I dont understand breeding females that want hunt or tree..I know people say the blood is there its just a personal feeling with me...If it can't treea coon, it shouldn't be bred..

I've sat here reading and commenting enough. Queen came in heat last week, Mae started yesterday, I'm going to take "The Ugly Cuss" and see if she can tree a coon, ALONE ! Wish me luck. I'll post when we get done.

1st drop : went huntin', no strike, when I got to feeder I could see nothing had been to it yet, called her in and moved on.
2nd drop : struck a cold track and worked it through a pond and crossed road into another pond, worked through that pond and into a plowed cut-down, caught her as she was headed toward the highway.
3rd drop : Dropped her in another pond, knee deep, she hunted across the pond and into the timber, never struck, checked back in and I caught her and moved again.
4th drop : Shot her in to where Rodney and I ended up treed in a hole, she stayed gone 'bout 30 minutes without striking, I called her in and called it a night.

Coon had been using 3 of the 4 feeders but they must have fed earlier or hadn't been to them yet last night. One thing for sure, she goes hunting without company. Didn't seem to go as hard by herself but went anyway. Doesn't appear to be trashy by herself, but has been known to be a TEAM player with other dogs. LOL.

Dropped The Ugly Cuss and Trash back down at the marsh. They didn't go far and struck hot. Blistered track for 'bout a hundred yards and hushed.(shhhh, we's wabbit huntin') Later Trash strikes and starts working a track back towards us. He brought it almost to us and then started back away from us. I told the boys he was working in a pond and maybe we should tighten up on him since he had bumped a tree. As we were closing in Trash gives a locate. I had seen Ellie going to him but wasn't opening. Trash treed and was wanting to move around, Ellie came in and after a while started giving a few tree barks. Neither acted sure But we leashed them and looked the tree. Couldn't find anything so I tell Gage to release Ellie. She circles the tree and drifts down the side of the pond checking trees. 15 yards and 3 trees over, she explodes. When I found the coon, you couldn't tell Gage squat.

Its true I'm going to get a black dog and I will push him in the hunts if he is what I HAVE BEEN LOOKIN FOR!!!!!!Color don't matter at the time because I have nothin that makes me want to hunt....Code don't look like he will make it back to form and I need something to hunt in the hunts till the youngsters get going...Oh well I guess it will be a Black Dog..We will see if he makes the grade....If he is the deal..Look for me friday or saturday night at red days packin a black dog..[i'm not ashamed]..I spent over 4000 thousand last year tryin to get some descent young blood, and I payed top dollar..Got 1 and he got ran over...Rest seem to have been dudds..So much for blood!!!!THATS MY THOUGHTS....
