The more upgrades I make the more money I spend, but if that is what it takes to stay on top of the game well I guess that's the way it goes.
The first unit I bought I got the 220 and 5 DC 30's, then the 320 comes out and I sold the 220, and all but 2 of my 30's because at that time the 30's were going for all most as much as the brand new 40's,
I read some of the reviews and such and still read them, and I know there are die hard 30 users out there, but I put the 2 DC 30's next to the new DC 40's and I seen little difference if any, maybe updated a little faster but not much that I could tell and a little bit more range, again not much in the mts I hunt. I sold the other 30's that I had and ended up with 4 DC 40's. What I noticed the most was the difference between the 220 and the 320, that was the biggie for me.
So after reading these posts here I sit entertaining the idea of selling a perfect 4 dog unit that has seen little use and upgrading to the Alpha, the only reason for this is the shocking option, and less interference, one less collar to keep up with, plus by the time I buy 2 more shocking units for 140 a piece and 2 DC 50's well I am paying more for 2 collars than I could one Alpha. Who takes in trades on Garmin units toward other Garmin units.
