I don't know if you will remember me or not, but my dad and I purchased a little female from you at Orangeburg a couple of weeks ago. When we met you said to feel free to ask any questions, so I thought I would take you up on that. I also wanted to give you a little update on her.

We have decided to name her Kilroy's Racket Maker, Kilroy's after my grandfather who passed a few years ago and Racket Maker because, well, that's about all she does at this point. This is one loud little girl, and persistent. Unfortunately Athens seems to be in a parvo epidemic, and last week she was diagnosed with parvo. My vet alone as seen 6 positive parvo cases, with about half of them being older, vaccinated pups this week alone. No worries, she is fine now and as loud as ever. We aren't going to let this setback get in our way.
My dad is wanting me to bench show her before he starts hunting her. I have no idea what I'm doing and am trying to get information on bench showing. I'm really out of the loop when it comes to coon hounds and bench shows but I would like to give it a shot if she is show quality. I was wondering if you have any advice on how to get started in bench shows. I don't even know where to begin to look for information, how to start preparing her for the shows, or even how to enter. I'm located in northeast GA (Athens) and my dad is in South GA.

Yes i do remember, First i am so sorry that she was diagnosed with this as you will remember we made you an everyone else wash there hands with germ-x before they was allowed to pet our pups, We take all preventive mesures that we can an sometimes that still is not enough but glad she has made it. I know very little when it comes to the bench shows, But what i do know is, Good feed, Keep her nails trimmed, an spend lots of time with her an learn togethere. I hope all is well with you! I look forward to seeing you all at SETWD. Clyde is doing well and we have been having pretty good luck treeing coons. Got the 1st local hunt tomorrow night and we are going to push Clyde pretty hard this spring to get him titled (hopefully).
After talking to you the other day I decided to hold off on the bean x mouse pup. I think i'll hold off for now on that cross even though I personally think they will make some very fine hounds. I took your advice and checked out the cross that you and mike (nycooner) have planned on smoke and Wanda. I like that cross quite a bit and I can imagine that those pups would cross very well back on bean or one of his sons.

I also like the cross you made on smoke x candy and the one you are about to make on lady and bean.
Which of these crosses are you most excited about? I'm looking primarily for a female out of the smoke x wanda cross for possible breeding but I would certainly take a male out of the other cross.

What do you think?

Befor anyone takes what your pm said the worng way, I highly recommended the Bean an Mouse cross but after we talked a little longer it was clear that you was thinking of breeding Clyde one day an thats when i told you about The Smoke x Wanda cross, This cross was made for me to have a female to breed back to my Bean pups, As far as the most excited, The Bean an Lady cross seems to have got a lot of people excited so has the Smoke x Wanda cross, But whats got me excited the most is Bean x Walts Revenge....Bet ya didnt see that coming, Take cair Simon
