HIGH LIGHTS

Me an good friend of mine Mr. Hinton went a little while last night . I took Snooter and he took his black an tan puppy and we headed to some cornfields where we thought for sure we have some good races an see a few on the outside. But it was the most DISAPPOINTING hunt I have seen in a long time . Tracks were awful and could not even get after a good running track at all. Good signs that the coons were eating the corn but I don't know if they moved early or latter in the morning or what ! The clouds had moved out after a couple of rain showers we had that afternoon an the moon was full , so maybe it did not help any who knows. Called it a night at 1:30 am and hopefully I can figure out when they are working thes cornfields and have a better hunt the next time. Enuff SAID!

Had a nice vist with Mr. Trent Winder and his faimly today , they came up to get a pair of Banjo pups . Mr. Winder has 3 nice prospect for the coon hunting world. It's nice to see the young ones have so much excitement when they are picking up a pup and the smiles. Next time he will have to let Darren cross the state line with him and take a ride over to the mountains. Ihope you guys had safe trip home and let me know how things go with the pups . Like I told you , soon as ukc sends the papers back to me I will mail you guys your papers best of luck and nice meeting you again Mr. Winder an your faimly , very nice looking bunch you have. Thanks Michael

BLITZ

Went by myself Friday night, my boy Braxton been getting ready all week for our open day of bow season and could not talk him into going any this weekend. So I went over to farm and cut Blitz down a slough that feeds back into the main creek and he hunted out for an hour an never opened his mouth in thes bottoms . So I snap him and walk down the creek an unsnap him and he was gone about 30 minutes when I heard him strick about 400 yards going south down the creek. He drifted the track futher down the creek and had crossed it several times and I could tell that the track was starting to heat up some. He made his way off the creek an started trailing up a ridge an turn it back down toward the creek an all things came to an end . Blitz loads up an I made my way into him , he was at the edge of the ridge an a bottom . Treed on a small white oak that went into a magnum white oak tree that had muscadine vines running all through it. Found a good spot to shine but could not ever get the coon to look but I felt like he had it. Look at my watch an it was 2:30 am so I called it a night had some bush hogging to do in the morning.

SATURDAY NIGHT- BLITZ

After working in the field most of the day I called a good friend of mine that has a farm closed to where I was raised at and to see if I could drive up an hunt awhile. He told me to come on and bring plenty of shells that the coons had done a number on his corn crop this year. So after watching the Alabama game I loaded Blitz up an drove north. First drop I unsnaped him on a line of hardwoods that seperated 2 corn fields and it did not take long to get a track started. He ran a coon in the south corn field and took it out into a small patch of hardwoods an loaded up with the meat. 2nd drop I unsnap him pointed north toward the other corn field and Blitz struck in at 397 yards an drifted in out of the corn field and work his way toward the creek . Iheard him load up , so I made my way to him. He was treed on a large hickory tree that the limbs were touching into other trees and I could not get it to look . 3rd drop I turn Blitz into the north cornfield and he left out a screaming going threw the cornfield like a mad dog and the race was on. He ran this coon for 35minutes or better and was stepping on him all the way to the tree. When I got to the tree I found the coon sitting on the first limb an squalled and he jumped out and Blitz caught him half way down the edge of the cornfield. It was 3:30 am so I called it a night . Good luck to all that advance to the WORLD HUNT!

HIGH LIGHTS

Me an Braxton loaded up Blitz and decided to make 1 drop in a cornfield to see if we could get one treed. Turn Blitz out right up the middle of the corn and he struck about 150 yards an was opening here an there. About half way through the cornfield the track started to get better. He took it out of the corn an work it through some flats with a small creek that ran like a snake that runs through thes flats. Just about the end of the woods we heard him load up , so we made our way to him and he had 3 small coons in a walnut tree. So I had Braxton to roll 1 out to him. After hitting him a couple of times he decided that he would just run out on his own and the race was on again. He ran up this small creek about 300 yards or so and went up but this time he came out flying straight down . Called it a night work comes early!

HIGH LIGHTS

Me an Braxton and his friend Hunter went for awhile last night. Took Blitz , 1 drop he struck about 200 yards out in front of us an did not take long at all to get hookup but I notice that he wasn't treeing right but would not move.So we made our way into him and he was up on a big white oak tree but going over to a small hard wood tree that touch the white oak tree. Started shining an could not get anything to look and just happen to look closer at the small tree and found a GREASER , pulled him off an took him to the wood shed.2nd drop I sent him up the edge of a corn field and he struck in at 447 yards and work the track for along time , it was cold and the ground is very dry here. Then we heard him load up across the other end of the corn field an we took off to him. He was treed on a beech tree and the coverage of the top was thick but could not get anything to look . We called it a night, enuff said!

Me an Braxton went for awhile last night and the way it started and ended we would have better stay at home. Caught a cold on top of it . Its dry here but the temperature are nice though. 1st drop Blitz struck in at 315 yards down a creek and got treed in some blowed over tree tops and seen nothing. 2nd drop he just falls treed an we went to the wood shed. 3rd drop he left the country and got struck and work a track going south down the creek . We soon heard him load up and was on a big white oak that was hard to shine , it could have been there or maybe not . So we called it a night, taken some cold an sinus medicine be ready to it tomorrow night LORD willing .

HIGH LIGHTS

Iwent Thrusday night for awhile , just me an Blitz. Cut Blitz down a creek and he was gone about 45 minutes before he ever drew a bark. Look at the garmin and it showed him 863 yards down the creek , heard him open up and could tell that the track was a feed track . He work it across an up an down the creek, hit here an there on trees but just wasn't ready to settle on the tree yet. Then I heard him load up , so I made my way down the creek to him . Shine for awhile on the outside of the creek but just could not get him to look , so I step out into the creek and I found him out on the edge . So I rolled it out and you talking about a coon that work him over in the creek well he did. After all this I called it a night 5:30 comes early, enuff said!
