Gin 11
Took Gin out for a short run tonight, dropped her off on a couple of feeder buckets that the coons hadn't been hitting very good. I could tell she was smelling one but it was cold. She moved it on in 100 yrds before she got it warm enough for her to open on and then she moved it on in pretty good, I came back out and hit another road to stay fairly close to her. She went on in another 400 yrds and treed. I got even with her and walked on in to her. It was real thick in there where she was at. She was treed up a small tree going up into a bigger tree. I tried to shine it, but you couldn't see much. We left there and headed to the river. Turned her down a branch, she went down it aways and struck and worked on down the branch about 100 yrds and swung out away from the branch and started coming back toward me and she came by me like a streak, I thought she might have picked her up a deer, although I've only had to bump her off of one and I haven't had any more trouble with deer. and she headed on up the swamp. I went around and got ahead of her just in case I needed to cut her off. about the time I killed the 4-wheeler she treed. I grabbed the rifle and went to her, again she was treed up a smaller tree going up into a bigger tree. I took a couple of pictures and started looking for the coon. At first I didn't see him, but there was a vine and I pulled it and he looked at me. I had to give her this one. We went on down to the river and made another drop, She went in and struck again, but it was another cold track. She worked it a while in and out of a slough, but it was just to cold a track for her. I called her out and we called it a night.
Thanks Steve, I'm doing fine, I done got to be one of those fair weather coonhunters. I'm hard to get out of the house if it gets below 30 degrees. I'm sure sorry to hear about Mr. Ed. I've never had a broke rib, but I've seen a few fellows that did and I know that it is a painful injury. I'll be praying for Mr. Ed. I'll wait a few days and give him a call. I hope you are doing a lot better with your Siatic nerve problem. Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Beverly.
