Norm starling and mark hoverstock from Ohio bred blue cotton candy to smoke yesterday. We shipped semen to them and they surgicaly implanted it. Candy was BBOA national queen of hunt this year. She is out of airplane and was around year and half I think when she won. We r super excited about this cross and getting some pups out in that region. Should produce some big winners. I am working with an outfit in kc to ship and collect semen. We now have frozen semen or can ship it fresh. Smokes sperm count and volume is excellent. Not sure what norm and mark have planned for these pups but if u fellas out in that direction want some pups to start early and competition hunt u might wanna get a hold of him.

Thanks, so far his pups are showing great promise. They are natural tree dogs and push a track hard. We are have fun with the young dogs during the rut. These ole boar coon are giveing us some really good hot races.

The blizzered has arrived. Had 4 in when I left for work. Still comming at us pretty hard. Goin to be a few befor we can hunt again. Put extra bedding in last night so all the dogs are snug and warm. Funny no one was out barking this morn.haha

I love huntin in the snow. This storm came strong and it froze over. In a day or two the top will thaw and I will hunt till it freezes back over. The ice will really cut up a dogs feet but you can have some good short races before it gets bad each night.
Got some pups that it will be good for. They are out of smoke and wendy. They are go getters and just 6 months old. Awsome little coon dogs in the makeing.
Just havein fun with them till they are big enough to push hard.

Got a call from Brendon telling me how excited he is with his Smoke pup. Brendon said that for her age she is exceptional.
On the last two litters everyone of the pups are progressing toward makeing coon dogs. I believe that my Smoke pups are the most outstanding prospects that I have started in a long while. My Smoke and Wendy pups are trying to be coon dogs at 6 months old. By far they show more desire than any I have seen. Fire and desire is a great place to start and they got lots.
Hope that this summer some of the first Smoke pups will be in the hunts. They all seem to be comming along great.
This weekend is our first zone 1 hunt at Clinton, Mo. We started a retro fit at the plant and Im scheduled to work all weekend. I might not be able to make this one but Timmy is going.
Need to finish Leggs and put Hic (our Smoke pup) in the hunt this weekend. Might need to hire a handler!!!!!

we sold leggs friday and Timmy took Hic to the hunt. Hic did real good but came up short of the cast win. Nothin that 3or 4 weeks of huntin wont cure. Timmade it to the show with her saturday and won class,breed and best of show. She got spanked by J Moss's female for Queen. LOL Jim has a super nice female.
All in all Smoke pups are makeing their move.LOL

Hic is going to be a coondog. Shes young and we just need to hunt her by herself more.
There is only three out of that litter that will get put in the hunts. The other two are coondogs but will more then likely never see a hunt.
we have three other pups out of Smoke and each out of diffetent females that we are starting now. They are 6 and 7 months old and got the fire. Cant wait till the kittem coon get to movin. These pups will be the right age for it.
