I just wanted to give a update on a few of the Tree Daddy and Lou cross pups. sounds like they are off to a great start,not afraid of much and so far real nice on the eyes. I`ve heard a few have impressive mouths.if you have one of these pups feel free to add your comments.also lining up a B&D Spike female to Tree Daddy in the near future.Thanks for the calls I enjoy talking about hounds in general.It would be nice to get a few more good females bred to Tree Daddy.I`ll post some pictures of my male I kept out of Tree Daddy and Lou.

WE had a nice little hot hunt tonight.I was lucky enough to hunt with another male off of Tree Daddy.His name is Dodger and he is off of Philip Whitley`s Eli female.he has a real nice mouth on him and opens good on track.he is a beautiful male and sounds good on the tree .Philp and Rick and Ricks son and grandson made the trip up from Ky.these guys are a blast to hunt with.Tom and his son DJ and Ted Larger we had a good hunt.Ted was running Dodger and Tom had Image and Baby Six and I had the old one in the bunch Kidd.They all were under coon and Six treed one on top of a ladder.you think you`ve seen it all and she trees on a ladder.we had a great time Ted and Sam his wife to be cooked some hamburgers and I deep fried some fries and of course some bluegill.we had a good time even though it was a hot one.I believe we looked at 6 coon the dogs were under and Tom and Baby Six wasn`t done,they were headed out for a couple more drops.I didn`t have a dry spot on me.we told a bunch of stories and heard a few more good ones.
Still looking for a few more good females to breed Tree Daddy to so if you have one give me a call he is putting some pretty nice hounds on the ground.

i got married bought a fixer upper house about five years ago and and been working alot. after little dyna died it let the wind out of my sails a bit and i almost gave up hunting but i but i got the bug again . i seen tom got on the right side and saw the lite ive talked to him a couple of times and its been good hereing from all u guys over that way. ive got a 9 week old pup off of Gr. Nite Ch Bowens Blue Duece and a smokey river ,cameron bred female . she will run and tree with a couple barks on a hot dog drag up a tree. hopefully i will get to cross her on hank, tree daddy or legend . looking to start my own breeding program with smokey river and smiley breeding as a foundatioin and u always had pretty good hounds and smileys breeding is the closest thing to my old bandit dog we will ,see only time will tell . ill give u a call. got on offer to hunt a wall-cur but i really really feel ashamed if i had to stoop to that level ,thx
Matt did you happen to take any pictures or video of the male Philip has? I know he is LOUD Philip loves that young dog off Tree Daddy and Eli. I'm glad he is hunting some now that he is retired. Those guys will sure make you laugh and they are out to have a good time. Did he bring ole Eli up?
Yes Tree Daddy is putting some nice hounds on the ground and people are missing out.
Congrats on all your line of dogs and doing what your doing. I will be at the Fall Round Up this year in IL. Hope you can make it over.

Wendy just went out of heat.I had planned on breeding her to Rush Creek Oppy.That didn't happen.I never made the trip.I've been having medical issues since last fall.I only hunted 10 nights last winter. Even then I only made 1 or 2 drops.Medical tests this spring revealed that I have acute degenerative arthiritis in the lower lumbar of my back.Surgery seems to be my only option but the doctors say I not BAD ENOUGH yet.My Blues are setting in the kennel.I'm afraid to turn them loose.I've had to many times where I could just barely make it back to the truck. My kennels are full.I have enough dogs to hunt and as I said before,I'm not hunting.I'm doing a few close shows less than a couple hours away but no night hunts. I decided that the trip to breed Wendy and the time involved raising pups that I had no place to put were going to be a burden on me.My breeding program is on hold right now. I need to get the dogs in my kennel hunted to see where I go from here. I'm doing some physical therapy that is helping.I may get to hunting again soon.

Hang in their Robert and Jeremy,sure enough tough times and
were not getting any younger.I hope all goes well with you guys.My dad always told me live would not be easy and try and make the best of everyday.
It would be nice to get a couple more good female`s bred to the Ol Fella.I went with Dodger again tonight and he`ll be alright.I like what i`m seeing out of him so far and he takes his tracks as he comes to them.Good to hear from you guys.

I`m just getting in from going on a mini vacation with my my wife of 29 years today.If it wasn`t for a understanding better half these hounds wouldn`t be what they are today.
I want to Thank Mike Fairchild and his wife Amanda for having us up this past weekend.If you don`t know Mike he is a first rate guy he has a yardful of hounds connected to my hounds and Dennis Upsons.I seen some real hound work out of Slew and Molly and he has a couple good young ones coming on out of Little Blue.we did see a bear yesterday and Slew and Diamond showed over 8 miles on the GPS.Mike and I made the trip south one day and ran with Ken Hitchcock,Mike Shepard.Ken has a couple real good looking young hounds that go back to Stinger and Diamond and one out of Tree Daddy and Fly that are showing some good promise for him.Mike has a good one out of Little Blue and Diamond, I had a good time seeing you guys and I wish you good luck in your training season. these guys have more of my blood then I do.so you know i`m pulling for the hounds to do some good work.
We did manage to get Katie bred to Legend while I was there.Katie is a full sister to Lou and Little Blue, Bawler,Cookie.I know theirs more,Out of that cross that are reproducing outstanding young hounds . Mike will have his hands full around the end of sept. Thanks again for everything.I know Penny and I enjoyed the whole trip.Matt...

Your right Matt, those are some nice looking hounds if I do say so myself. LOL Wish you could have stayed a little longer. Had a good chase Monday and Tuesday, then again today. Saw the bear several times. Huck, Ace and Paige (Jimmys female out of Slew) Are really looking good. When it cools off and they get in shape, think the bears are gonna have a rough time of it. Ken,I had a great time.It was to short for me.I was dozing off on Mike all the time.I know he was tired too. we fit so much in a short time.You have gone out of your way to get these hounds and they sure are good looking hounds.I `m sure they will give you a few good races. I wish the bear were walking when I was up but thats the way it goes.I`m gonna try to get up your way again soon.Good Luck,
Tree Daddy was bred to a nice little gyp tonight.I`ll post pictures and pedigree later.
We turned Tree Daddy loose for a drop and bam he treed a quick one ,I haven`t hunted him for two of three months and he is a little out of shape but wasn`t slow about anything.
Then we turned Kidd and Philip Whitley`s male and they ran and treed a coon quick,two drops and was back home in short time.and bred Tree Daddy and Sky. so were happy to get another female bred to the ol man.Thanks Dan for coming and trying Tree Daddy and choosing him for your female.Thanks guys for your support and I hope these hounds work out for you.take care.

Hey Matt this is Jay Purdy. Finally figured this thing out.
What is the ped on that sky female??
Ol' Huss (my pup out of tree daddy) is a pistol bud, she has been treeing drags since 8 wks old but I put her on her first cage coon this past Friday and she tracked and treed it. Sqaull on the ground, chop on the tree (she can spit em' out) I usually don't put em on a coon that young but she's the exception to the rule. Half crazy, but all DOG!!!
