LiPPER PROSPECTS

Well, I hope they are as I remember. FREAKS. Tom Wilbers and I bred a linebred Finley River Dan 3 female to him. Have never hunted with track dogs like them before or since. Never had tree dogs that were in another world when they treed. Only one way to take them off the tree. Walk up straight behind them, reach out and grab their collar, and take them directly off the tree.

They RAN coons with their heads up. Other dogs had no idea what they were doing. Couldn't smell the track and by the time they did it was too late. Treed more coons in bushes and small trees than you could believe. The coon either climbed or he was caught on the ground. Didn't look at empty trees either.

Finley River Rattler was accused of "running ghost tracks or junk " every time out. Always made me smile. When he treed people thought he was killing other dogs or he was caught in a trap. Had several run to the tree only to find him standing there like a gentleman screaming, squalling, bawling like the world was coming to an end. Never heard dogs tree like that before or since.

So , what was the percentage on his best litter?
Is it high enough to make these pups worth much?

If it was only 10% , how much are folks willing to pay for the " one in ten " chance to get that one pup that makes something?
Pretty slim odds if you ask me.

If they turned down $3000- $5000 for a pup, another guy made an offer of $2000 on this board.........so, I would say they might be worth something............LOL.....

I would love to have one, but I know I am dreaming big time.

This litter of LIPPER pups will have an impact on the Walker breed like no other stud has ( except during Lippers 1st go around )...!!

Good luck Mr. Hopkins with bringing back some BIG mouth, tracking power, slobber-slinging treedogs..........................Tim

Why would this litter have any more impact than any other AI bred Lipper dog. TJ's Lipper and his brother reproduced some nice dogs,BUT they do not have a BIG impact!

IT ALMOST AS IF THEY DO NOT BELIEVE THOSE HOUNDS ARE EVEN OFF LIPPER. HMM COULD THERE BE MORE THAN JUST AGE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO SETS OF SEMEN?

It will make a big impact on the dog world just to see pups walk out history and back into todays time. The dogs don't have to do great. It is just like bringing history back to the future. If we could bring back our great great grand dad. We might not learn a lot but wouldn't it be interesting just to see how he thought and done in the modern day world.
Just being able to bring history to the presant will make a great impact on the way people think about there breeding programs for one thing. It isn't like we have been able to do this kind of thing forever.
I would just love to know someone that gets one that would let me come along and watch it go some time. Matter of fact I would even pay for the experience.

Just being able to bring history to the presant will make a great impact on the way people think about there breeding programs for one thing. It isn't like we have been able to do this kind of thing forever.
I would just love to know someone that gets one that would let me come along and watch it go some time. Matter of fact I would even pay for the experience.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN???

THERE HAVE BEEN LIPPER SEMEN PUPS FOR 10 YEARS! THEY DID NOT CHANGE THE BREED. THERE ARE A FEW GOOD DOGS OUT OF THEM BUT THE WALKER BREED AS A WHOLE WOULD BE NO DIFFEREBT HAD THEY NEVER PULLED THE FIRST STRAW OFF LIPPER. I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST A GOOD LIPPER PUP. MATTER OF FACT I GOT NOTHING AGAINST A GOOD RAT ATTACK PUP. A GOOD COMA, WIPEOUT, NAILOR, PACMAN, OR A GOOD "FILL-IN-THE-BLANK"-BRED PUP CAN LIVE HERE.

GOOD LORD PEOPLE, DO YOU NOT GET TIRED OF THE SAME FLAVOR KOOL-AID?

What makes me go Hmmmm! is to see someone who it is obvious by their postings has a problem with the thread. If they have been on it once they know what is on it, SOOO why don't they just scroll past the offending thead????

Hmmmm!

Okie Dawg, you make some very good points.

I don't think Jerry or Tom either one expected the excitement and hate?? about this litter to take the life it has.

From my memory it started with a posting of the fact Anna had been implanted with 2 year old Lipper semen. And the excitement of the possibilities of this litter.

I haven't talked to Jerry or Tom about this but I would guess they were just hoping to get enough pups for themselves.

It wasn't even certain when they started posting if there was going to be a litter or not.

Then the excitement and maybe hate started to spread and these Litter Of Impact threads took a life of their own.

These little guys that hadn't even been born yet had people talking and wishing for the best results and worst (yes some were wishing a bad results for the pups and Anna).

This Litter Of Impact has already brought a lot of people excitement from following the first postings about the implant to the HAPPY results.

People who aren't happy with the results should just scroll by these threads.

But how can people not be happy about the results?? Even if you aren't a Walker Fan what has happened should still excite you. A successful implant of 26 year old semen.

The possibilities that gives all of us that love these hounds no matter what breed we like. Drawing semen from a very hot 2 or 3 year old today and in 2036 after the young dog of 2010 has proven himself as a producer then use some of this semen on his own bloodline.

It can be done, this litter has proven it and people should be thinking that far ahead because if you do great things can happen.

People want these pups, people have offered large amounts of money for these pups. I don't believe Jerry or Tom either one is worried about how much money they can get for the pups.

I believe both of their main desires is just get the pups old enough to hunt. If someone offers big money for a pup be happy for them, not mad at them.

People who can't understand the excitement about this litter shouldn't get mad about it but be happy for those of us that understand the importance of Jerry Beard's and Tom Hopkins success with the Anna and Lipper pups.
