That is great. So glad he is doing good for you. He is one nice young hound.
I tried to save mine for 10 days but with a broken back and front leg it was almost impossible. I finally decided to put him to sleep. Was a sad time here.
I have decided to make this cross again so at that time Sam will be a super stake sire so the pups will be super staked.
Again, congratulations on the win with Duke.

Bill so sorry about you loseing your young male, most of us that have been around awhile have had it happen and it just plane hurts.
My Sam male is looking and acting just like a 12 week old pup should. Likes to go his own way and I have to keep an eye on him, with the yotes around here he would be easy pickens.
I hunted with Jensons young Dozer female, she got treed on two broke dogs on a den. She also got in on a couple other trees that night. Very loud hard tree dog for 7 months old.
My Piazon female will be out of heat the 20th this month and cant wait to get her in the woods a couple of times. Wont be much because I like to be able to see up those trees a little better than I can right now. But fall is right around the corner. Best to you and yours. Ron Jackson

Good hearing from you.
Yeah, I hunted with Jensons young Dozer pup around a month ago and she would get gone and would tree good that night. Guess I will probably putting mine in the woods now that my young male is gone.
My female pup off Dozer is nice but just at a good age and a good time for her to be taken to the woods. These pups being grand pups of Uchtmans Hawk and Manns Pounder should do something. Mine also has a good mouth. If she makes she will probably be crossed onto Sam.

Good hearing from you. Yeah, time slip by does it not? Remember, seems as yesterday when we slept in a tent in Mich. it was Doc Householder, you, Me and the fellow from Lodi, believe his name was Eddie but not sure. We attended the Bluetick hunt in Belleview Mi. when Dave Dean was there and active in the hunts. We were young and tough then, weren't we? I will probably end up making the same cross again and see.
Here is a good laugh.
I had a walcur man tell me once that he thought I was the greatest trainer he had ever seen. I said to him what would make you say that? I do not think of myself as a great trainer. He then jokingly said to me that anyone that can train a Blue dog has to be great. I just laughed.
Take care and really try and come up and we will turn em loose.

I am going to come up and turn them loose. I am looking foward to coming up. The Guy's name was Ed Williams. He owned the Old Rattler Dog out of Hussler and Neil. He also owned Hussler II when his name was Chief. He traded Doc Chief for Angel and then Doc named him Hussler II. Later Ed quit hunting and gave Angel back to Doc. Yes we were tough then. I could cut a dog off and use a lead on him for running deer but now that's not an option.LOL! I loved going to MI. back in the day with all the Guys. Lot of good memories. Dave

Got a call from Max Gibson from Wisc.
Max says he won first place this past week end with his young male, Gibson's Wood Tick Mr. Bill which is off of my Rosie female and Terry Tucker's Boomer. Mr. Bill is already a grand show Ch.
Keep it up Max and he will soon be a dual.

Wayne Chonko's pup out of Sam and my Zee female at 3 1/2 months old. His name is Roscoe. He isn't afraid of a coon, water or tearing hides.. Wayne did not just show him a fresh hide, he laid a track with it and the pup found it all alone. Wayne is so happy with him

Smokin' Guns
Right now he has two females bred to him. One in S. C. and the other in Ohio. The one from Ohio is owned by Larry Mellott, of Lisbon Ohio. I do not have any of mine bred to him now but will be breeding Lace and Rose and Mattie to him when they come in.

Dan thanks to you and Ron for the update on the puppies.
Looks as of now they might be some nice ones. Might have been be a good cross. Is there is a nice male pup from this cross that might be for sale? If so let me know.

Hi Bill. Here are a couple pictures of Sam and Zee pup at almost 18 weeks old. He weighs 30 pounds to the ounce and is a slender athletic built pup. Probably end up around 60 pounds or so I think. This was the first time on the chain and he only fought it for about 2 minutes. I will continue that several times a week now then on to the lead strap.

I am getting this male from Ron Jackson this weekend. Ron was nice enough to sell me Sambo since I had to put Blue Boy down after getting him hit on the road. Sambo looks a lot like Sam. Right age to start and right time of the year.

Hi Bill. Just givn ya an update. Duke got a 1st in ukc last night. Ken was handling him and I wasnt there but he tells me he was split all night.

He put him in a pkc hunt the wednesday before. Got out of pocket and didnt win his cast. Had 1st tree with the others covering him at the start. When they turned him loose again they never herd him again. Other dogs treed one within hearing. Found Duke after the hunt a mile away under a coon.
