That sounds good to me Steve.

We can get him to you when you feel better. You will really enjoy Dozer. We are breeding him and keeping a male and plan on calling him D9 Dozer. Just let me know when you are ready for him. After the snow storms are gone from here though.

The only other bloodline I thought was a close second was the older Timber Chopper line.. You have some beautiful looking hounds there .. keep them in the woods and look forward to seeing them in the winners circle.. Good luck..

Steve,
Take her over to Steve-O, I think you will really like what you get.

I don't know about you but it's a bit snowy for me to go right now.
For us down here when it gets like this coons are hard to find. Of course kitty did get her first in UKC by treeing like 5 coons in a night hunt when all the other cast only treed one coon in this kind of weather but it took her 3 miles to find the first one. Don't think I'm up for that.

Well Dave I was on here earlier trying to respond and the power went out and killed the internet when I was trying to respond to ya. Had to get on the new smart phone I got to respond and I'm still figuring this thing out.

Wow is that good news! Just goes to prove that miracles still do happen. This news just made my week. Then to have a white Christmas to boot.

Well this is sure harder on a phone. :)

Well was planning on getting up north to pick up one of my young ones this weekend but it. Started snowing yesterday and we were lucky to make it my parents for Christmas but we had a white Christmas. Got up this morning and this is what i saw about 10 inches of snow. So the power is out there and at my house. This was the first time since 1939 there was a measureable snow for Christmas up there. Needless to say not going to make it up north. These people for the most part don't have a clue what to in driving on this sfuff and the roads are a mess. The state and counties are not prepared for this stuff like you guys up north.
Well anyways, Everyone Have a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I kind of have two ways to go. I can do a complete outcross and hope for a litter that should really produce some exceptional hounds due to hybrid vigor. Or I can breed her to a like hound of simular breeding that should give me some really nice hounds that should be very much like their parents and should also reproduce well. The first would be the only cross I have ever done just to sell and not to keep, becuase of the shape I'm in. The second or the one with Chase would be for me too hunt, keep & breed.

Bear Burgers went GREAT!

Had our big family get together for New Years again. So Dave I decided to break out the Bear meat you gave me. We trimmed off a little more fat mixed in some bacon and sausage with some extra seasoning threw it on the grill and cooked it up. Well I had never had a bear burger nevermind cook it. My uncle who got me into coonhunting and wanted to know what it tasted like had to tell him I didn't have a clue. Well to everyones delight they were excellent with several going back for seconds. Well we all had a good time. Unfortunately the new exercises from physical therapy had me to stove up to hunt this last week as I had planned but that all just comes with trying to get better.

Hey Dusty if ya want a bear burger come on over. I'm going this weekend after all this rain no matter what even if I am stove up for a week. I can't pass up finally getting some rain for the hounds to track in.

Sounds pretty good

Never had any bear but always up for something new. Rain sure is a good thing for the dogs to bad I have to work all weekend. Might try to squeeze a night in though.

Taking my pup to the vet tomorrow she's been favoring her ears some. I noticed she has been shaking her head and when she barks some she will tilt her head. Hopefully its nothing serious.

Got a trap for Christmas and the first coon I caught in it last week dang near tore the thing to pieces. The trigger plate is bent as if he just stood over it and pulled up on it till it bent then he stripped a piece of the wire all the way off. Turned him loose and gypsy gave him a run for his money dang near caught him before he climbed. She loves getting fur in her mouth.

Boy that sure is nice seeing him at home. Just so great how things can turn out sometimes. That's what I'd call a perfect picture right there.

well its been about 2 1/2 months of hardwork but I finally made it to the woods.

I have yet to go this whole time becuase since I need to stay on my exercises so I can't afford to risk doing anything fun but it sure is working. Got the ok to try some things out and see how I did. I may not be able to move tommorrow but I made it thru a pretty rough night. Dogs looked good as usual. Treed two we shot out in seperate trees one was a lay up. Also had one den and Daisy had a slick trying to wind one. Write more about it later we had to really work for the last one.

This is one of the whole crew when we first got to the lay up. Had to use my phone cuss wife used up my camera. my buddy keeps a blue light on his blue pup and I keep a red one on mine.

How you feeling

I know that you are probably feeling it today after working on that second coon as long as we did. Talk about a muddy mess I had to wash up tracking collar, boots, lead, and clothes last night before it all dried. Plus got a little knot on the arm from wonder dog thinking she was grabbing the coon.

Sure wish all of them would be as easy as the first tree. Sure was tickled my pup was right there with kitty. Just going to have to keep her in some thick coons and she might just turn into a hound by spring. She surprised me sticking around on that second one and never lost interest. She knew he was there and wasn't going to quit just like daisy and kitty. Sure not bad for an 11 month old that has been figuring it out on her own.

Hey Liz about the only one of the 4 Twister pups I've sure enough kept up with and that has been hunted consistently all the way thru is down here by me. He is with a guy that I got into coonhunting in his early teens but he's in his 20's now he sure knows what a coondog is and says he's really a nice one. Get gone type of hound from his first time to woods at 3 1/2 months on. He just pleasure hunts but if I want a pup really tested to see if it's got it he'll put the time in em. Got a guy thinking of breeding to him but this guy can be hard to run down at times.
The Harry pups are all doing well but one which isn't bad since their were 10 of those. This poor female I have has been stuck in tge pen only been out about 6 times now. She'd been laid up for 2 1/2 months without seeing a coon and still thru right in there and trailed and treed with kitty last niggt. She's got a big pretty mouth that sounds alot like kitty just a good bit louder. The only other one I'm not real sure of on coon bayed up a hog for 2 days straight with this guys liaka dog at only 7 months old. He got two and had to pretty quickly quit turning them loose to run in the yard becuase they woul be gone hunting all the time. Suee no lack of hunting drive in any of them.
I like to wait until after season to see how things turned out but from the way they started think there should be some good results once season is thru.
