Your welcome anytime. I don't competition hunt during the week, I train. I enjoy good dog work regardless who's it is. The Boy that owns half of my female now has some outstanding hunting and a whole lot less traffic.

ive had the same thing happen to me and i knew the tree was slick just by the way the dog sounded ive hunted with it enough but the guy swore the coon was up there and kept shinen his light to this spot and sayen look there he is but i wasnt fallen for it and this dog was a grandnight he wasnt even a dern walker dog eather just goes to show you titles dont mean **** when it comes to a dog being a COONDOG now are they titled dogs out there that are coondogs yes and i also wish you didnt have to qualifie for the world you should be able to just pay a entry fee and hunt i belive they would be more real coondogs brought out of the wood works that would only get hunted because it being a world hunt and you would weed out the low scoren **** eaters.

To each his own......I was just making the point that brains (in dog or handler) is getting rare. As long as it stays out of trouble I am fine with that. When I was younger I have seen six dogs on one small tree. All gave space and had no problems. They were trained to respect another dog. They had no problem sharing a tree and did not have to bark 120 per minute to let us know where they were. Breeding super hard no brained tree dogs has hurt the breeds as much as the all grand pedigree in my opinion. Just like with humans the common sense and problem solving has been bred out to a dog that will just sit down and tree when the track gets to tough. That is where they come up short.

i agree on helping not hurting the breed. the number one exuse i here for a dog slick treeing is aahhh he is just out of shape...no he aint he just dont have a nose on him to work a cold track and brains might be lacking to but i bet he has a set of pretty papers on him. and ive seen coondogs with nice papers on them but its rare ive seen alot of all grand pups that people (pissed away) pay 300 to 500 a pup for thrown over the deer dog fence and left for deer dogs and they wasnt even good at that.

i agree id much rather a dog sit back than fight if the onley way it can tree because of a gator ill take it if the ill dog is still after him id rather he leave and get another but i perfer one be on the tree when alone or in good company

Every bloodline in every breed is liable to throw a few rough ones. I don't see the need or gain to come on here and single out one paticular stud. I know of Studs in the past that consistantly threw rough dogs and people flocked to that stud just because he won the world hunt. I'm sure if Elvis had won the world hunt ,this post would never have been started. I could sit here and write the same thing about every stud out there but that's not going to stop people from breeding to them if that's the dog they feel is best for them. I feel we have beat this dead horse enough. I could sit here and list many top females that are rough themselves ,but what's the use? Everyone is going to form thier own opinion and act accordingly. Everyone has thier own definintion of "mean" so what do these kind of threads accomplish, absolutely nothing, so why even start them. I wish everyone good luck with the up and coming year and hope you and your hounds always make it back home safe.

I remember UCHA, started by Ray Wilhite from Indiana if I remember right. I hunted in one at Tenneeson, In. and Mayfeild Ky if memory serves me right. I was hunting a direct son of Boyds Little Joe. If I remember right the entry fee was $75 and you won $1500 for first place.
