stud right now. Two of them are getting ready to breed their first females and one of the sisters of weego is coming in heat and is going to be bred, so there will be several pups hitting the ground that will be first generation pups off them. Keith has bred weego several times and one of the other sisters has young dogs on the ground that were running and treeing at 5 to 7 months old. good looking as well.

So keep checking our posts and as soon as these guys starting hitting the ground with pups Ill give you the heads up to get in on some super nice bred pups that are proving that whether they are off the males or the females the reproduction is still the same. young hard going independent types with big mouths and smarts.

If you want to just say hi or maybe you need someone to pray for you. I have some great and I mean great coonhunting parnters that are lovers of God and can flat throw down a pray for you that will get God's ear. Lady's too and most of them will have killed more deer than a lot of you and put on boots and stand there and pray with you in the trenches. That's pretty special.

Either way just come by and hook up with some more believers and if you feel like praying with a group or one or two, Then get after it. This country needs prayer more than you can imagine. I think it's hands are in the balance of the prayers of his Saiints right now. We need to get on with it and not just talk about it.
The word says that God can change his mind. If you believe that, then come join us and lets Get r Done.

Either way we are all in. She may get inside that big huge building and decide to come out of the shute like a wild bucking mule and you may have to help me run her down. haha

Ive been getting a lot of calls lately wanting to know where to get a pup or young dog. Folks want quality just like I do. I dont have any right now. I am trying to put crosses together from dogs that I know will reproduce. Im trying to find some of the best females other guys own and marry them up with stud dogs that I repsect or coondogs that I have personally hunted with that I believe can contribute to the walker breed. I am a serious breeder and dont want a cross made that isnt the best possible for the breed. Not all work and not all are world beaters. But the majority make top hounds real early and are still top when they are older or die of old age.
I will post crosses when they are made and let you get in touch with the owners. They will be pups that you can bet I have put lots of thought and engouragement into cause there is a lot of jealousy in the walker breed and hundres of studs on the stud page. But if I have learned anything. To promote a breed, a cross or a line of breeding you must and I say MUST have two things that will determine the success of anyone one of these things and that is a strong reproducing female and the pups must be put into the hands of serious hard hunters.

So if you are a dead serious hunter that wants to win in competion in the woods or bench or both, you must do homework.

I am trying to do that for you.
There is a cross now that has been made is under the post for a lock box/ Boots stud ad.

Keep checking my kennel ad if you are looking for a pup or young dog I feel is a quality chance.

p.s. I am pondering putting together a Breeders video and maybe a coonhunters pod cast to watch each week about coonhunting and breedings. That is in the planning process. Meeting with a videographer to see what the details would be like and if he has the time to do it. He works a real job for a living and also runs all the media production for our very busy church and keep up with a pack of grandkids so I am on the low end of the priority pole.

Give me some feedback if thats something that would interest you or what you would like to see on either. Ill take it into consideration and see if I can work it out.

I know sum serious successful breeders in my area that have my line of dogs and have been successful kennel operaters who are also great breeders and have probably 150 years of breeding experience. They are some of the guys I learned from over the years. It would do us all good to hear their take on breeding hounds and also training them.

getting Peep signed up for the show and then visiting a little bit with some good ole hunting buddies.
This is an awesome hunt and is set up in a great great venue. Man this is big time. I am real excited to get after it with the big boys and gals.

I encourage you to drive down just for the day either day. Man it is a coonhunters vendor dream. You cant go ten feet and not see some of the best coonhunting supplies thats available. Awesome atmosphere.

When I am not showing, I will be in the North East corner right next to Timber Creek hunting supplies. Come buy some gear from my buddy Bob Osabarn. He is a super nice guy and has always and I mean always the best guy to deal with I have ever seen. Anybody that buys from him comes back and is loyal to him.
He will honor his word and is always a good source for used equipment. He will work with anbody.
We will have the coonhunters for Christ booth with some t shirts and bumper stiickers. all the money goes back into t shirts and stuff. Its mainly to have a place to hook up with other believers and share the gospel or just to say hi to another traveler just passing through. Know what I mean.

We wont preach at you but just show the Love of Christ to you.
But if your are curious and mite have a question about the bible, I will have a buddy there that is a 76 year old Bible studier. He has read through the bible about 55 times and knows the jewish tradtions forward and backward. Fun fun guy to talk to. Used to be a military navy sub spy. Man he has stories that will curl your hairs at what went on with Russia back during the 50's.
Wild wild stuff haha you get the bang for the buck meeting this guy.
HOpe to have him there Friday after noon and Sat. afternoon. I hope to be there by 1 or so Fri depending on how far I make it it the show. If I dont have any success be there most of the day sat.

We won our class today against a real good show hound. very fortunate to win that and then got beat for the treeing walker breed wiiner. Got beat by a very nice hound. This was Peep's 2nd show of her life and I have had her just two months. To be that competitive against top flight show hounds when she is from coondogs...Ill take it. Next year we will be ready. She will grand out quick. You would not believe the number of compliments I received about her. I mean she made men just flat stop me and ask me what she was out of. Men who liked small dogs fell in love with her and I couldnt go 50 feet hardly without somebody stopping me. I am flattered and blessed.
This is a nice little female and is world class on the bench when I get her fully trained. She is making a tree dog and just getting started. We took a couple weeks off to get ready for the winter classic plus we had snow a few days.
We fixing to get back after it in the woods this week.

Planning a big cross next spring on her. Save up your dough for a 2017 model that will be bad motor scooters both ways.

saw tons of old buddies...some been so long I didnt recognize until the last second and old timers kicked in and stumble with their name for a second.
Saw some world champions in the Dog Barn for less than 500 bucks. haha
Several nice pups of all breeds for sale there.
So a litter of Skuna river pups that had two left when I left today. I know the guy that has them. I think they are out of a grandnite son of Bark by a repete mom who is a nt. ch. gr. ch.
Pups were priced pretty cheap for how they were bred $200 ea.
You couild probably call whimp aaron and get Shorty's number. I dont know his name just his nickname and dont have his number but he hunts dogs for wimp.
So some Loose Bred pups for a change down here. they wanted $350 a pc for them and I think those folks live in simpson il.
Hayes creek Kennels Wayne Moore 618-695-4975. If I had not had a pup or two coming soon Id have gotten one of them. very gamey and lots of color. three males left I believe. all good looking. 3 months old. mom went back to bruce 3 times and daddy was a son of Merchants Bounce I believe.

Anyway. Got lots of calls and congratulations on our Junior Walker female win which wasnt much, but I'll take it. It made the bylines on the UKC front page for Fri results. haha We will give um a run for their money next year.

Glad I saw all the guys I did. Met and made several new friends. Thats what its all about. Yall come next year. It was just an awesome time.

Me and Peep fixin to hit the local trail wide slam open and if she continues like I hope, we mite take a shot at the Alabama state title. In March.

Congrats Rick! Not bad for her first or second rodeo!!! You guys will do great things together , We will have to get together one of these years when I am out that way.
